  1. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 10:10 AM) Lou Pinella seems to be losing this team and either he doesn't care or the players do not. Their bullpen consists of 1.5 guys and I am not sure Marmol is even a 1. Their starters are covering a good portion of this by going deep into games but the offense is not making it easy. If Milt is out, they are in serious trouble. Marmol isn’t just a one, he’s one of the better ones in the league. As soon as he gets his control issues down he’ll be back on track. The rest of the bullpen is a black hole. Which Jim Hendry should have to publically account for assembling.
  2. Solid episode last night. Show's finding its footing fast.
  3. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 06:50 AM) The Pirates would be silly not to take that option. . . Having Sanchez in our lineup is druel worthy! Hmmm i wonder if KW could offer Pittsburgh a deal they can't refuse THIS SEASON! No offense Chris Getz. . . Sarcasm, i hope?
  4. I like Richard, because he's not afraid to learn and he's not afraid to fail. He's a fighter, and he deserves every bit of success he'll get.
  5. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 06:48 PM) What are your thoughts on Tyler Flowers? Maybe we can trade him for someone who hasn't taken PED's??? can Tejada play 2B? What about Beckham at 2nd and Tejada at 3rd? Oh please. Flowers was what 22 years old when he got caught and he gave his apology and moved on. Tejada used steroids and lied about them in front of congress. Do we really want that guy on our team?
  6. Prior to Gamel, LaPorta, Escobar, and Salome being promoted/traded Huntsville was an elite team. They're still very good. Luckily, the Barons are better.
  7. Hernandez locks it downs. Barons win 13-12.
  8. Hernandez with a K on a wild pitch runner to third with one out.
  9. If everything works out in their favor. Brett Anderson Trever Cahill Vin Mazzaro Gio Gonzalez Sean Gallagher Josh Outman Could make up a spectacular rotation.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 03:15 PM) The only reason Wise is on the roster right now is because of TCQ's injury. In another few days Wise will be choosing between Charlotte or another PCL or IL destination. I call bulls***. Ozzie loves Wise. We could have Kroeger up here, or Restovich. We don't. We have Dewayne Wise.
  11. Gartrell singles in Allen. Barons 13-12
  12. Why does KW continue to have Wise on his roster? Does he think Ozzie isn't going to use him?
  13. Past? Theodore Roosevelt. My very favorite political figure. He was a bit before my time.
  14. Cook just homered. Barons down by one.
  15. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 06:05 PM) Where would Morel play? Fair point, Marrero it is.
  16. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 05:41 PM) He wore #5 with the Barons, they have no #6 jersey. In fact they have no jerseys at all with a 6. No 6, 16, 26, 36, 46 etc. He wore #8 with Kanny last year. Eduardo Escobar was wearing #6 when Beckham joined the team. I think they'll give him #6 when he goes up. Ah, i saw he was wearing 6 with the Knights and kinda made a generalization. Sorry.
  17. He's been wearing 6 at every level, i imagine he'll keep it.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 03:50 PM) Trying to make sure the Barons reach the playoffs perhaps? Would the team get that much worse if they called up Morel or Marrero and Charles Shirek? I certainly don't want to rush these kids, but i wouldn't want to impede their development for a 28 year old Of and a bust of a 1st round pick
  19. Can anyone confirm this BA flu thing? Because Wise is starting and i'm a bit concerned.
  20. Broadway and Mcculloch. Dewayne Wise and Jerry Owens over BA. Trading Swisher. Almost starting Owens over Q.
  21. According to Tom Verducci, "history" (weird stat Verducci finds) says that the White Sox have no chance of winning the division due to our poor start. What a ray of sunshine! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...up/?eref=sircrc
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 02:58 PM) Which president or presidential candidate in the modern era can you point to that completely ad libed all of their speeches? That’s not the question here, because we both know the answer is that no such president has ever been completely unscripted. The really “issue” (if there is one at all) is has their ever been a president in history who has had the teleprompter issue loom as large as it has during his political career then Barack Obama? The answer is no.
  23. I still find it weird that Cook and McCulloch haven't been promoted. Both for (better or worse) have proven that they have reached their potential in AA, and need to make way for younger players.
  24. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 01:57 PM) I never heard this one before. What? I’ll acknowledge that it was a bit of a tired, but harmless attempt at humor, however, I actually am interested in finding out some of the behind the scenes issues behind it. There were frequent issues that emerged on the campaign trail about this very thing. One that occurred Bristol, VA comes immediately to mind.
  25. I don't agree with everything he says, but i find Mike Huckabee to be one of the more likeable people in the political world.
