  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2009 -> 08:38 PM) Why in the hell would you bunt with 2 on when you're down 3 against CY Greinke? That's a good way to get fired. I'll give that one an America, f*** Yeah. Why the hell would anyone think that's a good idea?
  2. Who's more to blame for the Celtics looking like this against the Magic? The Bulls wearing them down or Vinny Del Negro?
  3. Richard is wonderful at being worked for long AB's, and then giving up basehits.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2009 -> 07:43 PM) Both were plays that easily should have been made, but we'll take it for Pods trade value. For who, Jerry Owens?
  5. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ May 4, 2009 -> 07:41 PM) 3 of those could have easily been called strikes Ah, i knew something wasn't right. I'm in a library watching on gamecast, it's very unhelpful.
  6. How does one walk, Mike Jacobs? Back to studying...
  7. Hi, my name is Aaron Poreda. You may remember me from such films as i'm a top prospect, who almost made the team in spring, who just threw a five-inning no-hitter, and is a Lefty who tops out at 97. Sooner the kid perfects that slider, the sooner we can get him up here. He's working with Perdew, Correct?
  8. Over/Under on a complete game, shutout for Greinke?
  9. People who talk on bluetooth in public, when they're not in the Car, or at some pressing business function, need to be imprisoned.
  10. This is killing me. Back to Comparative Politics. See you guys, later.
  11. QUOTE (scenario @ May 4, 2009 -> 07:10 PM) Barons' game ended early due to rain. 3-0 good guys. Poreda with a 5-inning no-hitter. Too bad it doesn't count as a no-no. That's a bit of a buzzkill, they can't just delay the game?
  12. Hah, Javy V just gave up another two-run bomb to Beltran. That's six Earned runs in the last two innings.
  13. As soon as Ozzie figures out that we need f***ing Alexei holding down an OF spot till BA gets back, the sooner we'll f***ing win a game. We can't run out these scrubs and then b**** about how we can't get Getz and Nix playing time.
  14. QUOTE (qwerty @ May 4, 2009 -> 07:01 PM) A hit and run should never be on when he is up, evar. So, the hit and run is a lot like Lillibridge. It should never be up to the MLB. EVER. God, i used to think the kid should start for the club at the start of spring. I was so damn wrong.
  15. Was changing the kid's mentality really all it took to get him to start hitting bombs? If this is so, Gerald Perry needs to get a hell of a lot more credit for the work he's doing.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2009 -> 06:50 PM) You'll never believe this...Javy was cruising along with a 3-0 lead, and then gave up 4 runs in the 6th inning. Wow, how unlike him.
  17. At least we're going to be on the recieving end of the "That's Nasty" segment on Baseball Tonight.
  18. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ May 4, 2009 -> 06:10 PM) i want a counter on how many times hawks says this pitcher throws nintendo like A bit OT, but did anyone else love pitching as Greinke in MVP 2005? The guy threw 94 heat, and a 56 curve, it was silly. Almost nintendo like.
  19. QUOTE (jamesdiego @ May 4, 2009 -> 06:08 PM) I'm really curious to see how he's plays third, since he's only been playing it for a couple weeks, right? Move over Lil' Bridge, Nix my man. Try hours.
  20. I enjoy how BA and BMAC are in an article with the headline of, "Ex-Major-leaguers". If Ozzie gets his way...
  21. Think of AAA, as more like AAAA. The majority of players in AAA have either stalled at the Major League Level, have nothing left to prove in the lower minors, but are log-jammed out of the majors, or are seen as projects. The best talent really is in AA. Players are usually sent down to face AAA pitching for its major-league quality breaking-pitches where as AA pitchers generally have better velocity, and stuff.
  22. I predict that if Poreda finishes this start in a solid fashion, things will get interesting very soon.
  23. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 4, 2009 -> 04:10 PM) I picked Cincinnati to win the division, don't count them out. They're 13-11 right now and none of their guys have started hitting with the exception of Votto. Their coach is Dusty Baker. I've counted them out.
  24. Here's a preview: f***, s***, Oney, this is for Venezuela.
  25. We're a slumping team (both sides of the game) in a crappy division. Yes, giving up is the most logical solution.
