  1. Viciedo 1-5 with an RBI 2b. Danks 0-4 1 BB and 2 K's. (now at .249) Retherford 1-4 David Cook 1-3 2 BB's and 2 RBI's.
  2. Something happend on the way to the Coliseum.
  3. STUD!!! f***!!! What the hell Cox he'll just be picked off!!!
  4. So, Castro’s been hitting pretty well ever since half the board gave up on him.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 09:02 PM) Hudson next Wednesday at the Cell....please. Absolutely. The young guy needs to be given a chance to prove himself over Freddy Garcia. I fear, however, that this will not be the case.
  6. This is going to stir the traditionalists pot a bit more, but I happen to think that if a major league hitter (note, not a pitcher) can’t get a hit, draw a walk, hit the ball in the air, properly place a ball to on the ground, and instead has to willingly give himself up to advance a runner…. Well, that player probably shouldn’t be playing in the major leagues. In baseball we have 27 outs. Each and every one of those outs needs to be treated with the utmost importance.
  7. Welcome to the board, my friend. Hope you enjoy the experience.
  8. Josh Fields just homered off Arrieta. A pitcher with a great fastball and filthy moving breaking stuff. Hopefully, a sign that he's getting his stroke.
  9. Nix can do special things with the glove. Hopefully, with consistent playing time at second, he’ll sort it out, and start to put on a show.
  10. Jordan Danks is really struggling. His average continues to plummet after a 0-4 night with a BB and a K. He’s now at .253, and is definitely looking like a candidate to repeat AA next year.
  11. Absolutely not. No need to rush the kid. I would, however, say there’s a good chance of him getting one next year.
  12. If this is what Peavy looks like now, i look forward to watching him when his control comes all the way back.
  13. Peavy is absolutely dominant. He’s working deep into counts, but that’s to be expected given his time off. Peavy is raw out there and he’s still tearing through Pawtucket.
  14. Kroeger with an RBI single. Now, has an 11-game hit streak.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 07:23 PM) Peavy strikes out the side in the first inning. I just fainted.
  16. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 05:10 PM) Uuuugh. Is Lillibridge REALLY the best option to be called up? The guy BOMBED his last time up here. Hopefully, he's used ONLY as a PH/PR and NOT as a starter. Let's see what Nix can do... come on Ozzie, don't mess this one up. Yes, look at our system are only other middle infielders of "quality" are Betemit, and Ginter. Otherwise, i'm not sure the organization thinks CJ Retherford is ready yet. Frankly, the infield is a need that should be adressed in next years draft.
  17. At least, it's going to be fun to watch Nix play everday. Hopefully, he figures it out with his bat.
  18. Lillibridge is actually playing really well over the last month in AAA. I won't have a hissy fit (as some people will) if he gets called up in September.
  19. Bunting is never a good idea. Unless, the pitcher is up and the pitcher can't hit for s***. Bunting significantly decreases the probablity of scoring a run in an inning. Why? Because we're giving up an out each and every time.
  20. Hopefully, Pods will be making significantly less mistakes in his new role of 4th OF.
  21. I love Steve Stone. He has a great feel for the game.
  22. Boers and Bernstein, then in the papers? Next you guys gotta get on TV.
  23. Flower's is going to be on the big league club next year. I don't look at this as prediction, i see it as fact. He's improved in every facet of his game.
