That being said I’m comfortable with a guy striking out a lot if he mitigates that with decent power and a great approach at the plate. Cust does that, and batting average, as ever, is an incredibly overrated statistic.

It's clear the Sox don't see the need in messing around with Flowers when he's be unlikely to see any action in the week till Castro comes back. It makes a lot more sense to give a minor-league veteran like Lucy a chance to experience the majors, and let a guy like Flowers keep working towards the greater picture.

Jack Cust was DFA'd by the A's. Needless to say he's not happy about it. In his comments after he offered a pretty accurate look at the current state of the A's. “The fact is, this team has no power and they’ve just released a guy who (averaged 28 homers) the last three years. That’s amazing." I wouldn't mind if the Sox brought him in . They won't though.

Marvel Studios confirms Joss Whedon is on the shortlist to direct The Avengers. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/Mar...n/news/?a=16595 I hope he gets the job. it's a great fit for both party's, and could help to make Joss more of a "name" brand. Hopefully, they'd let him have a run at the script too.
