  1. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 12:00 AM) Well, Tyler actually hit that homer two weeks ago, but still... If you want to be technical….
  2. Matt Kemp just made a spectacular catch to end a game. Go See the Highlight. Immediately.
  3. Tyler Flowers hit a two-run bomb in game one. Q goes 1-3 with 2 BB's a run scored and an RBI
  4. Bit of a concern for a speed guy to have a leg injury. Hopefully, that's not the case.
  5. What's the motivation behind pitching to Mauer with Thornton? Also, why was Wise allowed to bat in the bottom of the 9th?
  6. Their's no moral victory in losing to the Twins. Yesterday, was our moral victory. This? This just sucked.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 04:03 PM) I don't watch the show, but I've got a good idea how a lot of male viewers will respond... I approve. I am weak. Also, don't watch the show it's terrible. Seriously.
  8. I’d argue that we could save about 10 plus runs per year if we had Nix and BA starting everyday for us at 2b and CF.. I say this as a guy who has nearly completely given up on BA.
  9. This is a fantastic idea, Getz is a guy whose skillsets could match very well with some of Podsednik's strengths.
  10. I will reiterate by disdain for this idea. I am not opposed to Nix being in the lineup everyday, but I feel like we’re seriously undermining his value by putting him in a less than premium defensive position.
  11. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 07:00 PM) I'm assuming they like his youth (still only 25) and think he has some upside, to go with that killer arm of his. Might not be bother that he can't take a walk, but hey.. it's the aggressiveness that counts right... Jeff Francouer is similar to Carl Everett in that, Everett doesn’t believe in dinosaur’s and Francouer doesn’t believe in OBP.
  12. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 06:59 PM) His house reminded me of a garage sale. Just lots of useless crap that nobody wants. Yep, the packrat rumors were clearly true.
  13. Betancourt and Francouer were both traded today and are seen as "upgrades" to their respective teams. This is a sabermaticians nightmare.
  14. Really unsettling pictures from the raid of Neverland Ranch. Guy was clearly a creep, something of a slob, and yes probably, a pedophile. http://www.606studios.com/bendisboard/show...ad.php?t=179292
  15. I am a change whorte. I will pick up anything as long as it isn't covered in urine.
  16. Betancourt is all kinds of bad, but the MAriners didn't really get much for him. Cortes might still have a future, so it's a decent gamble.
  17. I hope the Iglesias signing takes the Red Sox out of thre equation, as always, the Yankees are the XFactor here.
  18. I strongly approve of this thread and the opinions expressed within.
  19. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 10:47 PM) Stats are only a part of why I call him a bad baseball player. I call him a bad baseball player mainly because he doesn't act/play like a baseball player should. I don't like the way he carries himself on the field, I think he's got a god awful approach at bat, he doesn't seem to take anything seriously, he crys when he gets benched, etc. Big whoop, he walks a lot. I still say he's a bad baseball player. I also throw BA and Fields into the category of bad baseball players. Neither of them seem to know the fundamentals of the game. Well, BA knows how to field and run, but he has no clue at bat and is just going basically got by so far with god given talent. But with both of them, you see little leaguers with better swings then them. Good athletes with talent, but just bad baseball players. I think all baseball decisions should be made depending on how Bear Sox feels about a player. That'll be a hell of team.
  20. I want Cody Ross, but i'm hearing contrasting reports on just what his value is in the Marlins' eyes.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 04:37 AM) Just what we need, Josh Barfield or Andy Marte! I sense sarcasm, but that's actually a damn good idea Caufield.
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:08 AM) With Cook taking Allen's spot in Charlotte, they moved Kroeger from RF to 1B. Makes sense. This doesn't bode well for Josh Fields.
  23. Hopefully, this is a sign that Retherford is putting things together again. They need him if they're going to keep a decent pace in Birmingham.
  24. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 10:04 PM) Actually Haren would require more in trade. It's not just about quality of the player. You have to look at the contracts. You'd get Halladay for 1 year (2010) @ $15M. You'd get Haren for 4 years (2010-2012 +option year) @ an average cost of less than $12M per year. Advantage Haren thus a richer package required. Makes sense, i give.
  25. I’m really proud of how these guys battled, and frankly we should have won this thing. We squandered a lot of opportunities.
