  1. Boston wouldn't move Westmoreland for Roy Halladay. Why would they include him AND Bucholtz for Alexei?
  2. Dan Hudson is just tearing through a Jacksonville lineup that includes Logan Morrison and Mike Stanton.
  3. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 08:22 PM) I don't feel so bad about being at work right now. Just kill me. He’s one of the most pompous, arrogant broadcasters in the game.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 08:05 PM) When both were at there prime prospect status Pie was widely considered the better prospect. It’s a rough distinction. Pie’s speed is off the charts, he has good D, and a fair bit of pop for a player of his skillset. However, Fields power potential has always been extraordinary. Given positional value, Pie might actually take this one. However, one has a slightly better track record (Fields) at the major league level then the other.
  5. Extra Innings has blacked out the White Sox broadcast. If this game gets played, i get to listen to Michael Kay for the next three hours.
  6. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 07:37 PM) It's the "What If" factor that keeps Pie around. Teams keep waiting for him to figure it out, but in the meantime he's an ongoing disappointment. I'd rather keep Fields. Fields' ultimate potential is a lot higher then that of Felix Pie. Although they are radically different players.
  7. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 07:47 PM) Walks suck dude. You didn't hear? Dewayne Wise, is that you?
  8. QUOTE (nastymasty21 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 04:17 PM) I hope Swisher gets booed out the stadium. Dirty .225 Yes, because batting average is definitely the most damning statistic in the history of the game.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 06:53 PM) Brandon Wood hasn't shown anything at the Major League level yet. I'm not a fan. Wood could give you 35-40 homers from 3b-SS, that's insane. He's yet to have the chance to start at the major league level, indeed, he's hardly had the chance to consistently play for more then a week with the Angels. That kind of potential can't be ignored.
  10. Cowley says that KW wouldn’t budge on Danks and Floyd, made two or three different runs for Halladay, but was told that there was nothing in the system that interested the Blue Jays.
  11. I'd love to get Brandon Wood, and it would actually allow us to entertain the idea of trading Alexei.
  12. Cowley just said that the Sox told Lillibridge he could go back to AAA.
  13. I wonder if Cowley will have the balls to say something to Swisher's face. After all the s*** he's written about him over the last year.
  14. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 06:26 PM) Per Cowley's twitter: Missile out probably until Monday. Doesn't really seem like a DL trip in the making. Does this just mean that Lillibridge gets to play checkers in the clubhouse with Dotel, Pena, Contreras, and Colon?
  15. Looks like Jackson isn't in the deal. It's Josh Harrison a 3B.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 05:53 PM) Goldstein was twittering that Jackson was in it. Not the Cubs 1st round pick from this year. Jay Jackson. AA or AAA for the Cubs. Another nice arm. Looking a bit better for the Pirates
  17. QUOTE (League @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 05:49 PM) Pirates get Kevin Hart and Jose Ascanio. http://espn.go.com/chicago/ Not really seeing the upside in this deal for the Pirates. Both pitchers have live arms, but still...
  18. Nix is absolutely the best defender we have on this team. He might even be the best defender in the entire organization.
  19. Good to see the Reds realized just how profound of a mistake they were about to make
  20. I have a bit of a feeling that Fontenot might be involved for the Cubs. Not based on anything other then gut feeling
  21. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 12:20 PM) Isn't he pretty much another Jerry Owens?? Pie is Owens on crack. He's much faster and a lot more power. If he could ever figure it out, he'd be a hell of a player.
  22. I find it hilarious that this has actually gotten a lot of people laid.
  23. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 12:54 AM) Ultimately Sherrill is worth what teams are willing to give up and an offer of Fields and McCulloch would get laughed at. The Dodgers are offering a package much better than that and my guess is the Angels would as well. If the Sox could get Sherrill for Poreda and Fields than I'd say they are doing great because a couple years from now when Sherril walks we'd be getting 2 1st rounders back (ideally). And I still think Poreda's upside is that of Sherril. Really, good point. This might just seal the deal in my mind.
  24. Ideally, you keep Poreda and give Fields and a mid-tier prospect. Realistically, this is probably someone like John Shelby.
  25. This LAD VS STL game is like the song that never ends.
