QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 6, 2009 -> 06:00 AM) We arent close enough for you to tell me something like that I know, but I’m actively scouting for one. Like Kenny for an OF prospect.

Ozzie with his usual empty threats after loss like this

QUOTE (Cali @ May 6, 2009 -> 09:49 AM) WSI is positive? I know I havent even been on there in many many years, but I remember it being a black hole of nothing but bitter old people (sorry to all the bitter old people here) I remember hearing one of the cotton heads, pre-2005, proclaim the Sox would win the series before the cubs, but after hell froze over. "Shiny Happy people..." Or whackjob "proven theories" about how if anything good happens to the Sox, something bad will ALWAYS happen. I honestly wonder how some of the people of the site dealt with the sox winning the World Series. Sure they were excited but also had to be a bit empty inside that they couldn't b**** about how they'll never win one.... I'm inclined to agree it's the main reason that i joined Sox Talk. The majority of people here are good, friendly people, it seems like everything over their is either hostile or cynical. It's like a never-ending losing gamethread forum. -
Sox scouts on the lookout for young OF prospects

Why would anyone give up on Justin Upton? The kid has all the talent in the world, and is starting to figure it out! -
Lillibridge the leader to go back to Charlotte

Charlotte for Lillibridge? Winston-Salem isn't exactly bursting with talent.... Nah, it's fine. Poor, Gookie Dawkins is going to be benched for ths kid. -

Cody Ross from the Marlins, Milledge from the Nats, Dickerson from the Reds could all be had for a decent price. Not sure we'd want them though. Given their respective attitudes and question marks surrounding them. -
Even White Sox fans should admire Bobby Scales' detemination. Gets his first hit after ten years in the minors. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.j...sp&c_id=chc

I'm not making any judgements on this team until BA comes back and gets a week of healthy play in. -
I think we should bring up Beckham immediately

Matt Laporta has been in the minors for years. More to the point, he's dominated them. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 5, 2009 -> 10:37 PM) I've seen enough of Lance Broadway to last a lifetime. I certainly don't have the trained eye of a pro scout, but what the hell could anybody have seen in this guy to take him with your one and only first-round pick? It's going to take a while to undo the damage that wasting back-to-back first-round picks on him and McCulloch have done to our farm. 15 Lance Broadway Texas Christian U RHP R/R 6'4" 190 1983-08-20 4YR 56K | 350K COMMENT: Slender frame. Trim look. Rounded shoulders. Similar to Justin Duchscherer. Aggressive w/ FB, occasional avg velocity, control both sides of plate. Spiked CB, 12-6 break. Uses natural 3/4 CB as off speed. Command of both pitches. Fields position well. Players taken after him: Devine, Ellsbury, Garza, Rasmus, Volstad 29 Kyle McCulloch U Texas Austin RHP R/R 6'3" 185 1985-03-20 4YR 350K Comments: Became Texas' Friday starter last year and helped it win the national championship by going 12-4. He started slowly in 2006, but finished strong. He has been able to get the fastball up to the low-to-mid 90s to go along with a plus breaking ball, but it's his knowledge of pitching that really makes him intriguing. Players taken after him: Joba, Chris Perez, Cardenas Looks pretty s***ty In hindsight eh?

How is is that the D-Rays, and Orioles can suck for f***ing years and have Wieters and Longoria down in the minors for over a year, but the minute a division-winning team falters, we need to say f*** the arb clock, and call Beckham up? The kid needs to sink or swim for a while, no need to throw him in the deep end. -
This Dodgers team is fantastic.

QUOTE (tommy @ May 5, 2009 -> 10:04 PM) I hope we SINK this season, let's get some prospects in draft, promote half of Birmingham, get rid of Turtle Squad, and actually compete in 2010. Yes I'm pissed, doesn't look good with no bullpen for tomorrow. Nah, i want to pursue this s***. Two months from now, if things aren't right, we sell half these b****es, and let the kids play.

f***, we deserved that

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ May 5, 2009 -> 10:01 PM) Anyone else scared Broadway is going to walk home the winning run? Why? It's not like Broadway has the track record for-.... yes.
-
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 5, 2009 -> 09:59 PM) Ozzie wants to lose this game What tipped you off Alexei or Broadway?
-
Broadway has a lot to live up too now that Logan is gone. What with having the coolest name on the team and all.
-
Yeah, way to show the Royals that you're not afraid of Mitch Maier!
-
Everybody close your eyes and pretend that Broadway was one of those good 1st round picks.
-
We need to explore our options with Alexei. Our minor league options.
-
We pitch-running for AJ?
-
Very nice outing by DJ. Let's hope it doesn't get to Peanut/Butter Broadway time.
-
I just want to put this out their guys, but we still haven't lost this game.
