  1. Why is it that i always get the away broadcast on extra innings?
  2. The Cubs had the best offensive in the league last year, and one of the better ones back in 2007. Gerald Perry is paying for Jim Hendry's mistakes. Personally, i'd love to give Perry a job with the Sox.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 01:59 PM) So they're making him go to a community school just so he can be eligible earlier for the draft? Exactly. He'll get his High School GED as quick as he can, and go to a JUCO/CC that will give him tougher competition and more draft hype.
  4. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 01:49 PM) yeah, but we are starting to see kids that arent dumb that are considering going overseas now, because they want to get paid. And this makes me wonder as well, why isnt this kid going to a major school for a year? If he is going to get his GED and compete in JUCO college sports, what is preventing him from going to a major Div 1 school? If the kid goes to a div 1 school he can't enter the draft until after his sophomore year.
  5. Poreda is representing more then just the White Sox. "Poreda said he had extra motivation before he struck out slugger and fellow Jewish player Ryan Braun. "I actually thought about that when he was coming up, the battle of the Jews,” Poreda laughed. “But he's a great player, amazing, and I was just trying to do my best.” http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-1...0,4760306.story
  6. “I'm not going to say they're great at-bats, but he fights for his at-bats,” Guillen said. "I was a little aggravated [in one game when he swung at the first pitch] in four at-bats. I don't think that's the right approach. But I think [hitting coach] Greg Walker talked to him and said ‘You have to get a better approach at the plate, see more pitches’ and see how he handles it. In the field, he has played pretty well. Hopefully his bat comes along." http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-1...0,1294965.story
  7. This is what we should be looking at. Pods Ramirez AJ Konerko Beckham Anderson Getz Wise Buehrle
  8. QUOTE (Nokona @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 01:39 PM) The kid is sixteen. He's got a pretty swing. Color me unimpressed His bat speed is insane.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 01:30 PM) Well, if we lose the rest of our games.... Let's do this thing.
  10. Really, Beckham should be hitting sixth in the lineup. He's taking better swings then half of the people in this lineup
  11. Willy Taveras is in a career worst 0-32 slump. Not exactly what you want from a leadoff man. http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/news/articl...sp&c_id=cin
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 11:35 AM) I didn't have a problem with the chants. I think calling Miller Park, US Cellular North, is disrespectful to the Brewers organization. I would hate if any fan base did that to their opponents park. Sorry, I'm not the type of fan that goes to other teams parks and acts like that. I'd like to distance myself from any fanbase that does that. I don't put any energy into Cubdumb. I was just using them as an example. It was actually meant as a bit of a jab at the Cubs. My bad. I just find it annoying that they're so proud of their "domination" at Miller Park. IF anything, we've proven that our fans can travel just as well as the Cubs fan do.
  13. Anyone know when Freddy's first start for the Knights is?
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 12:27 PM) Cubs fire hitting coach Gerald Perry and replace him with Von Joshua. Perry wasn't the problem. I can't see this solving any of their woes.
  15. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 01:28 AM) If you go up there looking to walk rather than hit, you won't last long. There's nothing wrong with getting walks, but that is a god awful approach at bat. In the plate appearance in question, Jared Mitchell saw one good pitch and took it. He was clearly looking to get on base. Had he had a few more strikes on him, i'm sure he would of swung away, but in this sitiuation he was well in his right to take the walk. Also, it's never a bad idea to take a few pitches and seek a walk. It should never be a hitter's priority, but you take what the pitcher gives you.
  16. David Cook wilth a solo shot.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 13, 2009 -> 11:17 AM) Zach Greinke Josh Johnson Roy Halladay Stephen Strasburg I'd put Lincecum on the pitchers list but I just dont trust him staying healthy You do realize that Josh Johnson had Tommy John, right? And that Tim Lincecum is the best pitcher in baseball and has never had a history of injury trouble?
  18. Robbed of a hit down the 1st base line by a diving stop.
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 13, 2009 -> 10:09 PM) Will this cause Mousavi supporters to attempt an attack on Ahmadinejad? It's possible. The real wildcard is whether their's enough anger amongst the Iranian youth to attempt to overthrow the Ayatollah. He's the man with the real power.
  20. Somehow Mousavi lost his home province by a considerable margin. A province that’s been know for it’s loyalty to the man.
  21. If a kid goes up looking for a walk and gets it, I can't complain. Complacency can't be punished when it produces results. If the kid goes down looking on that fastball... hell yeah, I’d be pissed, but still he took the best pitch of the at bat for a strike and then laid off the crap.
  22. I'm loving the "Let's Go White Sox" chants. Great to see our fans travel to Wrigle- US Cellular North.
