  1. The Tigers pen is going to be filthy with Perry and Schlereth it it.
  2. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) I agree....no way. No sense in giving up all of your players with potential for one year of Halladay, which would blow up the budget even more. I retracted the proposal, but honestly, i'd have no problem with it. This is assuming, and this is a massive assumption that this is essentially a sign and trade. I want Halladay for three years. If we get that then it's worth it, becasue i think we can fill each and every hole that we open.
  3. The Tigers made out like bandits on this one. And i hate this for the Yankees.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) I say HELL NO! For AG, I'd deal 3 of the 4 (Hudson is the guy I'd like to keep). You beat the edit, Jordan . Well played.
  5. We don't need Halladay, but it couldn't hurt to have him. Do we try to pluck Upton and Navarro (a non-tender guy), while sending the pieces to both sides to try to seal the deal? Can we? What's the upside for the Jays here? Who are they getting?
  6. Not a fan. I can't really explain why, logically, i think i'm just too attached to Carlos, and it feels like making a big whole to fill a small one.
  7. A mindgame, i presume. KW likes playing games with the media. He's not a guy we can get easily, nor is he a guy who we really need. Not to say that getting him wouldn't be legendary.
  8. I wouldn't rule out Jones having a Jim Edmonds-esque ressurection for the Sox. Nor would i count on it, i don't think KW is doing either.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 7, 2009 -> 06:42 PM) I did just that. Nice job, K. Now I'm even more convinced Danks shouldn't sniff the 2010 roster. Honestly, i'm also in the Danks isn't ready camp. I just have issues with an organizational outlook that's comfortable with having placeholders fill some major positions. I think Jones can be lightning in a bottle, i just hope like hell we explore every possible alternative before we reach that point.
  10. I like Andruw, but honestly i'd almost rather move TCQ to DH and play Jordan Danks in the OF then devote time to a guy that really has nothing left to prove at this point. I really do think the division is bad enough that Danksy could get 250+ AB's that wouldn't be detrimental to the team. I hope KW can render all this mute by bringing in Upton or another name. So, Danks can pay his due diligence in AAA.
  11. No, thank you. Nope. We need to compensate for about 45 homeruns-worth of power that we've lost, Pierre is not the go to guy for that.
  12. Great signing for the Royals. They really have a nice collection of young talent to waste in the near future.
  13. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Dec 6, 2009 -> 06:43 AM) Come on people our bullpen is bad enough. And who are we going to get to close? Thorton? That's nice now who is the set up guy? Hudson? No we will probably trade him for soemone else too. It has also taken us forever to land a decent catching prospect- all that for an inconsistent outfielder? BJ Upton is not a guy you just write-off. He's a guy who if everything works out, you build around. He's got ELITE potential, even if he falls short of that he still puts up numbers in every offensive and defensive category. So, yeah i'd say he's worth a closer who we're scapegoating, and a promising catcher with 3 hits in the MLB.
  14. I wonder how much cash we could pump into a deal with the Angels to get GMJ, and Hank Conger (with Figgins gone, Wood might be out of the picture), while still only giving up maybe Paulie and an arm (ELY) I say this, becasue if we deal Flowers in a package for Upton, the Padres are still going to want a catching prospect.
  15. Assuming the Tigers trade Jackson and Granderson, i'm somewhat unconcerned about anybody but the Twins standing in our way next year.
  16. Padilla is Bartolo Colon with more of a negative attitude. I don't buy the rumor.
  17. Ben Snyder of the Giants is a guy who's up for Rule 5 draft, and might make a decent lefty that we could hide in the pen. Average K/9 in the minors was 7.9. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/p...id=snyder001ben
  18. The Marlins have Renyel Pinto on the market, Really, i'd prefer to gamble on a Rule 5 Kid.
  19. If we trade Danks and Hudson who is our 5th starter? Hynick? Torres? Ely? I don't think we'd pursue anyone big on the free agent market.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 01:53 PM) I haven't seen Kenny deny a f***ing thing. MLBTR doesn't even have sources anyway. They are a walking RSS Feed. Exactly, they do this s*** all the time. Who the hell are they to claim the high ground here?
  21. I like how this offseason is shaping up. We seem to have a solid plan and KW always has good follow through.
  22. Not sure if we should really count Randy Williams amongst the young "hurlers" at this point.
  23. I put him in long relief. Pretty much mop-up duties.
