  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 06:24 PM) What really depresses me is that in my heart I still feel the Twins win the division even if we sweep them this week. I'm more frustrated then I am depressed. The majority of the problems this team is facing were easy fixes. The guys in charge chose not to make those fixes. There's not a damn thing that you, i, or anyone here could have done about it. So, I don't see the use it letting myself get too down over it. Sure, losing still tears me apart, but it's getting easier to accept for me. I wish it wasn't.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) Just amazing that Ozzie continues to play for one run when they're playing a softball game in this bandbox. I can't help but agree with this. We have an offense that's flawed and stunted, but i'd argue that a more tactical manager could probably be getting a hell of a lot more production out of them then Ozzie is. This post seems a little odd after we nearly scored ten, but I’m talking big picture here.
  3. Lately, i've come to the realization that a lot of forces seem to be working against the White Sox this year. Notably, The Twins, Ozzie Guillen, the offense and now, the bullpen. Eventually, this team was going to reach a normal pace. It appears that that norm might be that of a .500 baseball team. God willing we can pull out of this death spiral. As it stands, things aren't looking pretty.
  4. This is what we need to do. IF we can't beat the Twins, we need to beat the bad teams that we face. The Tigers are one of those teams.
  5. I'm glad to have Teahen back. I like the guy and i still think he can help this team.
  6. QUOTE (BearingPro @ Aug 13, 2010 -> 12:21 AM) Adam Dunn would look pretty good in this line up right about now. KW tried, I'll say that...maybe a miracle pick up from the waiver wire. As for Jenks...I won't miss him...Putz will do a good job. There's not going to be any miracle addition to this team. Every piece of pretty is getting blocked or pulled. If KW wanted to solve that problem he should have done it during the multiple times throughout the year where it was actuallly possible.
  7. KW is not at all optimistic that he'll be able to get that bat. Apparently problems that were evident in spring training, don't always work themselves out. "I'm just assuming everyone is going to get claimed," Williams said. "That's how I go about it." And having the ultimate confidence in the White Sox actually becomes a bit of a moot point. "Whether I do or don't, it doesn't matter," Williams said. "This is what we got." http://scottmerkin.mlblogs.com/archives/20...august_add.html
  8. It's hard to argue with any roster move that frees up more playing time for Mark Kotsay. Seriously though here's hoping he can learn to take a walk.
  9. I'm pretty resigned to the Twins being the better team, right now. Our pitching advantage is mitigated by their vast offensive advantage over us. Not to mention the fact that their manager is not a moron.
  10. Stay on your feet and play the damn ball, Carlos.
  11. I swear to got that Hawk could say something like, "Well, you could put a piece of spinach down my pants and call it a pony party." And half the people who have grown used to listening to him wouldn't even blink. It's like we've gotten used to the fact that the man makes no sense 45% of the time.
  12. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) the beauty is that we're still within striking range and still get last at bats And the ugly part of it is that we had bases loaded, no one out, the heart of our order coming up. and failed to score one run. Kind of paints a rosy picture, doesn't it?
  13. This team isn't a good offensive team. This team's failure to work at-bats tends to give us innings like the previous one on a consistent basis.
  14. Yeah, let's hope that Carlos can "bristle up and bow his neck." What the hell does that mean, Hawk?"
  15. Don't even bother working an at-bat, Paulie.
  16. YES! That was a great time for another Delmon Young defensive miscue.
  17. There goes the chance at the double play.
  18. I just got back from the Mets-Rockies game. The "fire Jerry (Manuel)" chants were ringing tonight.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 11:36 PM) Hard to say it's one of the biggest disasters based on what our final record is likely to be. Based on our record vs AL teams though, it does seems like Ozzieball is not the way to go. When you think about how close this division is going to be and couple that with how many games this strategy is costing us, it's an unparalleled exercise in offensive inefficiency. We could lose the damn division because of this. That's as big a disaster as i can think of.
