QUOTE (League @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 06:38 PM) What'd Axelrod have to say? He thinks Peavy is ready to integrate with this team. He mostly talked about impressed he was with KW. Said something to the effect of "Kenny Williams wanted his man, and he got him.”" -
Everyone knows i love Swish. Trading him, especially for what we got, was an impulsive and poor choice. I imagine it was due to Ozzie and Swish having a fundamental clash in personality.

Dan Hudson will be up playing the part of Brandon McCarthy in the very near future. This rotation is set for amazing things.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 05:08 PM) So....There goes some of the money we have after this season. I think this may mean the departure of Thome for sure. We still have a cool 15 million. Assuming we don't extend Thome. -

For White Sox fans. As good as it is to have Jake Peavy, we’re much better for having Kenny Williams as our GM. Also, confirmed this is the same exact deal as last time. -

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 04:39 PM) Maybe he thought about it, spoke a little more with Linebrink and such, talked it over with his family, and was presented with an opportunity again. It's possible. This move was literally made about 30 seconds prior to the deal. While KW was on the phone with Axelrod, Axelrod was running to Peavy's house and Hahn was calling MLB. This all from Schuster BTW. Sounds like Peavy really was shocked the 1st time this trade came through. -

Not liking thisL "Frankly I am flabbergasted that the White Sox would want to make this deal with him in his physical condition," Axelrod said. -

QUOTE (chunk23 @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 04:45 PM) This is an overpay simply because it appears this package is better for the Pads than the original package. The first one was Richard, Poreda and Broadway. Carter and Russell easily have more value than Broadway. Peavy is out for at least 5 weeks. KW overpaid. Hudson was in the 1st deal too. Not an overpay. -

KW just bought low on an ace. I can never be angry at him again. -

QUOTE (TheHolyBovine @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 04:40 PM) KW should be exec of the year for getting Peavy AND keeping Flowers and Hudson. Amazing. Also, I wonder why Peavy decided to approve it this time (without any "incentives")? This might turn out to be the best deal he’s ever done. This was just brilliant. Anyone wanna relive the glory of the old Peavy thread? Didn’t we talk about Penguins? -

QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 04:40 PM) For prospect guru's....did Kenny overpay or is it a steal? We just got Jake Peavy while keeping Dan Hudson. This is absolute win. -
A small part of me hopes that O-Cab gets traded to the Twins just so we could see how far Joe Cowley's vendetta will go. Did anyone read some of his tweets about Swish during the game? Like this one? Swish is probably digging himself so much right now he doesn't know what to do. Maybe he could put more gel in his faux hawk.about 1 hour ago from txthttp://twitter.com/cst_sox Is this really necessary? Is this anything more then petty and vindictive? Cowley's been doing this s*** for years, and he's yet to be called on it. Not liking two players who had a difficult time here is perfectly logical. But continuing to harp on them even after they leave the team, offering nothing conducive to intelligent conversation is ridiculous for a guy who wants to be respected in his profession.

Didn't we have the nickname "Big Game" Gavin bouncing around before? It's been done before though.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 12:25 AM) thought you truly were bummed in a way that we actually won, just cause it was Wise. Never, a win's a win. I love winning, we should do more of it. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2009 -> 12:13 AM) That's cool he got suspended. Kudos to you for suspending that guy for that. So as I won't get suspended, to this post let me just say I am glad I do not approach sports like you apparently do (at least on the internet). My gosh. You say SIGH? I am a White Sox fan.D. Wise saved a fricking perfect game! That is a lifetime memory. Wise just beat the hated Yankees with a base hit. You see nothing wrong with your statement so more power to you. I'm just glad I am not that kind of fan. Did Wise beat you up in an alley or something? He's the worst player on our roster, fine. Yet he's personally responsible for 2 fantastic finishes. Greg, we’ve done this before. Let me just repeat: I’ve thanked Wheezy repeatedly for that catch, I’ve said it’s going to be a lasting memory for all of us, I think it’s great. Really great, in fact, for Wheezy to have something to carry with him for the rest of his life. My argument is, and always will be, that we should carry the best 25 guys we can on this roster. I don’t think Wise is one of them. I watch him play and I get frustrated over all the things he can’t do, and when there is something he can, a hit, a catch, that’s awesome, that’s really f***ing awesome, but I can’t overlook the fact that 9 out of ten times the exact opposite outcome usually occurs for Wise. And usually that outcome is a negative one. I don’t think we need to call each other out on our respective fan hoods, because we both recognize that each of us had a legitimate stake in the success of this team. We both live and die by this team, you do it unconditionally, and I love that. Hell, I wish I could be like that, but I’m a bit more tactical, if there’s a gift horse, I look it directly in the mouth, and wonder what else it can contribute. I’m just naturally like that. -

Sigh, happy to win the game, but this D-Wheezey hit along with the catch might buy him another month with the team. This is a very bad thing. -

I thought it was a bit weird when Jenksy didn't come out for the 9th. Depending on value, i'm more then happy to sell high on a closer. -
I think Thornton and Obama need to sit down with Floyd over a beer.
