  1. Nice little interview with Huddy. A couple cool excerpts "Do you still follow the White Sox closely? Yes, I'd love to see them do well. I keep in touch with a bunch of guys, especially (pitchers Matt) Thornton, Sergio Santos, Erick Threets. Any regrets during your stay? I wish I had met Jim Thome when he was there. We went to Detroit the last series of the season, and he got everybody a $300 credit for all the young guys to buy clothes at a store. That's a testament to how great a guy he is. (Note: Thome was traded from the White Sox to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Aug. 31, 2009.) " http://content.usatoday.com/communities/da...ed-man/1?csp=34
  2. I liked that little deke by Paulie to end the last inning.
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 05:59 PM) You've been doing it for free for faaar too long, mirite? Yeah, and i'm not seeing a dime for it.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 05:19 PM) Sorry, I don't actually mean this. I just found that gif and had to use it. Man-Ram's been around since the mid-90s, I don't think it's dying anytime soon! THEY RAPING EVERYBODY OUT HERE!!!
  5. I should be able to watch these games on NESN here at school. I look forward to getting back in the swing of things with you guys.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 10:13 PM) Chapman pitched tonight....looked amazing I'd be a hell of a lot more excited about him if he was still starting. It's still fun to see that kind of stuff from a guy not named Neftali Feliz.
  7. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 05:32 PM) Anyone getting an impression that Sale might be getting groomed for Sox' closer of the future? I think Santos is the guy who will be making the transition.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 03:57 PM) No big surprise there. Joey put in some good playing years up there. I wouldn't mind getting Ventura into the mix, if Cora goes to Seattle.
  9. I look forward to seeing what Sale does in the minors when we start to stretch him out.
  10. Our troubles with the Indians appear to be in the rear-view mirror.
  11. I really miss watching these games. Great to see the winning ways continue.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) It would mean he was not a part of the roster and thus make him unavailable, rendering that the worst idea of all-time! I wouldn't put it past us.
  13. Jesus, 54 PAGES? Well done, Sox Talk.
  14. Good to see Beckham is okay. I'm back at school, so i'm relying on you guys to keep me updated on all things White Sox.
  15. Fangraphs approves. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/m...-the-white-sox/
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 10:13 AM) Don't stop We lost our last one. I say we get going.
  17. Here’s a little snapshot from David Pinto about just how big an effect a healthy Manny could have on this lineup. “Reports say Manny is flying to Cleveland to play for the White Sox tonight against his original team. So how much should the White Sox expect to improve from Manny’s presence? Here’s how the Lineup Analysis Tool rates the White Sox composite lineup. Chicago is under performing a bit. They should be scoring 4.86 runs per game and they are scoring 4.74 runs per game. I’m not surprised to see they have a poor stolen base percentage and grounded into a lot of double plays. To put Manny in the lineup, I inserted him third and moved the third place hitter stats to the sixth hole. That lineup generates 5.10 runs per game. I’ll knock off 1/10 of a run for poor base stealing and double plays, so Manny should add .25 runs per game. If they continue to allow 4.20 runs per game, they should play .586 ball the rest of the way for a 19-13 record. That’s good, but they likely would have gone 18-14 if they continued to score and allow runs at the same rate. Still, in a close race, one game can make a big difference. I like contenders trying to find wins any way possible.” http://baseballmusings.com/
  18. It's not about liking Manny. It's about knowing that this team needs a bat, and taking whatever we can get. I'm willing to concede a month for a juicer if he can carry this team to the promise land.
