    i am drunk

Sup, b****es? I'll be damned if four loko isn't awful, but it gets the job done. Well, that and the last third of Olde English.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 29, 2010 -> 08:09 PM) What the heck is this the Heat are doing for their starting line ups? Can they be more douchey? I never envisioned Phil Collins "In the Air at Night" being used as any kind of pump-up song.
  3. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 30, 2010 -> 05:01 PM) How abouts...... John Danks to Yankees for Brett Gardner + Gary Sanchez/JR Murphy. (Pending the Yankees sign Crawford) Yankees get a lefty SP in Danks, White Sox get a speedy, LH OF who gets on-base a ton, and a catching prospect from the Yanks. Yankees adding Crawford would make Gardner their 4th OF, and the Yankees have 4 catching prospects in their top10 prospects. Sanchez is 18 yrs old, Murphy is 19. The Yankees already have a lefty SP, a really good one, and if Andy Pettite doesn't retire they'll have two of them. I'm sure they'd love to get an arm like Danks, but i don't think it's likely at the moment.
  4. I really hope KW makes a couple splashes this offseason. I'd like to see the direction of this team changed a bit more, then the tweaks and stopgaps we got last offseason. Obviously, getting Colby Rasmus would be one of these moves
  5. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 29, 2010 -> 05:50 PM) I'd liken it to making a roster full of 99 rated players in a video game. Yeah, it's fun for a few games, but then it just gets boring. I don't think i'd ever find my favorite team winning a championship boring, no matter what means they took to get there.
  6. This would have been the greatest thing to happen to this organization since Dewayne Wise made the Catch. Stanton is a mega-talent and Ozzie is a giant ass. This would have been win-win.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 10:57 AM) Did anyone else catch Chris Broussard on pre-game yesterday say that Andre Iguodala wants out of Philly and that the Bulls and Sixers have had discussions about a Deng/Iggy swap? I'm still praying for Rudy Fernandez. The Bulls desperatley need someone to space the floor, Luol Deng spotting up once in a blue moon isn't going to cut it.
  8. I think it'll be a blast if every team treats the Heat like the Patriots were treated going down the stretch in the NFL as an undefeated team back in 2007. I'm talking about no one taking the night off, everyone giving their best effort, if we could have a playoff atmoshere like their was in Boston for the 41 nights on the road that would be incredible.
  9. I don't think the disparity in pitching is large enough for the Giants to win this. The Rangers have a potent offense, the Giants have Buster Posey.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 15, 2010 -> 12:59 PM) Robin has never shown interest in working in baseball again. He has been asked before. Well, there goes that idea. I miss Ventura and would love to get him back in the organization, but i guess my desire for a continued early 90's White Sox coaching staff nostalgia trip only goes so far. He's a pretty good broadcaster whenever the College World Series rolls around.
  11. I really dig this World Series matchup. It's nice to have someone other then then Phillies and the Yankees dueling it out for anothe year. I can at least find something to root for in the San Francisco-Texas Matchup. Also, anyone who says they're not excited to see Tim Lincecum face Josh Hamiltion is either lying or is impossible to please.
  12. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 23, 2010 -> 02:33 PM) I don't understand that statement, didn't Teixeira win a WS ring last year with the Yankees? 2009 was a lost year for Witesoxfan. Also, one of the best things about going to a Big East school is watching shellshocked Yankees fan walking around the morning after elimination.

    Films Thread

Martin Freeman is and has always been the perfect guy to play Biblo. I'm very excited to see things finally kicking into place for The Hobbit.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 07:20 PM) http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...ague-staff.html Joe McEwing will manage Birmingham. Ever Magallanes to be a roving infield coach. McEwing has a lot of potential as a manager. It could be that the Sox are going to put him on a Sandberg-esque track up to the point of being a legitamate player for major league jobs.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 06:06 PM) He's gone mark lemke (i.e. scrub goin' babe ruth in the postseason). I don't know if i'd call Cody Ross a scrub. He's actually a pretty decent baseball player.
  16. A Mets team run by Alderson and managed by Dave Martinez would be a pretty interesting operation to watch. I hope they go for it.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 10:41 AM) The Question is: Would some of the Anti-Ozzie people on this site be willing to take on Ryno as the next Sox skipper? From what i've heard they're actually really similiar in terms of managing style. So, no i wouldn't.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 09:04 AM) I think that it will definitely be a long time before anything like this could happen. Again, the Knicks trade would run into the same issue that the Nets trade would have for the Nuggets; it doesn't make them obviously better at any point in the near future. It clears some cap space from Curry, but you're downgrading at SF to do that, and you're not going to be far enough under the cap to do anything with that space other than sign Gallinari. You really need a team like the T-wolves to give up their pick to the Knicks to make it worth while. It's a competitive offer compared with "losing Anthony for nothing", but without what appears to be a legitimate top 5 pick coming, it's not even as good as the last offer. That's still an absolute crap package for Melo. The Nuggets are better off waiting till the deadline and seeing if anyone else will bite.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 04:38 PM) Do you really expect better out of the Bulls backups? If Rose and Boozer aren't in, who else is left to create their own shots? If you took Kobe and Gasol out of the Lakers, wouldn't they be the same way? I wasn’t passing any sort of judgment here. I was making an observation about the offensive adjustments the Bulls are making with two post players out.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) You left out the most important detail. The Rangers look like the better team 2 games in despite Cliff lee not pitching. That's the most encouraging thing to me. The loss in game one would have been all the more deflating if the Rangers had wasted a game from their ace. It's actually worked out well to have Cliff Lee sitting pretty going into New York.
  21. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) Sounds awfully familiar It's classic Post-Brand Bulls basketball. If they can't feed the ball inside, they mostly run ISO plays and run around like chickens with their heads cut off. When Boozer gets back they can thrive off the pick and roll, but until then they're going to move the ball around and look for open shots off the perimeter.
  22. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 12:24 PM) After looking at the box score, it was a mismatch because none of our starters played more than 21 min, while Scalabrine, Thomas, and Watson all played 30+. The Bulls don't have much of a post-game without Boozer and Gibson which means if the mid-range jumpers aren't falling then the Bulls aren't winning.
  23. The Rangers look like the better team two games in. Hopefully, there's no more bullpen mishaps and they can nip another Yankees World Series run in the bud.
  24. I hope Cora gets his shot. He’s a bit more subdued then Ozzie and seems to have a nice approach to the game. I’d like to see someone like Ventura step into the clubhouse and take his place.
  25. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 15, 2010 -> 01:32 AM) I really want 2K to put Asik in the game so I can start My Association. Suddenly all my announcer commentary vanished... I'm thinking of creating him and putting him on the team. The main comparisons he gets is to Andris Biedrins so i figured i'd just translate those stats over to Asik's profile.
