  1. Cubs with a series of moves today. They DL'd Miles, sent downs Cotts and Scales, and called up a crap relief pitcher in Jason Waddell, a minor league veteran SS Andres Blanco, and Micah Hoffpauir part two: Jake Fox.
  2. The Giants wound want Gordon Beckham. No way around it. They need a middle-infielder with good pop and contact skills. Matt Cain's a good pitcher, an unlucky one, but i'm concerned that his skillset might fair rather badly at the Cell.
  3. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 27, 2009 -> 12:15 AM) AJ's slugging percentage is down, his OBP is down, his average is down. Are you stating otherwise? Sounds like he's getting older. AJ has has the lion's share of playing time for about 5 years now. It's only natural given his approach at the plate that eventually he'd falter and would have a low OBP.
  4. I'm a cheap bastard so i haven't bought ESPN insider (and won't) Anyone know who Keith Law drafted for us in his mock?
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 27, 2009 -> 12:46 AM) We're so lucky that the Angels swing at EVERYTHING. I happen to hate Mike Scisioa for this exact reason. Now, i love him. Thanks for that easy 9th, Angels.
  6. We're so lucky that the Angels swing at EVERYTHING.
  7. Anyone else kinda hate the midget cowboys Jack in the Box commercials? Those who aren't watching the West coast feed might not know what i'm talking about.
  8. I know I’m prone to overstating things, but I’m comfortable in my statement that Jordan Danks is very good at baseball.
  9. We're showing some excellent patience. This is a really great development for this team.
  10. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 27, 2009 -> 12:31 AM) I could not agree more. Dotel seems to be tougher the tougher the situation. He also has strong closer experience from Oakland.
  11. A strong case can be made that Chris Getz is the most fundamentally sound player on our baseball team. I’m also eating crow on my Colon pessimism for earlier. The Crow has been eaten. Also, the LA announcers love us.
  12. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 26, 2009 -> 04:28 PM) All of the roster updates have to be done manually, right? There is nowhere I can go to upload that info through the Wii connect? I’ve been manually updating my copy for the PS2 for about four years now. It’s a real b****, and just last week I actually reset all my progress, and have had to start over. I’ve managed to finalize the Al Central, D-backs, Giants, Rays, and Reds, but it’s killing me on the inside.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2009 -> 12:31 PM) Cubs fans clamoring for Josh Vitters. "He can't be worse than what we have now." Almost as dumb as Sox fans who want Beckham up. God damn I'm glad fans in no way shape or form have a say so in how a club is run. It's much, much dumber. Josh Vitters in 20 years old. He's also their only prospect.
  14. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ May 26, 2009 -> 10:25 AM) Maybe it's time to bat Brian second for a few weeks and see what happens. No way do you take Alexei out of the second spot.
  15. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ May 26, 2009 -> 12:43 PM) Blow it out yer Colon, Thunderbolt! Here's hoping for the best, but we're facing a team of dead fastball hitters with a one pitch pitcher. That pitch? A fastball.
  16. QUOTE (WCSox @ May 26, 2009 -> 12:08 PM) Paging Roy Oswalt. Please pick up the white courtesy phone. Peavy and Oswalt are actually best friends. So, getting Oswalt would make the Peavy trade far more possible, assuming we didn't trade the desired package... What? A man can dream, can't i?
  17. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 26, 2009 -> 02:38 AM) he was awful. and very lucky. I actually meant to type that it was great how he grinded out that start. So, yeah. You're right, he can't keep pitching like this or he'll be in for some harsh times.
