  1. If Nix can hit semi-consistently there’s really no question that he’s a better everyday player than Getz.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 10:00 PM) See that piece of garbage that just gave up all those runs in tonight's game? The Indians gave up a PROVEN MLB player that plays multiple positions and has hit everywhere he's been for him, and we are pissed at moving Brandon Allen? There is some serious delusion on this board if you think adding another meh prospect to a group of meh prospects was going to net you an elite or even a great player. Pena slots directly into the 7th or 8th inning next year and gets to work with one of the best pitching coaches in the game. Good deal, but all in all nothing really that should warrant more than 5 pages on this board. Really, Rock? 'Cause Derosa for Perez and Allen for Pena are the same damn deal? We're dealing with upside, in a non-salary based move.
  3. QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:49 PM) What would have been a worthy return? I'd have packaged Allen in a three or four player deal for premium pitcher or bat.
  4. QUOTE (baseball17 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) haha thank you. I have been that creepy girl thats been reading everything for a few months and I figured its about time I said something It's cool i was on that boat for a couple months too. You'll fit right in.
  5. QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) There is no reason to think, as of right now, that this was a mistake. Except for those of us who don’t see Tony Pena as a worthy return.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:41 PM) They wouldn't have made the deal if they thought he sucked... Clearly, you aren't familiar with how the D-Backs work.
  7. D-Backs think Brandon Allen is 2010 ready. http://twitter.com/SI_JonHeyman/status/2524547374
  8. Gartrell with a three-run jack.
  9. "Efforts to contact his agent have been successful," said GM Kenny Williams. "Their efforts to contact their client have not been so successful. If he's out there Thursday, and shows a better mix between his breaking ball and fastball, he's got a place here. If he doesn't, he doesn't have a place here. Only he can dictate if he's ready." Colon pulled a similar stunt with Boston last year. "If he doesn't show up Thursday in Charlotte, somebody will take the mound," said Williams. "This train is going to keep rolling." http://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index.ssf/2...r_noshow_i.html
  10. The Michael Jackson memorial really creeped me out. Too many people only looking out for themselves, promoting a man, who was brilliant when he was younger, but ultimately, a pervert and a pedophile.
  11. Kenny, you came into a year by trading Nick Swisher, losing Joe Crede, picking up Bartolo Colon, and starting Chris Getz, Dewyane Wise, and Josh Fields. While i agree with many of these moves this should come as no suprise to anyone.
  12. If Coop can make something of Pena's power sinker we might have a nice pitcher on our hands. Regardless, we'll have a better pitcher then Kimmy Gobble.
  13. This move really angered me. But I believe in Kenny Williams, and maybe that’s all that matters.
