  1. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 12:46 PM) Isn't Bradley said to be a good teammate from other players' perspectives? None of his problems seem to be with teammates. Kinsler, Hamilton and Young of the Rangers all loved the guy. His manager in Texas, Washington liked him too.
  2. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 08:06 PM) The name "Camelback Ranch" just sounds strange. They should change it. You always were more partial to the Spahn Ranch anyway, weren't you?
  3. I hope I can make it back to Camelback this spring. It’s a spectacular facility.
  4. There's a picture floating around the net showing the parents watching the balloon take off. It's all very sad that these parents would subject a 6-year old to all of this.
  5. I'd love to get Leslie Andersen on this team. He's a great all-around player, i'm just not sure he has a place here. Much of his value comes from his versatility, and we'd likely have to stick him in a Corner.
  6. Why? Billy Beane trades with KW all the time. They're actually really good friends. I don't see why KW would have any trouble dealing with guys like Depodesta or Forst. Hell, he seemed to get along great with Riccardi too.
  7. Hot Air is updating this thing pretty well. Sounds like the boy really did make it into the baloon, the issue here is that the Box he was inside is gone. http://hotair.com/archives/2009/10/15/awfu...unaway-balloon/
  8. Cops are searching the area around the boys house. The belief now is that he never got in.
  9. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 03:48 PM) If this was a publicity stunt by Falcon's daddy. Falcon's daddy needs a good old fashioned ass beating. A couple years in prison too. He wasted A LOT of Denver's money today, if this is a hoax.
  10. It's possible that he fell out.
  11. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 02:59 PM) Caulfield: :cheers Balta: :cheers Longshot: :cheers League: :cheers I'm somewhat dissapointed that M-Cab and Tony Pena weren't invited to this party.
  12. Live Video Feed. Yet to see the kid. http://www.thedenverchannel.com/video/18205848/index.html
  13. I'm in class now. When updates come in, please post them here. Here's hoping the kid's still in and breathing.
  14. This really is both fascinating and horrifying.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 02:53 PM) Andy Sisco says "Not for 60 million!" I'll amend my statement and say that money is an issue here. In no way do i condone overpaying for a RP, but if the kid can start he's worth every penny. And i don't think there's enough scouting on him yet to rule out that possibility.
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 12:51 AM) I've heard reports that some scouts consider Chapman to be a glorified relief pitcher who has a poor attitude and poor work ethic. Unless, the kid is an absolute mess, anyone who can throw 100 out of his left-hand with a hint of control is worth a contract.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 02:08 PM) So who's planning on seeing Where the Wild Things Are? I know I am. These are some of the better trailers i've ever seen. They are doing a great job of marketing this movie.
  18. Holmberg and Upchruch actually do have a bit in common. Both were highly touted arms down south, with projectable frames, and a solid selection of pitches and both were seen as guys who needed to refine their approach, rather then transform it. I think what really pushes Holmberg here is that he's a lefty. And the White Sox system is almost totally devoid of solid LHP's from A-Ball on up.
  19. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 10:31 AM) If you dont get tingles up your spine with all the memories, you ain't human. Yep, Chills every single time. It's just a flood of memories.
  20. It's snowing out here. Guess it's that time again...
  21. This is the one with Alan Moore and Watchmen Babies, rights?
  22. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 05:28 PM) Yes, but he's also an injury machine. I believe Long had Tommy John on his elbow in 04, two years before the Sox drafted him. As of the draft he was supposed to have plus-heat and a plus-curve.
  23. I'd love to bring Jaramillo in. He's more then a hitting coach, he's a guru.
  24. QUOTE (scenario @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 03:00 PM) What are you talking about? The highest ERA he had at any level in the minors, until he got hurt in 2008, was 3.65. Oh, my bad. I must have overlooked the ERA and saw that his career averages for h/9 (9.8), and BB/9 (3.2) were that of a decidedly, mediocre pitcher.
  25. Q had a bum foot the entire year, not to mention he was coming off of a season-ending wrist injury. He never had the time to make a healthy adjustment. Also, his 32 bombs from last year give him the benefit of the doubt. Wheezey had had a decade to prove his worth in the majors, and has failed at every turn.
