  1. This was Justin Edwards' draft scouting report: 105 Justin Edwards Olympia HS LHP L/L 5'11" 170 1987-09-07 HS 350K Comments: One of the top high school lefties out of Florida, he's shown good command of his fastball, change and curve. Velocity has varied, but he's hit 90 mph.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ May 9, 2009 -> 05:43 PM) Vroom Vroom, Thread Starta! I enjoy you, Brian.
  3. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ May 9, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) This post is almost the poplar opposite of what everyone else is saying about Contreras in another thread. I know. I retroactivley walked into that one, didn't i?
  4. I wonder how many of his guys KW sent down to watch Poreda's game? There's got to be some interest (given the Contreras sitiuation) on getting a good progress report.
  5. QUOTE (JustWin @ May 9, 2009 -> 10:46 AM) He's not better but he'll probably do so well that they don't even miss Aramis. Just like the luck they got with Jim Edmonds last year who couldn't buy a hit in San Diego but then all of a sudden was wonder boy for the Cubs. Freel will end up having a career year, watch. Edmonds wasn't luck, he was a good investment. He's out of Freel's league this is not goint to end as well for the Cubs as their last couple moves have.
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 9, 2009 -> 12:49 PM) Please don't compare Shelby and Cook. It was an arbitrary ranking system, they don't equate talent wise, if it would make everyone feel better we can just forget the post ever happened. I was tired. In conclusion, Retherford is good, Shelby is good, Cook is old.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ May 9, 2009 -> 12:45 AM) Was it Bill Lawrence? Indeed, it was.
  8. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 9, 2009 -> 12:46 AM) It'll be Broadway. I'm pretty damn sure. I'd rather have AJ punch me in the face then have to watch how that inevitably ends.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 8, 2009 -> 11:48 PM) Shelby and Cook, not in the same solar system as far as prospect status goes. Cook=Gartrell, if we want to be charitable to David. It's a shame too. IF he'd been able to figure it out two-three years ago he'd still be in the bigger picture, but a 28 year old kid in AA is not going to cut it.
  10. Ozzie's being a bit too stubborn here. (suprise!) The Missle has played center before, he's been fine out there, if Nix deserves to start then you find a way to start him, the same goes to Alexei.
  11. QUOTE (scenario @ May 8, 2009 -> 11:43 PM) ^^^^^^^^^ I'd start Richard. No hesitation. The guy started the futures game last year, made the olympic team, and then shut down the Rays in the playoffs. We're not talking about a chump entering the rotation, he's a kid with potential.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 8, 2009 -> 04:42 PM) I didnt think it was ruined in the first round, but whatever. Awesome action and corny dialogue, I will take it I actually thought the first one worked better as a comedy then as an action movie. Still enjoyed it though.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2009 -> 11:27 PM) Tribune suggesting 4 to 6 weeks max. I imagine Fontenot shifts to third, while Miles starts everyday. That's going to be a huge problem. Especially, with the way Lee's hitting, right now.
  14. It seems we usually split the propsects into tiers, discounting age: we'd have Poreda, Beckham, Viciedo, ETC, in the top tier, with Shelby, Cook a bit behind in terms of both performace and expectation. I think Retherford's hit well enough to put himself into the discussion, if he's wasn't already.
  15. The Ozzie has spoken. He Gone. http://whitesoxpride.mlblogs.com/archives/...postgame_1.html
  16. Is Retherford approaching Shelby/Cook prospect status, or is he already their for most people?
  17. Dollhouse had a hell of a finale tonight. Shame it probably won't be coming back next year.
  18. How about we do this when Getz stops hitting and Podsednik starts?
  19. We lost with Count, Is anyone suprised? Until Buehrle, Danks and Floyd show me there's no chance, then i'm not going to give up on this team
  20. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ May 8, 2009 -> 10:01 PM) Aflac All-American Classic We know he's Hawk's guy. He loves that duck
  21. QUOTE (BearSox @ May 8, 2009 -> 09:08 PM) McCulloch getting rocked again. So, that hot streak didn't last long, did it?
  22. It looks like Aramis Ramirez seperated his shoulder. Yikes.
