  1. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 03:17 PM) lol, are you serious? if you're referring to my signature, note I wasn't the one who said it. I quoted it, due to it's comedic effect. Sorry, the absence of green or teal confused me. I’m glad we’re in the same boat.
  2. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) I dont' want Jerry Owens leading off for us in 2009, my god. The kid has no confidence to swing the bat. I thought you agreed with the sentiment that if we didn't like Owens we could, "find another damn team to root for"?
  3. Nix has a good oppurtunity here after Lillibridge tripped over himself yesterday. Also, Restovich needs to hit out of the gate if he wants to get past Kroeger and survive the 1st rounds of cuts. And Viciedo needs to hit another homer, this time a televised one.
  4. I agree that Cutler has too big of a mouth on him, but wouldn't you be pissed if you were on the block after putting up the numbers he did last year for a QB with gigantic question marks surrounding him?
  5. One of the most kindhearted men i've ever had the pleasure to listen to. RIP.
  6. Wow, Jay Cutler is really pissed over this entire scenario, and rightfully so. Mcdaniels either badly overplayed his hands, or needs to do a better job of shooting down this story.
  7. Yeah, Magnum always crops up for a performance or two. Long enough to get your hopes up then shoot the down.
  8. I plan on being here till Milkman kills me. Sooo... two weeks?
  9. I'll agree with Scenario here. Dotel is a fairly solid reliever and is probably the third or fourth best option in our pen. Despite his tendency to hang pitches, he still has tremendous ability as a strikeout pitcher
  10. Is it time for the annual will Logan White, Kim Nga, or Paul Depodesta get a job talk?
  11. Octavio Dotel always had a live arm. When he came up all of his pitches moved like crazy, especially his slider. When his injury problems began to crop up he lost a lot of that movement, causing him to hang (what seems to be about) 25% of his pitches if not more.
  12. John Shelby really is the odd-man out in all of this, isn't he? Poor guy, he has great tools and hopefully, he can make something of himself to get the utilty job two years down the line.
  13. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 07:34 PM) Is it just me or does Wasserman (and the an extent Russell) seem to be the career minor leaguer-type that is called up to the major league squad in favor of keeping promising prospective pitchers in the minors for more development? He just screams cannon fodder to me. Wasserman, maybe, but Russell was once a decent prospect for this organization. The problem with Russell is that he has one plus pitch, his fastball. IF he can refine his change, and get some decent break on a curve or slider, he has a good chance of sucess in the majors. He already has a great frame, and live arm... in short, Coop can fix 'em.
  14. Good move for the Royals. Wow, haven't said that in a long time.
  15. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 04:59 PM) Oops forgot Broussard HR to start the inning 9-0 Sox Yay, for the muscian! He has a lot to make up for in AAA after the show Eldred put on over their.
  16. I was really hoping that Kroeger would make something of that AB. Pimp and Beckham on deck.
  17. Micah Hoffpauir is destroying the ball in spring training
  18. Does anyone remember about two years ago when Danks and Floyd were going at it for the 5th starter battle, and their was a splitscreen picture of them captioned with "someone will win" or something? I'd love to see one of those with Stewart and Miller.
  19. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 03:47 PM) kickass, you rock I do, don't i? Good, quick, start to JVB's White Sox Career
  20. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?g...chamlb_arimlb_1 Gameday Link, which took me an hour to find for some reason.
  21. I hope Gonzalez gives us some updates on JVB's Stuff. Last time, i saw him with the Pirates his fastball was really suffering.
  22. QUOTE (ChesterCopperpot @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 03:38 PM) I love it when Owens strikes out. You have a lot of love in your life, don't you?
  23. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 03:34 PM) Fields will be the teams 3B, this whole "Competition at 3B" is a facade to the fans, they're pretty much lying to us and Dayan I don't think we've been misled at all. No one but the beat writers have ever said anything about this kid starting for the big club this year.
  24. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 03:28 PM) I think the D will be solid from any of those guys. Nix in particular is supposed to be out of this world on defense.
