  1. Yep, fired. Not before Omar Minaya threw Adam Rubin (Daily News reporter) under the bus though. God, that organization is screwed up.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 02:29 AM) Do the A's even get to the playoffs without two artificially enhanced cheaters, who both stole MVP awards from more deserving players? Beane is a good GM. But he's certainly not the Messiah that some make him out to be. Honestly, other than a book, what's the difference between him and KW? Keep in mind this team had Hudson, Zito and Mulder in their rotation.
  3. Everyone here knows how i feel about Homer Bailey, so i won't gush. If we could get him and Cody Ross, i'd really like our trade deadline.
  4. This organization has a lot more to gain from Richard being a successful major league starting pitcher then it does for Colon.
  5. The goal versus Perkins and Lirano is to take pitches, they tend to pitch around the zone, and are effective only when they can make a hitter chase. Baker is a bit different, he doesn't throw many bad pitches, the idea is to take pitches the 1st go around, and get a fair assessment of his tendencies. He's very much a pitcher who relies on varying sequences and location.
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 01:11 AM) Yeah that guy. My self-imposed hiatus is over so I can say it. Loved the catch, but the .192 average is not an anomaly. We're on the same page, Lostfan. It needs to be stated: One catch doesn’t make Dewayne Wise a good baseball player, it makes him a very important part of White Sox history, but it does not make him a good baseball player.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 01:02 AM) This guy? No, i think he meant this guy. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/w/wisede01.shtml Year Age Tm Lg G PA AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB CS BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS OPS+ TB GDP HBP SH SF IBB Pos 2009 31 CHW AL 49 114 104 8 20 6 2 1 7 2 3 3 24 .192 .236 .317 .554 42 33 0 3 4 0 0 89/7 Or this guy: 162 Game Avg. 162 346 321 41 67 14 6 9 32 13 2 15 62 .210 .250 .372 .623 58 119 4 3 6 2 1
  8. The decision to potentially use Colon over Richard is incredibly disturbing. Unless they're shipping CR’s ass out of town next week, he needs to be in this rotation. What does the organization have to gain by using Colon over Richard? They stand to lose more by dropping a young, hard-throwing lefty whose experience success at the back-end of a major league rotation, for an aged, fat pitcher with one pitch..
  9. Mitchell is now batting .393. Oddly, is yet to attempt a steal
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2009 -> 10:55 PM) Loney + Elbert for Martinez + Lee? Loney and Elbert don’t bring both of them back. You and Lambo and James McDonald and maybe you’ve got a deal. .
  11. It's realistic at this point to assume that Colon might actually be better served in middle relief. Richard, however looks like he has the really possibility to grow into a hell of a starting pitcher at this point. This is youth versus experience. Richard might reach a prime at some point soon, Colon is way past it.
  12. Gordon simply refuses to swing at bad pitches. He's amazing.
  13. Balls out effort by Raburn on that PK double.
  14. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jul 26, 2009 -> 08:44 PM) probably reading soxtalk.com HI, KENNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
  15. Hah, KW's on his computer and listening to his I-Pod. Wearing glasses too.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSox420* @ Jul 26, 2009 -> 08:37 PM) ROY is gonna be that pitcher in TOR I like Romerto too. It'll be an interesting battle though. If Beckham continues to be a high OBP and RBI guy, he'll get a lot of votes.
  17. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 26, 2009 -> 08:35 PM) ehhh...i still think porcello has more of a chance to win ROY than Beckham right now Porcello is trending towards a plus 5 ERA. Unless, he improves his peripherals i see his ultimate fate as a 3-4 starter which isn't bad, but not really worthy of the Porcello hype.
  18. Hey, Tigers. Our ROY candidate is better then yours.
  19. I love the Buehrle pace to pitching that we seem to be teaching the majority of our guys.
