  1. Well, to Ozzie, Wise just earned himself that platoon when Q comes back.
  2. Holy s***, Wheezey. Did that just happen?
  3. Alexei doesn’t really seem to have a great rapport with Getz. I love that he takes the initiative on double plays, but he never does the flip unless it’s absolutely necessary. It's logical, but odd.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 02:10 PM) It's Castro. Damnit, Castro!
  5. Huge out. Markakis kills us, nice play by Beckham too.
  6. Damnit, AJ. At least make a decent throw.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 01:35 PM) I need to see more from him to say he's "hitting." He has to hit a decent amount of home runs, one HR doesn't convince me. I should of prefaced my comment with an If. There is a good question mark with Ramirez, and you're right to call me out on it.
  8. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) Shave 100 points off each number and he's still hitting .291/.381/.770. It's 23 AB so a small sample size, but it's not just inflation. The kid has lots of talent and I still don't like that trade. Trust me, If I make a club about how much I didn’t like this trade, you’re welcome to join it.
  9. The more I read these Halladay rumors the less I like them. The Jays are doing a very good job of playing up his value, and we appear to have a legitimate part in all of this. KW’s going to do what he thinks is right for this team, but I’m very tentative about this.
  10. Can’t rule out a Wieters push either, but right now Romero and Beckham are the clear favorites.
  11. "Suddenly, the Rogers Centre is a destination for all sorts of baseball people. Pat Gillick, who stepped down last fall as GM of the Philadelphia Phillies, but remains a key adviser to current GM Ruben Amaro; Gord Ash, the former Jays GM and now assistant to Milwaukee Brewers GM Doug Melvin; Texas Rangers scout Don Welke; and, intriguingly, Chicago White Sox minority owner Eddie Einhorn, all were among the interested on hand for yesterday's second game of the weekend series between the Jays and Boston Red Sox. They saw the Blue Jays bounce back to thump the Red Sox 6-2 to tie the series, " http://www.torontosun.com/sports/columnist.../07/19/10184436
  12. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 12:10 PM) Does Reno play in the PCL? If so, well his high offensive numbers shouldn't be much of a surprise there. Yep, PCL definitely some inflation going on there.
  13. Pods7, Missile6, JD9, Thome dh, PK 3, Getz 4, Beckham 5, Wise 8, Castro 2. Contreras pitching. There is nothing Dewayne Wise can do that will lose him his spot in this lineup.
  14. Yesterday, Brandon Allen went 2-4, with a 2B, and a HR. He's now hitting .391/.481/.870 with Reno.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 10:57 AM) So we're still on this. Still. Wow.... You know what they say about old wounds… I think I’ll lay off on this one for a while, doesn’t make the trade or the return any better. Also doesn’t excuse some of the ridiculous slander some Sox fans insist on putting on Swish. That’s the core argument, having lain that out let’s move on. Dan Hudson has to be top 100, right now. There’s no question in my mind, but where do we all think he falls into the mix?
  16. Serenity, Cloverfield, HP:3. I like to get my nerd on often.
  17. Early? I was ready to give him the award about six months ago? Now, all we have is proof. Remember the get Q to the All Star Game thing we had going on? This should be our new cause. IF performance merits, and it does, by all means we need to get the guy the award.
  18. My main issue is that Ozzie continues to publically talk s*** about the kid. If I’m KW, I’m pissed at what Ozzie must be doing to the kid’s trade value, outside, of Ozzie’s constant stream of criticism there’s nothing that suggests Poreda isn’t a more than adequate big league pitcher.
  19. Yeah, excuse the David Chappelle reference. It was late, i was tired, and out of quips. I do, however, like the notion that Gordon Beckham gets why the song is funny, and is running with it. It means he’s got a good sense of humor about himself.
  20. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 09:49 AM) I think it's about being careful with Holbermg's arm. He already pitched a high school season and being from Florida probably has been playing year round while also doing a lot of pitching. I am sure he will start next year, but this year, they just wanna get his feet wet without killing his arm. Pretty logical assumption considering the massive amount of innings he’s had in High School. I believe he was top two in innings pitched down in Florida a along with Patrick Schuster
