  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 07:16 PM) I'm definitely on the athletic/toolsy outfielder bandwagon. I'll be happy with any one of Mitchell/Williams/Jackson. I'm stuck between a power arm and a toolsy OF.
  2. Kelvin Jimenez was outrighted off the 40 man roster.
  3. Rice is on ESPN if anyone's interested in watching him behind the plate.
  4. Anyone nothing anything about LSU pitcher Anthony Ranaudo ? I'm watching him right now, and he pounds the strike zone. He's third in the NCAA in strikeouts. 5. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 03:39 PM) McLouth is under contract for 3 more years. The White Sox don't need an OF for 3 more years. /story +1, if we do get a placeholder CF it won't be for anything more then 2 years. Not with Jordan Danks performing in our system.
  6. I'd like to see his arm action when he's actually in game. Right now, it looks awful. No accuracy, with too big an arc on it.
  7. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) Gwyneth Paltrow had on such a short dress last night that she had to cover her "lady area" with her hand when she was sitting down. How is this a problem? God, i'm creepy.
  8. It sounds like it was auto-erotic asphyxiation. Which is weird considering anyone can get their rocks off on Bangkok
  9. QUOTE (VAfan @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 03:28 PM) Just a couple of responses. First, I'm no expert on Nate McLouth, but how did he win a Gold Glove if he's not much as a fielder? A lot of his “spectacular” plays got lot publicity on national television. Those voters who weren’t objective failed to notice that these dives were necessary due to McLouth’s startling lack of range and inability to get good reads of the ball off the bat.
  10. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 12:19 AM) Do you have a link for the interview? I believe it was something that Rongey mentioned. I'm not 100%.
  11. Deadspin did some research on the 570 foot homer story and it seems like it could be plausible. http://deadspin.com/5279112/tracking-bryce-harpers-moonshot
  12. Nice projectable frame with great stuff. Definitely a solid pick for us.
  13. I couldn’t stop crying after the game so I tried to get some sleep. I woke up in a puddle of my own urine and in a Wonder Woman consume. Neither of these things made sense, but one thing is for certain. THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT GORDON BECKHAM!!!
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 08:28 PM) Any chance we'll see Danks before the year's out? Buddy Bell's been talking about the kid being major league ready. We could see a promotion to Charlotte by the end of the year.
  15. His play today inspired very little in me other then the compulsion to vomit. I have changed my colors, i am now a Tigers fan. Boy, that Clete Thomas is the greatest!!!
  16. The Ump gave Johnson the win on a bases loaded 3-2 pitch from Brian Wilson to Adam Dunn that was clearly a ball. This still doesn’t take away from the great things that Johnson has accomplished throughout his career.
  17. Buddy Bell was just interviewed and said he thinks Danks is major league ready. I imagine things might move rather quickly for the kid if we don't have our situation CF figured out by the All Star Break.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 08:08 PM) Four teams. Four rainouts. See you tomorrow. They've all just given up now that Beckham's up, ay?
  19. Mclouth is an overrated defensive player with a decent bat. The Pirates were not actively shopping him, the Braves approached them, and “blew them out of the water.” I imagine KW has more important things on his mind.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 04:46 PM) Just grabbed him for my fantasy team I got Hanson and Beckham within an hour of each other. It's been a special two weeks for prospects.
  21. Paxton might be my second favorite lefty in the draft. It's a shame he's a Boras client, because that slider-fastball combo is lethal.
  22. I love how the Athletics only played two good players tonight. Holliday and Giambi. And we pitched to both of them repeatedly.
  23. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 11:30 AM) The bashing of Jeter's defense is one of the greatest examples of hyperbole in the history of the internet. He should've been moved to 3B a few years ago and he never had great range to begin with. But he was far from a "horrible" defensive SS in his prime. No, no it isn't He has no range, never has. Why do you think he's does those gazelle hops, for exercise? He's compensating for little range to his left or right.
  24. Padilla got Ponsoned. Sounds like he's a lazy, arrogant jerk.
