  1. The Arizona-San Diego extra inning affair was incredibly entertaining.
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) Angels are in desperate need of bullpen help. Dotel? Linebrink? Brandon Wood?
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:57 PM) Konerko has said on many occassions Walker fixed him. But don't listen to him, just your own very wrong opinion. And if every failure can be blamed on Walker, why wouldn't a guy who was acquired for an A ball first baseman and was almost a MVP not be a feather in his cap? Why wouldn't Fields and BA, two highly touted first rounds picks be a sign of failure?

Just got back from The Hangover. Great flick.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:54 PM) Magglio Ordonez won a batting title, didnt he? Willie Harris developed both power and a contact rate.
  6. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:52 PM) He doesn't hold enough blame to lose his job because minor league "Studs" Brian Anderson and Josh Fields, can't get it done at the big league level How many teams do you think would trade for Brian or Josh? Yeah Why shouldn’t he take blame for two great minor leaguers failing to carry their success into the majors? Didn’t you just argue that he deserves credit for Q and Konerko?
  7. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:48 PM) My arguement is that BA and Fields don't have major league talent above a .230 or .240 batting average and an OPS over .700 Is that what you'd accept as OK? Then stop head-hunting for Greg Walker, because these two kids just aren't very smart to begin with My argument is that these kids had and have promise that was never fulfilled at the Major League Level. These guys were great Minor League players who failed to carry sustained success into their major leaguer performance. While you can blame a large part of that on mindset, are you going to tell me that the hitting coach escapes all blame?
  8. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:44 PM) Because nobody who had good numbers in the minor leagues has come up to the big leagues and not succeeded. Who was the hitting coach? The arguement you made is that BA and Fields never had any talent. That's B.S, they just haven't realized it when they got to the Majors.
  9. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:40 PM) Anderson is? Fields is? Getz is? Why is it so hard to fathom that the reason our young players suck this year is because wait They're not good enough? What can walker do with s***? You wanna tell me that the first thing you thought when you saw Field and Ba's minor league numbers was that these two kids were going to be busts at the Major League level?
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:40 PM) I'm glad you're a baseball executive and know this. Quentin, Ramirez, Konerko, Dye came back after being awful with Oakland and he was healthy his final year there. As I said, the White Sox line-up has a lot of crap. That's not on Walker. Dye almost had a career ending injury with Oakland. It wasn't until he was fully healthy and had gotten re-adjusted to major league pitching that he started performing. Alexei was on the Cuban National Team! He was always this good, and both Q and Konerko were huge prospects who received their first fulltime opportunities with us.
  11. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:36 PM) Nobody can prove one way or another that Quentin's resurgence was because of Walker True, Q was always a big deal of a prospect. He was just always hurt. I was just throwing him out their before Dick Allen could.
  12. Ah, so this is Wes "The Walker" Whistler. I remember if from the minors, when he walked everybody, had s*** peripherals, but was called up anyway, because of his ERA.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:33 PM) Why is Cooper not getting any crap for Colon giving up all of these home runs? There are a lot of people on this board that make no sense. If the Sox offense is bad, its on the hitting coach. If they give up 6 runs in 5 innings, the pitching coach has nothing to do with it. Coop's shown he has the ability to make people better from his teachings. Who other then Q has shown a marked improvement under Walk?
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:30 PM) Great job there by Walker, avoids the shutout. What does a hitting coach do exactly, DA? Say," f*** cares, if you don't hit", and just sit on the bench? No, Walker teaches mechanics and approach to hitting. We don't hit. We don't even squeeze a run across eight f***ing times! Someone needs to take the fall. Edit: Okay, we just homered. Still pissed though. Just not as much.
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:19 PM) That better be the last pitch I see from Colon in a Sox uniform. Greg Walker can join him. How many f***ing shutouts before someone fires the coach whose job is to prevent them?
  16. I just saw the score. What the hell is Colon throwing out their? Batting Practice?
  17. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 04:10 AM) We'd either have to really suck for this to happen, or Danks needs to blow our sucks off in the minors, both are very possible.
  18. I really like Getz, but if we're talking about potential and future use for this team the answer is Josh Fields. I'm not really sure that they have a lot to do together. If their's a roster battle that Getz's involved in it's with Nix or Beckham.
  19. Chris Dickerson's D looked really pretty out their tonight.
  20. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 02:03 AM) Fixed. I enjoy your correction. Have they had a tolerable song since Crush?
  21. I'm also not on the Jared Mitchell bandwagon. Their was nothing about the kid that impressed me.
  22. Ladies and Gents: Gavin f***ing Floyd!!!
  23. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 06:22 PM) im fine with jenks as the closer....but i personally think Thornton is the better pitcher I'm from the camp that says your best pitcher should get more high-leverage innings then your closer, so i'm fine with that.
  24. Seastrunk looks solid behind the plate and has a very, nice fluid approach at the plate. He needs to work on waiting for pitches, but he's got good strike zone recognition.
  25. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 06:42 PM) aaaand Mr. Mike MacDougal has been announced the closer for the Nationals. Makes sense. Hell was really cold today.
