  2. Getz might be too disiplined for this team.
  3. QUOTE (Jimmywins1 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 03:47 PM) Interesting to see Lilly in CF, I seem to remember Ozzie saying that he wouldn't put him there. He was probably talking about Kroeger
  4. I'm hoping Cuba can forge a better effort against Japan this time/. I like their contrasting styles and want to see some competition
  5. QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) Yes There goes my social life for the next three hours.
  6. The Cuban team has a massive security detail and is being monitored 24/7. It would be very difficult for their superstar to sneek out unnoticed without a facilitator.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 02:27 PM) If by problem you mean Josh Fields blocking him, then yes. That and his propensity to chase sliders out of the zone
  8. I thought Vicideo, Flowers, JVB and Allen would make it to the next round, but these are all logical moves.
  9. I enjoy how quickly a suggestion about Edmonds became yet another Anderson/Young debate.
  10. I think Flowers and JVB will last till about two weeks before camp breaks. I expect Egbert, Viciedo, Beckham, and the 2b gang to be their too.
  11. I believe there's another rounds of cuts coming up by the end of this week, should be interesting to see who goes.
  12. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 01:28 PM) Once a ball player has been in the league for a few years I think the feeling they had of being a fan of a certain team completely leaves them. Atleast for the majority of them. i've heard stories that Rowand usuallly wears a Sox's or a Bears T-shirt under his uniform and that Gload watches Sox games in his hotel room on road trips. Bit of a conflict of interest if true.
  13. Are their any current or former Sox players who were fans of the team growing up? I'm pretty sure Gload and Rowand were/are pretty big Sox guys regardless of where they're playing now.
  14. Ozzie's friends with everyone, isn't he? I like Big Z alot, probably my favorite Cub outside of Mike Fontenot.
  15. I'd start by offering Orton, a 2nd round pick, and Chris Williams. That's a heck of a lowball though, and the offer would only increase from their. Were this the case though the choice would be to ether sign Pace or just hope like hell Oher is still available in the draft.
  16. Cuba and Mexico just started on ESPN 2.
  17. It's weird that two or three years ago a team with Cutler, Pace, Harrison and Holt would probably be one of the class of the NFL. Now, via discord or age they're all looking for a different place.
  18. His stats are here: http://minors.baseball-reference.com/players.cgi?pid=11785
  19. Ozzie's Venezuela VS Cora's Puerto Rico. The Sox clubhouse must be crazy.
  20. Nah, first time for us. It wasn't anything huge, just my laptop, and i-pod really.
  21. They were saying Edmonds was done two years ago! Hell, they've been saying Dye, Thome and Konerko were done for years. I'll believe it when i see it.
  22. We just had an unplanned fire drill in the dorm. Judging by the looks I got outside apparently, people think it’s weird for a person to quickly gather his valuable possessions, put them in a backpack, and book it out of the building,.
  23. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 06:52 PM) If we had Edmonds, then I would hope Edmonds would be an everyday Centerfielder, and that Wise can be subbed in at LF/CF/RF whenever he's needed. Not that hard of a concept because Anderson shouldn't be anywhere near the everyday line-up, he should be in AAA. Without Edmonds, then I'd rather have Wise as the everyday CF'er with Anderson only being used as a late-inning defensive replacement. After 2006, the Sox should never give Anderson another shot again. Dewayne Wise has failed countless times in his career. Using the Wise scale of sucess BA had many shots left to go.
