  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 08:24 PM) They're not gonna bring him back to be a backup. He'll get moved during the offseason. I'm almost certain. Yep, Fields has said that he's been told he will be moved in the offseason. Seems like a priority for both sides.
  2. Cody Ross would be an ideal fit, i do wonder if the Front Office would prefer the lefty-hitting Hermida.
  3. QUOTE (almagest @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 12:20 PM) Okay, then how does keeping Swisher send us from 6 below to 11+ above .500? We had an offensive blackhole in CF until Pods came, and a blackhole in LF before Q came back. Swish is a 3.6 War player this year. That would put us back in the race wouldn't it?
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 03:16 PM) That leaves everyone other than the bullpen, not just those four. You're right. I'm not very good at math. I just assumed that the it being a veteran rumour was still on. I was looking at the lineup at nearly everyone got in the game, including Wise, Fields and Lillibridge.
  5. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 02:54 PM) From what it sounds like in today's sun-times, it was a couple of people and they were watching already during the game with maybe more joining after the game. That eliminates the bullpen, leaving AJ, Kotsay, Buehrle, and Peavy. I imagine the training staff or clubhouse crew had the game on. A couple of the guys went in to either check some tapes, or go to the bathroom, and lingered a bit too long.
  6. QUOTE (VAfan @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) Beckham 3B Abreu RF Johnson DH Quentin LF Konerko 1B AJ C Ramirez SS Rios CF Getz/Nix 2B Rios needs to be before Aj and Alexei. No need to have a guy of his talent getting the second least number of AB's of anyone on the team.
  7. Greinke just seems like a good kid. After all he's been through, and the season he's having, he deserves the award.
  8. QUOTE (farmteam @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 11:09 PM) Saw Ben Folds tonight, great show. Played really well, and was very entertaining, and great with the crowd. I saw him up at school last September, He really puts on a great show. What was his set-list like?
  9. Does she have a facebook page? You might be able to get a decent read of her interests that way.
  10. Guys, we're all huge funs. We post on a message board for christ's sake. No need to get on each others cases.
  11. QUOTE (almagest @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 01:22 AM) There's no guarantee either player would've done as well as they have with their new teams. Even if they did, there's absolutely no way that would push us from 6 below .500 to 11+ above. We also wouldn't have Peavy, Rios, Flowers, and possibly Viciedo. I’m fine with the Javy trade, that’s a dead issue for me. I’m also not sure how this would have any effect on the Peavy trade given that we’ve been pursuing him for years and none of the players we got for Swish, or traded for Peavy had anything to do with each other.
  12. Greinke locked it down today. I hope he pitches another gem next time out
  13. QUOTE (almagest @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 11:08 PM) I just find it amusing that people here actually think keeping Swisher and Vazquez would magically have prevented Quentin from being hurt and mediocre this year, Dye's second half suckfest, Linebrinks ERA of about 200.00 in the second half, and Buerhle being unable to win a game after his perfect game. No, but our opening day CF wouldn't have been Wise and our 4-5 wouldn't of been both Colon and Contreras
  14. Given our draft pick this year, and the fact that Mitchell is protected i think we can actually afford to give up a lot of the system
  15. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) Throw in Marmol and Josh Vitters and you have a deal! But seriously this deal is bulls***. I don't want Big Z, I want Peavy.
  16. Throw in Marmol and Josh Vitters and you have a deal!
  17. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) I agree with all this, but I have much higher expectations for our OF defense in 2010. I've mentioned Cody Ross a lot because IMO he's a perfect candidate. Not to mention the monstrous power potential he has for the Cell. If we could pluck Ross and one of the Marlins lefty's we'd be a sure thing in this division.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 10:01 PM) You almost wonder if the kid landed anywhere but Oakland if he could have amounted to something. It will be sad to see what becomes of the trio of Russel, Mcfadden, and Heyward-Bey in the years to come.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 08:28 PM) I'd hit it. By all means, hit that. Just do it at 8:00 on a Sunday.
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 08:14 PM) Yeah but whose gonna accuse AJ of not giving his all? Exactly, it's a dead issue. Ozzie was pissed off and tried to blow off some steam. AJ took it like a man.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 26, 2009 -> 04:10 PM) It is on the wrong day at a bad time. See "Friday Night Lights" when it's on NBC. Not to mention it's lead-in stars Michael Strahan. They should have paired it with Fringe on Tuesdays or Wednesdays . (Fringe is also taking a hurting from the NBC Thursday block)
  22. Gregor thinks it was AJ. http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/2669
