  1. Getz has more pop then Theriot, and while he has less speed, he's a much better baserunner then The Riot. This kid isn't just a grinder, he's a good hitter.
  2. Why would anyone be bothered by Red Eye? Why would anyone bother with Red Eye in the 1st place?
  3. I wonder if Obama's pitch didn't reach the catcher he would feel like he was part of the special olympics?
  4. Tony Gywnn JR is starting for the Brewers today. Means he's off the table.
  5. Depending on how one reads this story Cubs catcher Koyie Hill is either lucky as hell, a badass, or both. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AqXP...o&type=lgns
  6. QUOTE (Reddy @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 10:01 PM) not that anyone cares to make it worth bringing this thread back, but tomorrow I've got an audition for this beast. Got called in for Peter Parker... so fingers crossed. They offered it to Jim Sturgess of Across the Universe fame but he's turned it down... i'm hoping it stays that way. haha That's outstanding! Good luck, man.
  7. The Korean pitcher has a slow curve with limited break. It's still cool to see a slow curve, haven't seen a genuine one since Greinke abandoned his a while back
  8. Uribe didn't do a lot of things well, did he?
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) Uribe is in the lineup for SF. Scott Reifert's blog says some Sox players have some fun in store for Juan. The pitcher's do, it's called a breaking ball.
  10. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 10:20 PM) Assuming Beckham will not make the team. Getz - Regardless of the crippling pressure involved with leading off the bottom of the 1st he's the best fit at the top of the lineup given his tools as a hitter Ramirez - Outside of Getz there are no other high/moderate OBP hitters left to hit in the 2 hole, at least with Alexei hitting second you're getting one of your best hitters more plate appearances and late in close games I want him getting that 4th or 5th PA that might not be afforded to a #6 or #7 hitter and will be given to a mediocre offensive player like Pierzynski in Ozzie's lineup. Quentin Dye Thome Konerko Pierzynski Fields Anderson/Wise According to Pinto’s lineup analysis tool a lineup of Getz, Ramirez, Q, Thome Konerko, Dye, AJ, Fields, BA would score about 5.782. runs per game. While one of Getz, Ramirez, Q, Dye, Thome Konerko, AJ, Field and BA would score about 5.784 per runs game. So while the difference is negligible, you are absolutely correct. Great lineup, Kalapse.
  11. Bad turn of events for Cuba. CF makes a great play to get to the ball, drops it when he does.
  12. This fog is great. The japanease pitcher looks like a ghost.

    LOST!!!!

I hope Steve is still alive...
  14. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 01:52 AM) Well I've seen enough of Brian Anderson to be able to say with conviction that I believe, with a full season of at-bats, that Anderson cannot do any better than 15 home runs, 60 rbi's, and a .235 average. At best. There's better centerfielders out there, and it's time to forget about Anderson. Anderson's nothing more than an outfield version of Cesar Izturis. BA's upside far outweighs that of Izturis's. Also, Izturis averages 2 homers 41 Rbis and .260 per 162 games and 568 at bats. BA averages 11 homers 37 Rbis and 222. in 360 at bats. In other words, you're wrong.
  15. Why does Crane Kenney insist on speaking?
  16. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 05:10 PM) Ick, Brent Lillibridge needs to go away. Poor kid just wasted away his best chance of starting in the big leagues.
  17. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 04:39 PM) What happened with Wise? I missed it. K'd on a pitch in the dirt.
  18. When Floyd's fastball is working inside and his curveball snaps at the knees, he's unhittable.
  19. Josh Fields is a heck of a lot more alert out their then he was two years ago.
