  1. Scotty Pods new hitting mechanics are fantastic. This might be an area where we need to give Walker some credit.
  2. QUOTE (nyck170 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:53 PM) Hawk always says today's game is about having the best bullpen. My mother says i'm the most handsome boy in the world. Can we trade for me?
  3. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:42 PM) With Allen gone, Cook can take back his crown of the undisputed most overrated "prospect" on this board. I really don’t think Cook has a big league future. I just wanted him brought up to AAA, so we could advance a few more guys through the system without a 28 year old 1B/OF being in the way. Also, does anyone have Pena’s comparables from the latest Baseball Prospectus book? I’m always kinda curious about these things.
  4. Bulls***, Allen had enough of a track record and a strong enough skill set set to suggest success at a major league level. Too late now. Maybe David Cook will finally get promoted.
  5. This is absolute bulls***. I am so f***ing pissed, right now.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 06:57 PM) Pistons ready to hire Cavs assistant coach John Kuester. Didn't they justify firing Curry by looking for an experienced coach?
  7. Ah, nice merge. Sorry about that guys. I’m inclined to agree with the buffet comments.
  8. According to Joe Cowley, as reported on Boers and Bernstein, KW has no clue as to the whereabouts of Bartolo Colon, who was supposed to make a start in Charlotte this week. I wonder if he’s pulling a similar stunt as Odalis Perez, where he wants to opt out or if this a legitimate concern.
  9. Jared Mitchell is at the Cell tonight, and is taking media questions, sounds like he's committed to sign and it could be soon.
  10. Beckham doesn't want to lose her loveeee tonighttttttttttttttttttttttttt! God, is that stuck in my head.
  11. Jake Arrieta is fantastic. Marquez better pitch his ass off tonight, if the Knights are going to compete.
  12. Future Sox was just brought up on Boers and Bernstein. At 3:58 ET, 2:58 CT. You guys are moving on up!
  13. I love Tyler Flowers. He came into this organization with a great love of the game and i'm really happy to see Dayan follow his lead.
  14. QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 06:06 AM) How is McNair just sitting on the couch? Ide imagine he wasn't just watching TV then got blasted, and the person who found them actually came into the place.. saw them.. went and did something.. then came back.. So basically, McNair is just sittin on the couch shot in the chest twice and the head twice.. I don't get that I imagine he was thrown backwards from immediate impact. And probably slumped over a bit on the couch. He’s not like, legs on the coffee table type sitting, he’s just positioned on a couch. God, this is morbid.
  15. QUOTE (3E8 @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 12:05 AM) Last year Edinson Volquez went 17-6 with a 3.21 ERA and 206 strikeouts. He finished 4th in the NL ROY voting with 6% of the share He wasn't a rookie. Everyone who voted for him was either extremely stupid, or victim of a hilarious misunderstanding.
  16. Great interview up at Sox Examiner with Tyler Flowers. Nice read, with a lot more about how quickly all the Birmingham kids befriended each other. http://www.examiner.com/x-425-Chicago-Whit...h-Tyler-Flowers Also, Flowers and Viciedo appealed to the White Sox higher-ups and were granted permission to play in both the Futures Game and the AA all-star game on consecutive days.
  17. A's trade for Scott Hairston. http://twitter.com/FollowThePadres/status/2490063415 Nice move by the A’s. Hairston has a really nice contract to go along with a decent skillset. Padres have fallen in love with Tony Gywnn JR and want to open up AB's for Venable and Blanks.
  18. I don’t think the bat is the issue it’s his foot. If he’s running tentatively the whole thing could be shot for the year.
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 06:09 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-m...p&type=lgns How does the gun end up under the girl's body? I assume she shot him then herself. Fell forward after the shot to the head. Her arm probably was tilted inwards.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 05:36 PM) Rongey is a complete dope. I just think he’s way too hesitant to take a firm position on any subject. He’s walking a fine line between company man and analyst. He seems like a good guy though, and I like and agree with a lot of what he has to say.
  21. Yep, poor Rongey has to put up with a lot of crap. I hope he's paid well.
  22. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 05:29 PM) There goes the core future of the Sox Wow, you must highly underrate the big league futures of Vicideo, Danks, Flowers, Hudson, and Mitchell.
  23. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 04:29 PM) The 2005 White Sox. Hell Yeah. Thread.
