  1. QUOTE (chunk23 @ Apr 27, 2009 -> 07:48 PM) I really wanted to go to tonight's game. What a terrible time for finals. Tell me about it. I'm working my ass off on a comparative politics paper.
  2. QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 27, 2009 -> 07:14 PM) Only if someone gets promoted... and so far none of the Baron outfielders are stepping up. I wouldn't be suprised to see one of Owens or Restovich released when the lineup starts to stabilize. Then i see a promotion for both Cook and Danks.
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 27, 2009 -> 04:28 PM) there's no way Q didn't get laid that night Heh, this was from his bachelor party.
  4. QUOTE (Socal Cid @ Apr 27, 2009 -> 05:01 PM) I am looking forward to the beef chasers of 2005 facing each other Friday night: McCarthy versus BA. I almost wish we'd had Danksy lined up for that one. It would be a great story.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 26, 2009 -> 07:25 PM) Throughout his career with the White Sox, Guillen has deliberately made choices intentionally that kept us from winning. He really doesn't love the White Sox, and you can tell that from the Pythagorean numbers that he's one of the worst managers in the game. Mostly, he's held onto his job by holding onto grudges, and Reinsdorf really admires that in the staff he surrounds himself with. If we had had Cito Gaston as our manager, we'd have won at least 2 and maybe 3 World Series championships this decade. We'd also still have Aaron Rowand and Joe Crede, because they're just the kind of players you cannot win without, and Cito understands this intuitively. Guillen should still be a 3rd base coach with the Marlins or Braves, really. Iim assuming this is a green post, but i'll play along. Ozzie is not an X's and O's guy, but he is an excellent leader of men.
  6. Yeah, Scott Downs is one of the top ten relievers in the league, or damn close to it, and BA is showing some fantastic progress.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 01:21 AM) Oh give me a break. I was obviously joking. It’s a hell of a thing to joke about, isn’t it? I don’t want to sound slavishly defensive, I’ve got a sense of humor, I just don’t think the enormity of Greinke’s situation should be made a laughing manner.
  8. Is their anyone other then Pujols, that you'd rather have batting with the bases juiced then Alexei? Isn't it awesome for this team that this is a serious question?
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 02:01 PM) Just for the record, I always laugh when I hear/read Mark Prior was a bust. This is just my opinion of course, but Prior was not a bust, especially when he was pitching in the bigs, perhaps injury prone, but that was more on the dumbass running the team. I am still very scared for Cueto and Volquez BTW, same guy who happened to f*** up Prior's arm. Agreed, the guy pitched his team into the playoffs at an incredibly young age. What happened to him is dissapointing, but not bust worthy.
  10. I think Nix will take Owens's spot, which is technically Wise's spot, so no. However, i doubt Ozzie will let Wise lose his spot to injury, so yes
  11. Bullington’s got some really nice break on his pitches I can almost see why he was the first pick of the moneyball draft. Almost.
  12. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 10:49 AM) It's not just Luol that they can clear out. They can move Hinrich for expirings and still compete for a 2010 Free Agent I'm sure they'll do everything they can to get Chris Bosh via trade this offseason. Perhaps a sign-and-trade. I've heard that Hinrich to Minn, and Deng to Portland are the ideal scenarios for the Bulls. God, knows if they would bite though, maybe if Portland gets outsted early this year, they'll be moved to action.
  13. Slayer does have more then one girlfriend. One for every park.
  14. I think JVB is a strong candidate. Coop was very impressed with him, and they seemed to be making good progress together.
  15. This is the greatest pipedream of all time. It's not gonna happen, i would love to see it happen.
  16. Anderson with another good game. Sadly, it was meaningless.
  17. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 12:03 AM) Egbert has been optioned back to AAA, corresponding move to follow. The dream is over.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 11:51 PM) I wish Greinke would go back to being depressed again. This dude is really, really starting to scare me. Nice and tasteless, right there. You do realize the kid was almost suicidal at one point, right? He's got a world of talent and despite my White Sox fanboyism, i'd love to see the kid realize it
  19. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 02:11 PM) Colon will be fine. Send Contreras down for about 2-3 starts to let him get back into form. Bring up Poreda for those 2-3 starts to get his feet wet. Pretty much just repeat the El-Duque/ McCarthy '05 situation. We'd have to make up an injury for the guy, so he can "rehab" in Charlotte, but i'm all for calling up Poreda to see what he can bring to the table/
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 07:55 PM) For the Sox to make the postseason this year, Clayton Richard is going to have to become a dependable starter. There's no way the 4/5 guys will make it together in the rotation past May. I love CR, but he's way too valuable in the long-man role, right now. Especially, with either Colon or Contreras still being in the rotation.
  21. I'd rather say, ""f*** it" and call up Poreda then insert a guy like Byrd into the rotation midseason.
  22. Mark Prior was considered one of the best prospects in history. We're talking Hamilton/Wieters/Strasburg hype. It doesn't matter where Rowand was drafted, he was never expected to touch Prior. So, arguing that he held the same kind of value to a team during the draft is ignorant.
  23. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 04:56 PM) i thought masset was going to be given a shot at starting in CIN...no? Owings and Bailey outpitched him in spring.
  24. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) formatted for your sanity... Thanks, more manageable. Had to take a call, just cut and pasted.
