  1. I used to love you, Count, but it's time to cut the chord.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2009 -> 06:52 PM) This makes no sense...he looks defensively very, very legit at 2b/SS. Why in the world would we put him in CF? Yep, every amateur scouting report had Nix being a prodigy with the glove. You DO NOT put him in center. Not with Alexei or BA on the team.
  3. QUOTE (dasox24 @ May 8, 2009 -> 07:15 PM) From Sickel's blog: I Want To Go To There.
  4. Jeremy Guthrie just threw a get-me-over first pitch fastball down the heart of the plate to A-Rod. Who the hell told him that was a smart idea?
  5. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 8, 2009 -> 06:12 PM) Just a hunch, but I'll bet you get most of your opinions from listening to Boers and Bernstein. Or by not being a stereotypical meathead,
  6. QUOTE (earthshiner @ May 8, 2009 -> 10:28 AM) has there been a white sox player in the last 30 years thats been easier to like than MB? The only one that really jumps out is Baines. Thome?
  7. It is a nice trade for the Cubs. However, they can trade for all the utility infielders they want, but's it not going to bring Mark Derosa back.
  8. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ May 8, 2009 -> 09:35 AM) If this stuff is for losers, why is KC in first place? Insane starts from frontline starters, a great bullpen, and a hot start from their offense?

    Films Thread

QUOTE (T R U @ May 6, 2009 -> 08:37 PM) . They even fixed that in a line in the film. They say something to the effect of, "the bonding process has not completed". It's an easy fix, so i don't mind it. What they did with
  10. Mark Buehrle is a special person. A combination of a great guy and a great pitcher. Thank god, the White Sox have someone like him.
  11. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 8, 2009 -> 09:18 AM) I think Jose Contreras is in the lead for the opposite Cy Young. If they have one. Carlos Silva.
  12. AJ Hinch seems to be a big-up and comer, who was going to be a GM, if he didn't get a managers job. So, congrats go to him.
  13. This is a great segment Chisoxfn, keep it up. Trout seems to fall into KW's "grinder" category, but he does have talent. Naturally, i'd prefer someone a bit more well-rounded, but if the get can play ball, we oughta grab him
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 8, 2009 -> 08:47 AM) Is this kid a Borass guy? Why didn't he sign? Scheppers was coming off of Tommy John, and wanted high-first round money.
  15. Unless, someone kicks Greinke and Halladay in the nuts seven times, and then breaks their arms, i don't think it's going to happen.
  16. Jayson Nix, a prodigy with the glove, and not too shabby with the bat.
  17. Scheppers has his velocity back, assuming he can stay healthy till june, he's going to go early. There's is, however, a decent chance that he could fall to us. He's high-risk, high-reward.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 7, 2009 -> 09:32 AM) I loved Fringe when it first started but I haven't watched it much lately. I tuned out when it went off the air for a month. I believe i'm five episodes behind now.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 7, 2009 -> 04:52 PM) Yeah, looking back at Sandberg's numbers, he held on pretty well into his late 30's. He had two pretty lost seasons (due to injuries), but he did hit in the mid 20's for homers when he was 36, and only 12 when he was 37. That was his final season. I guess the "prime" for a career was moved from 27-30 back by at least five years (or more) by the Steroids Era. What a mess! Don't forget the fabled "divorce."
  20. The whole Cubs organization are whiny b****es about booes. The same thing happened when they went down 0-2 to LA in the playoffs. If i was a cubs fan, i wouldn't put up with this crap.
  21. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 7, 2009 -> 11:53 AM) Wouldn't surprise me one bit if they were, both would have their reasons. coughNookLogancough

    LOST!!!!

Nah, Jacob has to be Locke. Therein lies the problem, he won't kill himself will he?
  23. QUOTE (DanksFan @ May 7, 2009 -> 09:25 AM) Soxtalk and SSers rules!!! I agree with the above sentiment (i'd add Soxmachine their too), but i feel like South Side Sox has a lot of unrealized potential too. When i look at the content that sites like Athletics Nation, LoneStar Ball and even Bleed Cubbie Blue generates i can't help, but wish that SouthSide Sox could be a little more indepth too. For one, i wouldn't mind a more broader discussion on prospects, like what we have in future Sox, and also, i'd prefer the comments discussion to be a little less deadspin, and a little more informative.
