  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 05:33 PM) I would say Jeff Cox earned a promotion to bench coach after that inning You sure you want to pick the Joey "The Windmill" Cora poison?
  2. But seriously it is so exciting to have an impact guy like Beckham on this team.
  3. We should trade this Beckham Guy. He's got bust written all over him.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 05:10 PM) D Wise is a human highlight reel. recognize, fools I think the people in this thread are actually really good at doing this.
  5. I’m at the point where I’m angrier at Wises’ presence on this team then I was at Jerry Owens’. I think it's because Wise had a prior track record of suck. where as the reasonable assumption was that Owens would be terrible.
  6. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 04:07 PM) has anyone ever tried to get around MLB.TV's blackouts by changing their personal info/location? I believe they can still track your IP address.
  7. Ah, i should have known. Braves-Mets.
  8. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 04:03 PM) I meant possibly a better fielding 3B. While Huff is the far better hitter, i'd prefer a cheaper more versatile player like Teahen.
  9. Are you f***ing with me Fox? A's and Angels with a pre-game Obama video? f*** Your, Blackout rules.

    Films Thread

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 02:48 PM) HP6 is one of the most awkward movies ever. It truly was. An odd mix of sensuality and violence. Definitely not PG. I still really enjoyed it.
  11. I got to be honest here. I don't think David Cook has much of a big league future, but i think he could hit at least .250 playing the same part Wise is playing for this team.
  12. QUOTE (beck72 @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 11:28 AM) Someone like him. But he's their starter and the Marlins aren't out of it. If the sox traded BA and a bullpen arm... Cameron Maybin is the X-factor here. Assuming he hits, Cody Ross is not only expendable, but no longer part of the Marlins future plans.
  13. QUOTE (3E8 @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 11:14 AM) Cody Ross Agree, 100%. He'd fit perfectly on this team.
  14. Ozzie Guillen" ""I don't think were going to give up half the organization for one player." http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....r-halladay.html
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 10:52 PM) Viciedo 3/3 with a double so far in the 6th inning. Has his average up to .270 We still holding on to that bust?
  16. This is a big day for us. We've finally all reached a consensus on the suckitude of Wise. He's so bad of a player, that we can only create words to describe his performance.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) What would the Jays do with both Kendrick and Lind? I assume you mean Aaron Hill? Not much of a logjam between 2b and DH.
  18. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) Hermida for Dotel Teahen for Fields + Egbert/Omogrosso/Link/Nunez? Snell for Getz (they're going to need a 2B after they trade Sanchez) These are all relatively realistic notions and would definitely improve the team .this would be a nice haul to come out of the deadline with. I'd prefer to do Ely and Shelby for Teahen and work Anderson or Fields in a seperate deal.
  19. QUOTE (Pumpkin Escobar @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 11:02 AM) Even if we took all of Zito's contract- i dont think theyre moving Alderson or Baumgarner...In fact, I think their front office said they wouldnt deal either of them for any bat. That'd be the smart thing to do. DFA Zito or just dump him straight up. Promote Alderson and Baumgarner to AAA and have them establish a relationship with Buster Posey
  20. I'd be more interested in eating Barry Zito’s salary and seeing if we could get Tim Alderson or Madison Baumgarner in return for one our bats. Picking up Hermida For Dotel afterwards could help fill a hole. I've been tossing around this idea, so no need to bash, i realize the guy is a) expensive and B) sucks and we're very much in the race with the team as is.
  21. Flowers' bomb was off one of the better Norfolk pitchers too. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=468435 Josh Perrault had just been dominating this year. Great to see this from Flowers.
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 16, 2009 -> 04:28 PM) Shelby fits better in there time-line. That wouldn't be a bad trade for the Royals as Shelby has some upside, although he's stalled a bit this season. I'd to Dotel for Hermida, and Shelby and Ely for Teahen. Can't have too much of a good thing.
  23. QUOTE (gatnom @ Jul 16, 2009 -> 12:10 AM) I realize Richard has been terrible, but anybody who thinks Poreda is going to come in and do a lot better than him is delusional. He has two pitches at best. Now, it might do some good for Clayton to get some time in the bullpen while we see how Poreda does in the starter's role, but anybody expecting Poreda to come in and pitch well and deep into games is setting themselves up for disappointment. I want you to watch all the video of how Aaron Poreda has pitched this year, and then watch the video of Clayton Richard. I then want you to read scouting reports on both players, and look at their minor league numbers, thereafter I want you to justify to me how Clayton Richard is decidedly a better option then Aaron Poreda. Also, to all those angry over this rotation, I suspect it’s going to look a bit different in two weeks, not Halladay different, but different.
  24. Phegley went 1-3 with a double. Hopefully, getting things going.
  25. Thank god we got to hear what Mariano thought about the President.
