  1. Shame on you, Tex! Where the hell is the poorly photoshopped picture of Bartolo Colon, i was expecting upon entering this thread?
  2. I was fine with the Count and Thome moves, but shutting our arms down when we could still legitimately beat the Tigers would really anger me.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 09:26 AM) So hooking up with a "taken" girl is not a good idea. Boyfriend is pissed, girlfriend never told me anything about it (and felt the guilty need to tell him about us), but apparently it's my fault so I'm in some trouble here. Is he a big guy? There's a decent chance you can talk him down. Speak directly in friendly terms, "Look, before you do anything, just let me explain something." Give him the full-on mea culpa, if he can't take it like a man, bring two buddies with you, and just intimidate the s*** out of him.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 09:33 AM) Bunting accomplishes plenty when used properly. It is far from an easy out like Thunderbolt suggests, and although our team spectacularly fails at bunting, there are teams that can use it to their advantage and do so often(Angels) From Wikipedia: In baseball, a sacrifice bunt (also called a sacrifice hit) is the act of deliberately bunting the ball in a manner that allows a runner on base to advance to another base. The batter is almost always sacrificed (and to a certain degree that is the intent of the hitter) but sometimes reaches base due to an error or fielder's choice. Sometimes the batter may safely reach base by simply outrunning the throw to first; this is not scored as a sacrifice bunt but rather a single. The Bunt makes the pitcher's job easier, it doesn't stirke fear in to anyone. The Angels are so damn good, becasue they hit .300, rock bombs, and play defense behind an average pitching staff.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 09:09 AM) Carlos Gomez/Carl Crawford/Ichiro Suzuki says hi Two of the guys are premier athletes who get a ton of hits, get on base, and hit a lot of bombs. The other one sucks against everyone, but us. Not the best examples of the joy of bunting, Just the inadequacy of the White Sox defense.

QUOTE (qwerty @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 01:32 AM) Citizen kane is arguably the most innovative movie of all time. Can someone post the slow clap GIF for me? I've got nothing.
  7. QUOTE (The Bones @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 04:37 PM) Other than that, the only shows I'll be watching are Dollhouse DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS???
  8. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 07:58 AM) No, you don't have a problem. Well, yeah, maybe you have a problem. I will always love you, FlaSoxxJim. Even in a manly, heterosexual, non inebriated state.
  9. We're a home-run hitting team in a home-run loving ballpark. Are job should be to hit the crap out of the ball, get on-base, and play well in the field. We should not be giving away outs to advance runners, who can be driven in by actual productive hits. Honestly, i salivate whenever i see someone drop down a bunt against us. It's an easy out.
  10. I'd like to see Hudson get a few starts, but i'd prefer to not give up on the year until the Tigers series.
  11. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 12:23 AM) I'll consider that an intense buzz. That post took me like 5 more minutes to write then it should have. I had to be very deliberate, because i couldn't spell worth a damn. Well, more than i normally can't. Should I be concerned that I got drunk last night, got back to my place, and almost immediately went to post this on Sox Talk? Do I have a problem?

  13. I am reasonably drunk right now. And it is a honor to post in this thread.
  14. Morrow avoids the strike zone like he owes it money. Take pitches, and don't chase his heat.
  15. No one is going to take this division going away. We'll be in as long as we don't wet the bed going into the Detroit series.
  16. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 03:44 PM) Chris Martin is a great producer and known period. I'd day Jon Brion is one of the better producers working today. Not only that, but he's a great composer, and puts on one of the best live shows you'll ever see.
  17. God, i hope Greinke isn't hurt. If Mo or Sabathia gets a bulls*** CY Young out of this, i'm going to be pissed.
  18. QUOTE (Tex @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 01:20 PM) I believe the real pivot point in this; some stat heads get to the extreme and believe that baseball does not need a manager making a decision, I’m a huge stat head, and I don’t believe in a manager not making decisions, I believe in a manager making the right decisions. I’m a huge Earl Weaver guy; I hate the idea of giving up outs, because if you can’t trust a player to deliver a hit, or get on base in a run-scoring situation then he probably is a pitcher, or shouldn’t be playing in the major leagues.
  19. Bunting will be to the detriment to this team. IF we bunt more often it will cost Ozzie his job.
  20. I love the Frank Thomas idea. Then again i'm one of those A-holes who wants Jordan to come back for the Bulls for one more game.
  21. I'm really getting into How I Met Your Mother, right now. Guess you can add that to the list assuming i catch up.
  22. QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 15, 2009 -> 07:39 PM) JPN incites with his insight. JPN stimulates both the body and the mind. Ohhhhh, CJ Retherford. Groovy!
  23. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 02:11 AM) I also wish there was MORE interleague games On the other hand, i wish we could get rid of interleague play altogether.
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 15, 2009 -> 09:13 PM) Wasn't Perry fired by the Cubs because they couldn't hit? I don't think he was the Cubs main issue this year, and the Cubs hit their asses off last year.
