  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2009 -> 11:33 PM) The Cubs bench is pretty damn good. Hoffpauir's a very good back-up 1B, and Miles is a good 2b/SS guy. Gathright gives them speed/defense in CF, and Hill seems like a suitable back-up catcher. Yes, but Lou doesn't use them well. Correct me if i'm wrong, but while Hill's been hitting well, Lou sat him for about two weeks straight last week. Gathright has become a bondafide pinch runner, and while Hoffpauir hits, he can't do much else.
  2. Wow, i left for two hours and they're still trying to play this thing?
  3. The Cubs offense has the potential to be really potent. However, they have no bench and they have no pen. Jim Hendry has done very little of value since stealing A-Ram from the Pirates.
  4. Joe Mauer is back with a vengence...
  5. I'm still really proud of these guys. Despite what's happened tonight.
  6. QUOTE (Cali @ May 2, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) If JorDanks, Beckham, Dayan, Allen and Flowers all playing together, maybe they just keep right on moving up together.... It's fantastic for our organization that Cook and Shelby are the chopped liver of this arguement.
  7. This would be yet another hilariously bad break for Brandon Mccarthy.
  8. Maybe we should resign JO as a pitcher? We coulld get at least a 65MPH fastball out of that golden noodle arm.
  9. Anyone know when Poreda's next start is? You go to think that if it's any good, KW will at least give it some thought.
  10. Quick recap? I've been watching the bulls s*** themseleves.
  11. Here's rooting for McCulloch i have a thing for bust-prospect redemption stories.
  12. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 2, 2009 -> 02:13 AM) I hope this isn't true: Damnit, Ozzie! Has he even looked at Getz's minor league splits?

    Films Thread

Saw Wolverine today, it was alright. IF i had to rate it as a film i'd give it a 6.5 out of 10, but i was entertained throughout
  14. QUOTE (kristofer @ May 1, 2009 -> 10:18 PM) podsednik must have an unbelievable winning record when he is actually in the game with the white sox. Wasn't there an article on "The Podsednik Effect" on Sox Machine? As i recall the results were bizarre
  15. I love hearing about the Barons. Keep up the great work, guys
  16. I hear Rondo plans on shooting Hinrich in the kneecap tomorrow. Gotta be at least a flagrant one, right?
  17. Don’t do this to me, Scotty. Don’t make me fall into manly platonic love with you again.
  18. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 1, 2009 -> 11:59 AM) Chills, Dude. I get chills. If we win this series, this will be right up their with the Scotty Pod's Walkoff in game 2, in terms of the pure emotional impact i can get through a simple video.
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 1, 2009 -> 12:07 AM) and regardless, I still don't think he was that good. He was an above average pitcher for 27 years. You're getting on a guy for pitching great for 27 years? Yes, there is a distinction between a pitcher and a thrower, but Ryan was both. Did you see his stuff?
  20. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) I actually don't think Nolan Ryan was that good of a pitcher. Wow. Are you... Seriously?
  21. If this pitch-tip thing is true, then there's no way A-Rod can come back from this. He'll have to be run out of the game by Selig.
