  1. The Bulls best chance is to run the Celtics to death.
  2. Congrats to Jack Egbert. It's great to see him finally getting a shot.
  3. Wow, this move is gonna suck. http://www.variety.com/article/VR111800262...yid=13&cs=1
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 05:05 PM) I barely even remember going to class in college. I mean I was there like 5-6 times, but those times really didnt make that much of an impression. Usually I cared more about what classes had hot girls. Im an intellectual as you can tell. See, my thing at school is that i have enough free time as it is without skipping class. I'm starting to think that it's because i have no friends.
  5. What are you interested in majoring in?
  6. Lillibridge shouldn't be starting for this team unless something terrible happens to half the organization, but he'd be a great option to backup center, and would help rid us of our recurring Jerry Owens epidemic.
  7. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 11:50 PM) Nothing much to report, I was too busy laughing while my friend was heckling Jacksonville's first basemen Matt Craig. Jayson Nix looked sluggish playing shortstop. Matt Craig's still playing? Wasn't he in the Cubs organization for years?
  8. I'm suprised we didn't keep German for depth purposes. Not really bothered though
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 09:09 PM) If Gates retires in a couple years, Obama should nominate Quentin to be Secretary of Defense. The Sox fan in him probably won't allow that though. Wouldn't that be BA's position?
  10. Danks is the better pitcher, Floyd has better stuff.
  11. I see Brinkey, JO, Dye, Buehrle, AJ, Carrasco, and Q in that picture.
  12. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 03:13 PM) Really? If Contreras' forkball is on...he's devastating. Colon should be last on that list. He's not a stuff guy anymore. I'm talking about right now though. Contreras still hasn't shown that forkball this year.
  13. Lillibridge would be great backup for BA here, it would allow us to punt Owens from the roster, and bring up Nix.
  14. 16 NICHOLAS SWISHER OHIO ST U 1B S/L 6'0" 200 11/25/1980 4YR 56k | 300k COMMENT: Muscular, athletic build on large frame. Body similar to Rusty Greer. Quiet hitting approach. Quick bat through zone. Takes hands to ball well. Aggressive hitter. Shows power from both sides. Instincts for the outfield. Playable arm. Son of former Major Leaguer Steve Swisher. That was Swish when drafted. This is him now: 33 Nick Swisher S/L 6-0 210 11/25/80 There's a ten pound difference, in seven years, which is to be expected. He's always been a big kid, now he's a big guy. The stories i've heard have been that he's a work-out freak, that really shouldn't damn someone as a user.
  15. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 01:08 PM) There are a few rumors that Swisher may have had some enhancements, and playing in Oakland didnt help that. Where? All i've heard of them have been here.
  16. In terms of stuff on the staff i'd say: Floyd (for the Curve), Danks, Buehrle, Colon, Contreras. Floyd's issue has always been confidence, it's an incredible testament to Ozzie and Coop that they managed to instill it into this kid.
  17. The hatred that some people have for Swish is completely absurd. So, what if he makes a good interview? He’s clearly a really witty and nice guy, that seems to wear on some people, who expect ball players to be professional, a fair percentage of the time. Guys, like Ozzie. I’m hearing guys like Lawrence Holmes and Cowley just unleash on the guy, and for what? ONE BAD YEAR. That’s it, there’s nothing to suggest he’s a villain, a roider, or anything else like that. He’s just a guy who had a bad year, at the wrong time, and in the wrong environment.
  18. Wow, the Barons are going to be even better for the next couple weeks. I would not be suprised to see Lillibridge shagging balls in Center, and to see Owens released when Nix is ready.
  19. IF Giambi plays for about four more seasons and averages around 30 homers he can get to 500. Not likely, but he’d be in the steroid-fueled 500th club.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 10:28 AM) So the only difference is that Statham shaves his head, since he is also brunette? Statham is ripped beyond belief, I dont know that he doesnt have the ability to pull off canning his accent, but the criteria you just listed doesnt scream to me "NOT JASON STATHAM", but whatever. You probably want Zac Efron because he is young and athletic Nice, you just owned the s*** out of me. No idea that Stratham was a brunette, just don't think he's physically right for the role. He's buff, yeah, but Daredevil is like a gymnast. I sound like a dork, right now. I hate, Daredevil.
  21. Anyone know when It's always Sunny in Philly is back?

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 04:49 PM) Why is that? Daredevil is a young, athletic, brunette, lawyer from New York who looks nothing like Jason Stratham and a lot like Ben Affleck. Yes, Affleck was terrible in that movie, doesn’t mean the casting director had the wrong idea just the wrong actor.
  23. QUOTE (JDsDirtySox @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 11:39 PM) I was able to get quite a bit of information on this situation from an insider. Without going into too many details... the entire team, and I mean everyone was tired of Swisher... Ozzie just happens to be the one who will talk about it. Was this insider Joe Cowley?
  24. QUOTE (wilmot825 @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 11:18 PM) I honestly think there was a rift between Ozzie and Swish that no one really knew. Both guys are great. I have a theory that the Swisher trade was more like a divorce between Swish and Ozzie. That there was just a fundamental disconnect in personality between the two. I don’t think Swish did anything overtly terrible, he joked around when things were bad, he was probably the guy behind the doll thing, he even pouted when benched, but who wouldn’t? I think Ozzie can be really internal when things are bad, yeah, he’ll lash out every once in a while, but who hasn’t seen him quietly seething on the bench when things get bad? I think he took that into the clubhouse with him, and that guys like AJ, Konerko, Thome, and Dye respect that and understand it. But when the Sox had lost a couple games straight, and here was Nick Swisher with that eternal grin on his face, cracking jokes, Ozzie freaks out. I don’t think Swisher did anything to help the situation, if anything he just continued being himself. Kenny probably, didn’t even want to trade him, but the Ozzie-Swish situation forced his hand.
