  1. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 11:26 AM) ugh....... yeah, this is just a waste of everyone's time. Garcia is done as a pitcher, I'd be shocked if he stays healthy for spring training. Did you even see game 162 of last year where Garcia pretty much matched Floyd pitch for pitch?
  2. Pablo "The Secret Weapon" Ozuna to the Phillies David Eckstein to the Padres
  3. This pilot just sing handedly rewrote the textbook on water landings.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 15, 2009 -> 01:42 PM) If Franco wasn't in it, I may have felt differently. Agreed, although Danny Mcbride (the unkillable drug dealer) has some great comedic timing.
  5. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jan 15, 2009 -> 01:37 PM) Didn't Toronto have the best rotation in baesball ERA wise last year? Did they lose anyone to injury? In order of importance: Dustin Mcgowan, Casey Jannsen, and Gustavo Chacin.
  6. The addition of Fat Freddy and Bartolo wouldn’t necessarily spell the end of CR/AP and Marquez. It would however bring the Adam Russell/D.J. Carrasco era to a close. I could see: Buehrle Floyd Danks Garcia Colon Richard Marquez Poreda Thorton Linebrink Dotel Jenks
  7. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jan 15, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) honestly, if a player cannot hold onto the ball Im not blaming the WR coach. If the player is lost and is running the wrong routes and is generally unprepared, then I can see blaming Drake. Earl Bennet?
  8. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 13, 2009 -> 10:38 PM) Fox cancels everything without so much as a TV movie to wrap it up. Firefly, Futurama, Family Guy, Wonderfalls, that class reunion murder show... I’m going to kick someone in the nuts if Dollhouse doesn’t run at least 13 episodes.
  9. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jan 15, 2009 -> 12:37 PM) Winning a world series. Who cares about division titles? Nothing is guaranteed in the playoffs. One of the main objectives of moneyball is to compete for the division in a cost effective manner and get into the playoffs. Everything else is mostly luck.
  10. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jan 15, 2009 -> 12:30 PM) Anyone who makes 'projected' standings this early in january is a nimrod. Agreed, at least wait until projected lineups are somewhat a given. We're talking like two weeks into spring training.
  11. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jan 15, 2009 -> 12:31 PM) Let's just say there's no magic formula either way, obviously. Moneyball hasn't exactly worked out for the A's either. It did get them to the playoffs for about five years straight. What's your definition of worked?
  12. I’m not so hot on simply giving him the job from the get go. I think it’s unfair to CR/AP, Marquez and the rest of the young guys. It also takes away an additional motivational factor the team could use to get Bartolo’s head in the game.
  13. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Jan 15, 2009 -> 10:47 AM) While last year ultimately ended better than I thought it would, please don't ever make me have to watch another big-bopper dependent lineup with no speed and prone to streakiness. That was uber-painful. I suppose you have the "speed never slumps" bumper-sticker?
  14. Mariotti's going to be on Waddle & Silvy at the 30 to talk about his Aol job.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 14, 2009 -> 10:46 PM) Would this site allow a one time waiver for us to root for a particular injury to a particular player? Would it really be that bad to root for the return of last year’s MVP Jerry Owens’ Groin?
  16. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jan 14, 2009 -> 10:29 PM) Tubby Hall sinor a minor league deal with the Astros today. How fitting is it that he signs this deal in the offseason after the Rays went to World Series. When you look at expectations, playing time, salary at his position, the personal decision he made with his shoulder, and of course his performance, he's one of the worst free agent signings in White Sox history. Good riddance. I really don't think Toby Hall (as bad as he was) was one of the worst things to happen to the franchise.
  17. Toby Hall to the Astros Scotty Pods, Matt Belisle, Dan Ortmeir to Rockies

    LOST!!!!

You're not alone Brian. I've got my mental calender marked off too. God, i love this show.
  19. I’ve never been a hockey fan, but it’s an absolute pleasure to watch these young Blackhawks play.
  20. I'm in the would of preferred Fat Freddie camp, but if Ozzie and Coop can install a decent work ethic for Bartolo then I have no problem with him competing for a spot with Richard and Poreda
  21. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 14, 2009 -> 01:35 PM) PE 1059: Track and Field - Probably going to be the biggest pain of the semester, but at least I'll get in shape SMGT 3501: Sport in a Diverse Society BIE 3061: Professional Sales Management - Going to suck as it's on the St. Paul campus ENGW 1101W: Intro to Creative Writing - Finishing up my writing requirements, it'll suck but I'm taking it pass/fail, so that's a plus. SMGT 3861: Legal Aspects of Sport SMGT 3111: Sport Facility and Management Great crop of classes right their.
  22. How new are we talking? Because Maggianos is almost always the way to go.
  23. What lineup are they running anyway? We have a lot of question marks.
  24. QUOTE (Sec101Row1 @ Jan 12, 2009 -> 07:51 PM) WS Game 2 was the best game I've ever seen. I'll drink to that. I'm so lucky to have been their too.
