  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 11:39 PM) :PWho posted in: 9/19 ESPN Sunday Night Baseball- Tigers @ Sox Poster Posts greg775 49 fathom 21 Quinarvy 12 CaliSoxFanViaSWside 9 JoeCoolMan24 9 We don't have time for you and your silly sabermetrics, southsider.
  2. I like to read threads about what other peoples interest are. It's a terribly limited hobby to try to follow up on.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) I wonder how long the lawsuit takes to happen? I was thinking about that too. I think it's a very realistic option, he'd probably at least get it settled too.
  4. Ideally, if the losing streak continues someone will have to held accountable. There’s not a chance that actually happens though.
  5. Just checked the score and found out that we're now losing. I seem to have missed a lot.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 10:20 PM) Tonight, I've watched when Quentin and Morel batted. Sadly, I had to watch Teahen cause he was batting in between those guys. I didn't see a single pitch Danks threw all night until the Laird AB in the 7th. I popped in to see Morel and Lillibridge, then i switched back to Family Guy and the Manning Bowl.
  7. I’m completely unmotivated to watch these guys even when I have the chance to watch them. I should have listened a couple weeks ago when Ozzie told me not to watch these, “f***ing White Sox,”
  8. I can't say i'd be any happier about this team with Larussa as manager. I don't like the guy, and i don't think he's got anything stategically that Ozzie doesn't. Mostly, he has Dave Duncan.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 07:56 AM) Are you serious? Ozzie's slurping of the Twins over the years has been downright embarrassing. I think respecting the competition is fine, but we spend too much time making excuses for our own inadequacies by slavishly preaching the “Twin philosophy.” We need to adapt to their approach, not stare in awe.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 01:30 PM) How is that conventional thinking? How is it not? More often than not, a kid with Sale’s stuff who throws from the left side will remain in the bullpen for an extended period of time, especially after making his major league debut there. The White Sox have decided to forgo this and let him focus on making a more significant contribution to the team, the very next spring, instead of years down the line.
  11. QUOTE (scenario @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 12:11 PM) Yeah, take away Morel, Viciedo, and Sale and I find it hard not to throw up looking at their roster. (Although I still think Jordan Danks could pan out if he can cut down on strikeouts.) One thing that surprised me this year was how horrible Rochester... the Twins AAA team... was. They had one of THE worst records in all of MiLB... winning almost 20 games less than Charlotte. The Twins like to keep their tools guys down in AA, and let a lot of their middling older prospects play out the year in Rochester.
  12. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) Sale to compete for a starting job in spring training next year. He is Peavy insurance it seems. Article also mentions the possibility of a 6 man rotation (lol wut) or Sale moving back into the pen after Peavy returns. (if Peavy's return was delayed in the first place) http://tinyurl.com/2b8tr2f This is absolutely the right decision to make and I commend Kenny for not responding to the conventional thinking of putting a lefty kid with his kind of arm into the back of the bullpen and letting him rot.
  13. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 12:22 AM) Bulls***. They take cheap shots, throw at batters intentionally, beat s***ty teams on luck and then lose in the first round in the playoffs. If you want to admire a team like that and congratulate them that's fine --but why don't you do it on a Twins board? The Twins know how to assemble and manage a baseball team. They're proven time and time again that this isn't luck, this is just a quality approach to running a baseball organization.
  14. I'm going home for the weekend, so the opportunity is there for me to watch some actual games. At this point, i'm not sure i event want to.
  15. I'd like a full rebuild. I said that last year and i got this current group of guys, so i fully expect to welcome Troy Glaus and Carlos Lee into the fold come spring.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 01:48 PM) ? Gordon Beckham, Alexei Ramirez, Chris Sale, Gavin Floyd, John Danks, Sergio Santos, Dayan Viciedo all say hi. Only two of those guys were drafted by this organization. I'm talking about in-house options, not Cuban national players or reclamation projects,
  17. I'd put our official time of death at the Brian Roberts walkoff for the Orioles. That series signaled a change in direction for this team.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 01:44 PM) This really isn't true. Every team goes into the season with obvious flaws. Even the $200 million team had weaknesses in middle relief, corner OF, starting rotation depth, and age. When did I make some sweeping declarative statement about "every team?" I was referring to how the White Sox are all too willing to hope for a handful of gambrels to work out every year, rather then shore up every position with guys capable of at least producing league-average production.
