  1. Hah, the guy at the tigers table looks like Stanley from The Office
  2. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 06:38 PM) If the Tigers pick Crow, I will puke. i wouldn't be suprised to see Sheppers either.
  3. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 06:35 PM) With the way things are going are we gonna pick before tonight's game start? We should be around pick 21 around gametime. I imagine Hawk and Stoney will announce it on air.
  4. How sick are the Giants going to be in two years? If they can turn a decent profit on Sanchez, a core of Lincecum, Cain, Baumgardener, Alderson and Wheeler would be insane.
  5. Let's make a deal. If we get Brothers i'll change my username to BrothersLover69 for a week. That's how excited i'll be.
  6. Good deal, Wheezey. You keeping sucking and we'll keep booing.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 10:17 AM) In baseball, I personally think its a mistake in the first few rounds to target needs that specifically. First few rounds, you go get the most talented player available at that time, regardless of position. You might emphasize more upside+risk, or more stable with lower upside, but that's about it. Then, after the first few picks, you start looking at the system (those first few picks included) and say, OK, what are we thin on? Then you go get the best available in those areas (though if some name falls that you can't pass up, you get them, of course). Draft wise, I’m definitely a best player available type guy. I’m just saying is if the scenario comes down where it’s Jared Mitchell or Brothers. The choice is pretty clear.
  8. My signature would like you all to eat your hearts out. Personally, I can't get enough of CR/AP.
  9. I really wonder what Field’s driving at here. He’s really a mellow guy, so unless he’s heard some pretty damning evidence that this organization is done with him, I have no idea why he’d even open his mouth.
  10. I really like his confidence too. “I ain’t never going back.” Anyone think we might get one of those crap Aardsma package for Colon?
  11. I think the Poreda call up reaffirms the need for another power arm in the system, preferably, another lefty. .
  12. Wow, this is part 2 of the future is now movement.
  13. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 10:02 AM) What channel is the coverage on? I am guessing MLB network. Yep, also streaming on MLB.com.
  14. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 11:42 PM) They just showed Andrew McCutchen's two triples on SC....that f*** is fast. He has a different kind of speed. For him, it's all in acceleration, once he rounds first he can go to a whole 'nother level.
  15. Did anyone else find the whole David Duchovny experience uncomfortable to watch?
  16. Why, with the success of Jordan Danks, and the semi-success of John Shelby would this organization still think that toolsy project OF is still a priority with our first pick?
  17. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 11:22 PM) Be nice if BA got some consistant playing time.... Hey, remember that time when BA was hitting really well, and then Wise came back and we forced BA into a platoon that he had no business being in? Yeah, those were good times.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 11:08 PM) I've been raving about him for a while and than after seeing him play in person, holy moly. Albeit I happened to see him just crush the ball in two of his AB's and make two very good plays at 3rd base. I still don't know if he'll make it at 3rd and he defiantely doesn't have a killer arm but he's really a good athlete and I think he'll f***ing rake fastballs. So he should be fine to produce in at least the minors. Who wouldn’t want a guy who legitimately deserves the nickname The Louisville Slugger? Dominquez ties the Big Hurt’s 3-homer mark. http://www.codball.com/2008/07/10/chris-do...-3-homers-mark/
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 10:32 PM) Wait, the guy can hit like nobodies business. Massive power, good average. I don't know if it'll project in the majors but I love the s*** out of his offensive ability. Defensively, well, don't know if he'll stick or not but I have little doubt that he'll rake in the minors (at least in the minors). Imo, he was the best offensive 3rd baseman in the college this past season. I love being agreed with. I have no idea why Dominguez isn’t more highly rated. He’s a bit raw in a lot of areas, but he’s absolutely explosive with the bat.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 11:03 PM) I don't know if he'll hit 40 Hr's, but you might be right and i wouldn't be shocked if he ended up with 35, but I also wouldn't be shocked if he was more of a 20-30 HR guy. He's got a nice swing though and really keeps getting better and improving his game. Given that Allen could steal about 15 and has pretty good range in the field, a slight dip in power wouldn't kill us.
  21. ThunderBolt

    Sigh

QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 10:05 PM) I'd be curious as to what Joey Cora's record is as Sox manager when Ozzie is not there because of ejection or family busness... Their pretty much the same type of manager.
  22. So, that's what Jose looks like with the splitter working. I like it.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 10:08 PM) I'm thinking Fields will get traded to the Reds for Jared Burton or to the Giants for some minor league arm. Jared Burton has filthy stuff, but still I don't think i'd take just him for Fields
