  1. QUOTE (gatnom @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:36 PM) I'm not losing much sleep over taking the bat out of Juan Pierre's hands. You saying you don't like watching someone ground out to second, over and over and over again?
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) If his control is up to par he can be one of the best closers in baseball. His stuff is that good. When MO retires, i think it'll be fair to say that Marmol could easily vie to be the best in the league. He's nigh unhittable.
  3. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:34 PM) Oh I've said the same thing . 2 year window of opportunity with our starters and to try and eek by without an offense is a gamble. But yea we get it offense is bad but not season giving up on bad. Of course. I'm keeping the faith, till i can't keep it any further. I just don't think we're in the position to write anyone off. Hell, even the Tigers.
  4. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:32 PM) Your leadoff hitter bunting to get a guy from 2nd to 3rd with no one out in the 6th inning is terrible baseball, but that's just Ozzie's stupid way of managing the game. Fixed.
  5. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:31 PM) Sweet another leadoff walk. And as for negative/positive posts...I think the sad part is that most of us realize this team isn't 'special' by any means. But most of us know that because of the division we're in, we can possibly hang around long enough to have a shot when it matters. Burying ourselves early on will remove even that possibility. This was the main point of contention in the offseaon. We all recognized the state of the division, and the quality of our pitching staff, and a lot of us were frustrated that while the Twins were making active efforts to improve on the offensive end, the White Sox refused to make lateral moves.
  6. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 07:29 PM) I doubt JJ gets more than a couple minutes a game if that, which is a shame because I think Vinny underates his talent and what he can do on the court. I actually tihnk VDN has done a decent job managing JJ. He was doing quite well in Deng's place until he went down with his own injury. It sounds like JJ was dealing with a lot of maturity issues too, and did come around until later in the year.
  7. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:27 PM) Quentin is just awful now too. He doesn't know how to take pitches apparently. Q had a 6 RBI game, not even a week ago. Let's not wreck on the guy, just yet.
  8. I enjoy having no idea who any of these Kanny starters are.
  9. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:23 PM) Great so your a Twins fan ? Cubs fan ? Twins got any weaknesses ? You don't have to be a Twins fans to make an objective prediction on the state of this divison.
  10. I'm just going to pop-in (God, do i miss watching these games) to say i think Teahen should start hitting higher in the order. Not because he's hitting like a superstar, but because he's get on base at a tremendous rate, and i'd like to ride that hot streak while we can.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 06:11 PM) People sure had pretty high expectations coming into this season, that's for sure. I actually thought they were considerably lower after Ben Gordon went to the Pistons.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 05:53 PM) A's lock up Brett Anderson through 2015. http://www.sbnation.com/2010/4/16/1426846/...act-oakland-mlb Good move. I think BB is overrated as f*** (Wite, Thunderbolt, I don't want to hear it). But the haul he got for Haren was SICK. My opinion of Beane has lessened over the years. I still like him, but i reckon he's quickly getting passed by Jack Z and even KW himself. You're not getting any guff from me.
  13. It's great to see Marquez go out and pitch a nice game. Also, good to see Danks developing more power.
  14. Sound like Jones is now an everyday player. Well deserved. “The way he’s swinging the bat, he’ll play every day,” Guillen said before Jones went 0-for-3 with a walk. “Where? The three (outfield positions) plus designated hitter. We have four positions for him to play every day.”
  15. Nice to have it confirmed that Hynick is still in the organization.
  16. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 02:05 PM) I do wish we had somebody like Hudson up that could serve as the long man and go 3-4 innings. I'd prefer for him to stay stretched out in case Freddy doesn't get back on track. I'd rather we bring up a guy like Torres.
  17. Keep Fat Freddy and T-Paine away from Rose. The Bulls do not need their best player going into a playoff game with a hangover and a tramp stamp.
  18. I don't think we should get in the habit of taking moral victories from splitting series. Regardless, of past history.
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 06:15 PM) the defensive outfield with quentin at DH is so niceeeeeeeeeeeeee. Are you starting to come around on Quentin as DH, bmags? I know you've expressed some concern in the past.
  20. The Knights should start hitting again now that they're away from The Orioles AAA pitching buzzsaw.
  21. I'm suprised that Carlos and his wife aren't swingers. If i've learned anything from this board, it's that Carlos needs to play the field.
  22. Quentin at DH again. Hopefully, he sits at the end of the bench so that no one gets hurt when he explodes.
  23. Jayson Nix is starting tonight at 3b and Donny Lucy is starting at catcher. I'll try to track down the full lineup, but i know it starts with Pierre in LF and Beckham in 2b.
