  1. We hit Dempster hard last year. Let's make it a White Sox Tradition.
  2. QUOTE (beautox @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 11:17 PM) Nice little piece on the barons http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=5061737 That made me smile. The 2009 Barons team was one of the best teams this organization has ever hosted. I love how excitable Jordan Danks is, a bit of a contrast from his brother.
  3. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 10:37 PM) So I guess they didnt quite finish the job? I’m not giving the full on mea culpa. It wasn’t until Texas started hitting bombs that they got back in the game.
  4. In the first game of the DH Kroeger hit an 8th inning bomb off one of the better Red Sox prospects Hunter Jones. It's also sad that we can say Jeff Marquez had his best start of the year today.
  5. QUOTE (Ron @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 09:39 PM) Harangody goes back to school. Good i get to watch my Huskies take him to it a couple times a year again.
  6. Sucks having to wait another day for Sox baseball. I'm thinking we'll do well against Dempster though. Like that time Nick Swisher beat the hell out of his pitching last year.
  7. Of the top 5 home-runs hitters of the early 2000’s only Jim Thome has escaped suspicion. Thank god. Not sure how long it'll last, but I’m happy to see one of the most genuine guys in the game get some credit, rather than damning accusation.
  8. QUOTE (Adele_H @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 08:56 PM) Defensively Since 3B has always seemed destined for Beckham (his lateral quickness and agility are not suited for either SS or 2B where you want guys like Pokey Reese or young Furcal), Viciedo looks like a future DH. Pokey Reese? Really? Reese was a balls out defender, but his limited offensive potential is what killed his career. Beckham's offensive abilities make him a plus-plus option at 2b and SS. His defensive ability as demonstrated by his success at 3b is greatly helped by great reads on balls, and the ranger to go left and right. He’ll be just fine in the middle infield.
  9. QUOTE (mreye @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 07:33 PM) I like this one better anyway. Wow, that was really nice. Great find.
  10. QUOTE (Adele_H @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 08:51 PM) I am sorry, how is this NOT Jerry Owens 2.0 again? (serious question as I never seen him play) He's a white, low average, High OBP guy. With limited pop, decent speed and okay baseball instincts. Not really the same guy.
  11. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 08:17 PM) Why is no one reporting this: http://www.infowars.com/service-inspector-...-kevin-johnson/ I heard about this on Glenn Beck. Obama just eliminated the only real check on power that people had over his community organizer friends. Wanna see something funny? Inspector General Reform Act of 2008 (co-sponsored by Obama) (a) ESTABLISHMENTS.—Section 3 of the Inspector General Act of 1978 (5 U.S.C. App.) is amended by striking the second sentence and inserting ‘‘If an Inspector General is removed from office or is transferred to another position or location within an establishment, the President shall communicate in writing the reasons for any such removal or transfer to both Houses of Congress, not later than 30 days before the removal or transfer. Nothing in this subsection shall prohibit a personnel action otherwise authorized by law, other than transfer or removal.’’. Yeah, Obama didn't do that.
  12. I’m enjoying watching “small ball” bunt happy Texas being pounded into submission by ASU.
  13. Gets an RBI on a scathing single down the line. Playing 1st today.
  14. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 04:03 PM) Sox at Cubs: pods7, missile6, jd9, pk3, aj2, ba8, getz4, beckham5, danks1. WHAT? NO WISE???!!!!
  15. Sosa never passed the eyeball test, and now it looks like he didn't pass a couple of other tests either. I'm alarmed that these names continue to leak without repercussion.
  16. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 05:23 PM) So actually you couldn't care less about the Cubs. Damn it, Santo.
  17. You don't boycott a team, because of one player. You instead boo that player, while rooting for the team.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) This probably sounds odd, but... I want the Sox to get off the damn fence. I Not odd at all. I'd like to get a decent read of this team and what they really have to offer for the next few months.
  19. QUOTE (beck72 @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) I agree. The sox aren't going to get rid of Wise because he's booed by fans. What's the alternative? Cheer him for contributing nothing, and hoping KW gets the hint?
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 01:00 PM) ha, Waddel and Silvy just launched Bruce Levine because he came on and whined that they didn't play his opening and talked about news that the Broncos will try to appease Marshall and trade him. Silverman just cut him off and ended his segment Hah, seriously? That's great. Bruces's theme song is pretty awesome though.
  21. I love how we've established such a great pipeline with Cuban talent. This can't do anything, but help us in the future as an organzation.
  22. The kid who's pitching for SO MISS, right now. Is a White Sox draft pick. He's having a really hard time locating the ball.
  23. Don't worry even if the Cubs sign a free agent, chances are it will be the wrong one. Drink up, my friend.
  24. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 06:30 AM) So then why don't you? What exactly do you mean? I’m going to infer that you’re talking about some of my posts on the Cubs forum. I’ll just say that I don’t really care about the Cubs over any other team. Yes, I like to see them lose, because they’re essentially a rival to the White Sox, but I don’t care that much, because they’re not even playing in the same league. So, while I can openly be really blasé about the Cubs, I can tell you that I hate the Twins, the Tigers, the Indians, and the Yankees. ETC. The Cubs don’t really impact, my day-to-day enjoyment of the game of baseball.
