  1. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ May 7, 2009 -> 09:54 AM) of course he knew. GMs know what's going on. Yep, wasn't their a famous Paul Depodesta email about Paul Lo Duca?
  2. (Enters Thread) "Nerds" (Leaves Thread)
  3. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 7, 2009 -> 09:41 AM) It's not like the Sox haven't had their fair share of probable users over the past 8 years, hell a couple of fan favorites get thrown out there quite often. Cameron was caught correct? I know Belle and Cordero (NOT FAN FAVORITES have been caught), and i remember hearing something about James Baldwin and Roberto Hernandez, any confirmation?
  4. Matt Wieters being called up is a harbinger of the apocolypse. Prepare yourselves.
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ May 7, 2009 -> 09:23 AM) so, when do Cubs fans start crying about being robbed by the "evil" Manny last year while just ignoring Sosa I think most Cubs fan acknowledge Sosa. In fact, most try to ignore him. Ever since the corked bat incident, they've slowly jumped off the bandwagon
  6. I know Frank Thomas passes the eye test, and always has an out due to the football, but i'm very concerned that inevitably someone's going to go after him, or Griffey, or Thome. And we're all going to have to deal with the s***storm that this creates. Too often, we as White Sox fans, are able to remove ourselves from this as fans, i hope it stays this way.
  7. Holy, s***. It makes sense but... WOW.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 6, 2009 -> 09:37 PM) It's really a shame how far that franchise has fallen. \. Inept management at every level will do that to any organization.

    LOST!!!!

QUOTE (kev211 @ May 6, 2009 -> 09:21 PM) Fringe = awesome and it is done by Abrams. Abrams doesn't work on Lost anymore and hasen't since season 2 I think, but he was one of the people who mapped the whole thing out. It's an interesting theory and way to confusing for me to try to break down. J.J cowrote the season 3 premiere. Primary showrunners are Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 6, 2009 -> 06:18 PM) Fields is changing to 7 giving Pods 22. 7's my favorite number so i'm game. Still a bit lame though... Seems to imply that Pods will hang around post-BA too which makes sense.
  11. I'd say Dye and Thome are likley goners worst case scenario. Dotel's contract is decent enough to have around, and i can't imagine anyone taking Contreras off our hands.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 6, 2009 -> 05:48 PM) Cowley said something I hadn't heard before about Swisher. That he basically refused to work with Greg Walker all last season...and always deferred to his dad as his swing guru. Another reason it wouldn't have worked for him to come back here. We'll see what happens to him when he cools off in NYC. Maybe he had the right idea...
  13. This movie is shaping up to be a disaster of historic proportions. http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/05/06/exclu...r-in-moneyball/
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 6, 2009 -> 12:51 PM) Tampa and Florida seem to do alright as well. Atlanta was good for years turning over their roster adding a couple of homegrowns. Tampa seems to have a lot more opportunities to draft good young players, because they had the #1 pick for a couple years running. I think the real challenge is building a winning farm, when you consistently pick later in the draft.
  15. Getz is doing fine in the lead off, i'd move Alexei to second and Fields to 8th. Also, i'd hope BA would be back in two weeks.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 6, 2009 -> 11:42 AM) Maybe Boston is just a lot better in the lower levels of developing guys. Boston, Oakland and LA Dodgers are probably the best scouting/development organizations in the league.

    Finals Week

Finished Criminology at 8 today, bit difficult, but i think i did well. Was really worried about Comp Politics, but i handled that one on tuesday. Just have english tomorrow and then i can reflect on how bizzare this year was.
  18. QUOTE (JDsDirtySox @ May 6, 2009 -> 10:50 AM) Carlos Gonzalez of the Rockies. A former top prospect of the DBacks. Traded to the A's in the Haren Deal. Traded to the Rockies in the Holliday Deal. Now behind Dexter Fowler. I love the kid. I like this a lot. Kinda wishing i had though of it too.
  19. This team is so much fun to watch.
  20. I look forward to this new generation of White Sox sluggers, being b****ed at for playing "corpseball."
  21. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 6, 2009 -> 10:08 AM) You weren't here in 2007 I can tell though. A couple more losses and this place is going to be nuts. I'm still waiting for the first, "BRING UP, RANDY WILLIAMS" thread..
