  1. White Sox baseball is fun again. This is starting to look like a team that just needs another bat to stay around for a while.
  2. Let's take this series. This division is rapidly becoming within our grasp.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 09:49 AM) The positive spin to this is that the Sox started this little streak off by taking 2 of 3 from the Tigers Not to mention we had the first Tigers game well in hand before our pen blew it. I'm starting to get excited for this team again. The effort is there, even if all the pieces needed to win aren't.
  4. So, the Marlins organization gave out Vuvuzuelas to their fans prior to last nights game against the Rays. Needless, to say it did not sit well with the players: “That was the worst handout or giveaway I’ve ever been a part of in baseball,” said Dan Uggla, who wore earplugs. “This isn’t soccer. I know the World Cup is going on but this is baseball.” http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/files/...lins_vuvuzelas/
  5. This is starting to look like the team that just needs one more offensive piece to get back in the race again. I'm amazed that we're back in this position, but the NL will do that to you.
  6. Got back from a concert and was greeted by a Sox win. Good deal.
  7. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 02:52 PM) You have added virtually nothing to my experiences as a White Sox fan other than the ability to mock Thunderbolt. Have a good life. . Today is the start of many sleepless nights for me.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 10:07 AM) who declared Ozzie a genius? Sorry, that Sin City inevitable World champions post threw me a bit off kilter.
  9. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 04:15 AM) sox traded whisler to marlins but no other information trade yet. http://www.chicitysports.com/2010/06/18/so...or-achey-peavy/ I hope it's for Renyel Pinto.
  10. It's amazing how Ozzie becomes a genius the minute we start beating teams, we should be beating.
  11. At least Nix is taking it in stride: "Anytime you got the numbers I got and playing the way I am, (being designated for assignment) is possible,'' said Nix, who joined the Sox before the 2009 season. The Sox have 10 days to trade or release Nix, who could be placed on waivers during the 10-day period. "I enjoyed my time here," Nix said. "I enjoyed playing for Ozzie, and being here has been a good thing for me. If I do clear (waivers), I think that (going to Triple-A Charlotte) would be my first choice, but we'll see." http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...do-dfa-nix.html
  12. I really don’t trust Ozzie to give Dayan the proper playing time he needs to develop. I imagine he’s going to be sitting quite a bit in favor of Omar and Kotsay.
  13. Ozzie is already showing confidence in him too! "Omar (Vizquel) is playing good now," Guillen said. "We're going to give Viciedo some at-bats because that's what he comes here for. I'm going to pick the spot to see who's pitching and the matchup. And I'll wait to see. He's not playing (Friday). I don't want to have him remember the first game of his career against that kid (Stephen Strasburg). After that, we'll decide.“ http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...do-dfa-nix.html Who else can't wait to see Omar Vizquel blindly flail away at Strasburg's offering?
  14. Apart from four walks Marquez put up a good line. Nick Swisher Who?
  15. The Tigers, Nationals and Indians swept the Pirates right before we did. If we're going to throw a parade, we better get in line.
  16. Wow, can you imagine being a Pirates fan? IF you had told a prospect lover a couple years ago that they’d have this collection of former prospects, people would have told you things were looking up, but none of these kids barring the superstar CF show any signs of life.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 12:31 AM) Oh man, I was thinking you were going to go ballistic... Nah, I became pretty resigned to Nix’s fate as the middle infield version of Brian Anderson in the days following his slam off James Shields (also known as the pinnacle of his major league career), I like Nix, but If he has a future: it’s in the NL. I will say that if Viciedo is going to sharing at-bats with Vizquel or Kotsay, I will be very frustrated.
  18. You had a good run, Nix. Hope there's a place for you somewhere. Can't wait to see Dayan get everyday playing time!
  19. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 06:21 PM) Any source or did you see him personally ? He actually has an APP on his IPHONE called the Hudson Tracker. Works wonders at parties.

  21. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) I don't think he gets officially added to the 25 man roster unless Peavy is unable to go on Saturday. If Peavy gets the all clear then Hudson heads back to Charlotte like nothing ever happened. A lot of teams will carry 26th and 27th players as insurance and just leave them in the team hotel until they get word on the player they’re examining. I imagine this is a similar case.
  22. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 01:19 PM) I think he's more pissed off this thread was started. I would much rather have the younger Nix and like another poster said.. that ain't saying much at all. Nah, I’m kinda blasé about Nix at this point. Snipe away. If we’re can agree to decent financial terms I actually like what Aki could bring to the team.
