  1. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 10:49 PM) Well, I've finally reached the point where I just THINK of Mark Kotsay and I'm repulsed. Hey, don't you talk about a guy who hit well in the Cactus League that way!!!!
  2. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 10:48 PM) if we do something it'll be when Chris Perez comes in....we like to tee off on that dude It's because we're a dead fastball hitting team and that's all Perez throws.
  3. Beckham and TCQ. Hopefully, this inning proves promising.
  4. At least Konerko made the team flight from Arizona.
  5. M-Cab crushes a homerun off Soria with two outs in the 9th after a 3-2 count. Tie game.
  6. Well come on guys! Strength in numbers. We’re going to make this thing relevant whether they like it or not. Trust me, this is going to work. Nobody likes “The Splendid Splinter” when I came up with that, but it caught on. Don’t get me started when I threw the “Teddy” curveball at Theodore Roosevelt.
  7. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 10:18 PM) lol, what? He's Ranger, you didn't know that?
  8. At least Kotsay's hitting them in the air this game
  9. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 10:08 PM) More importantly, our 5 hole hitter! Everyone knows that the Designated hitter in the 5-hole is a legitmate threat on any roster!!!
  10. Nice our DH is up third. We should get some production here!
  11. Hah, Chris Getz rbi single puts his team up by 1. We only saw that like, 30 times.
  12. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 10:00 PM) FYI, Leslie Anderson is gone too (referring to your signature) I was going to post the same thing. GET OUT OF MY BRAIN!!!
  13. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) 2009 White Sox are back.....can't hit, can't get on base.... Nah, those guys didn't have a rotating DH.
  14. Hey guys! I'm watching via gamecast, looks like Peavy stumbled into an inning of trouble.
  15. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) How do you bat .429 in 8 at-bats? Kotsay should be on the bench, or at least batting no higher than 7th. I don't have any problem with the guy, I'm just pissed he was put into this position. Good call. 7 AB's, 8's PA's. He walked once.
  16. In 7 lifetime AB's Kotsay is batting .429 against Carmona. Jones is 0-3 with 2 K's. These are alarmingly small sample sizes, but large enough to justify not playing Jones here. He still shouldn't be hitting 5th.
  17. This is an outstanding interview. There’s a tremendous difference between this and the first interview he had with B & B. It’s amazing how much more confident Beckham is then he was last year.
  18. QUOTE (OldSmoky2 @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 11:11 PM) Of the seven AL teams ahead of us in those projections yesterday, five lost. Doesn't mean it's not a useful stat, but just pointing that out. This might be a record for the smallest sample size ever used to make a point about lineups.
  19. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 07:55 PM) Well, it's who we have on our team. You can b**** about it for the next six months. The past three months of b****ing about it really has accomplished a lot. This is a really productive post in a thread dedicated to "b****ing" about what my post is about. You're right we should accept glaring faults when they're masked by other things of quality. We should accept below-average performance, becasue we're all "talked out" on the subject. That's an effective approach and doesn't at all distract from the subject at hand.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 06:42 PM) FWIW, the average OPS of the Catcher's spot last year in MLB was .721. The Average OPS of the DH was .779. Mark Kotsay's career OPS? .750.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 03:56 PM) If we play like we did yesterday every day, I wouldn't get too worked up about this. We shouldn't accept a poor DH, just because the rest of the roster is hitting well around him. We shouldn't have to win in spite of the Designated Hitter.
