  1. I hope we're calling up Hudson with the intention of pitching him out of the rotation. It would make sense if he's just Peavy insurance.
  2. Renyel Pinto was just DFA'd by the Marlins. You know what to do, Kenny.
  3. It's nice to be winning games we should be winning.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 08:04 AM) What? I don't know. He's really pushing this nickname and it doesn't make a lot of sense to most of us.
  5. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 08:58 PM) Both Danks and Viciedo with a HR for the Knights. Dayan is beasting, right now.
  6. I liked what we saw from Beckham today. He got two bizzare hits and then he flew out after making great contact. it was a nice bit of evolution and hopefully an indicator of future results. Of course, the Twins and Tigers had to win too.
  7. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 06:35 PM) Well, if it makes you feel any better, 2B Rahmatulla broke his wrist celebrating the victory. I remember hearing one of the UCLA players say very audibly, “GET THE f*** OFF ME,” when people were trying to leave the pile. I thought it was Rasmussen, but it was probably this guy. Ouch.
  8. Tabata, LF Walker, N, 2B McCutchen, A, CF Jones, G, 1B Doumit, C Church, RF LaRoche, An 3b Cedeno, SS Lincoln, P
  9. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 06:31 PM) You can dislike the guy, but it gets tiring to hear the same unproven stuff over and over again. I don't care about his philosophy, i care about the results. The facts are that we haven't hit worth a damn since 2006, someone should take the fall for that.
  10. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 05:46 PM) My guess: AJ's a little sore after being hit twice vs the Cubs and Ozzie's giving him an extra day to recoup. My guess is that it's just Ozzie throwing stuff against the wall again.
  11. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) Well, if AJ were traded today or tomorrow it'd make Ozzie look awfully bad considering his comments today. From Cowley via twitter: It could also send the message that nobody wanted him.
  12. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 03:34 PM) Pierre LF Vizquel 3B Rios CF Konerko 1B Kotsay RF Ramirez SS Castro C Beckham 2B Garcia P Well, that's an NL lineup, if i've ever seen one.
  13. Conor Jackson was traded to the A's. He's an ideal #2 hitter for that lineup, but this really doesn't fill the massive gap in power that the team has.
  14. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 01:40 PM) Do you think Paulie is gone at the end of the year (if not sooner) ? What happens to our 1B situation? Viciedo an option? If we haven't pushed the gap with the Twins to 5 by the time of the deadline, I think Konerko gets moved, when that happens Viciedo will be the 1b of the future.
  15. Peavy is also leading our team in K's.
  16. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) When can we expect Dayan Viciedo in the majors? September. Sooner still, if we have a firesale.
  17. AJ getting an extension is one of the things that i've come to terms with. It's like the rotating DH, just because they shouldn't do it, doesn't mean they won't. The organization will pretend that Flowers needs more seasoning and that AJ would be more then willing to mentor, but the minute AJ speaks up, Flowers is as good as gone.
  18. This isn't even a question. Get a copy of SIRIUS by The Alan Parsons project, dim the lights , and then have the MC announce the entire wedding party like he's Tommy Edwards introducing the Bulls. Like so, "AND NOWWWW The Groom from Chicago, ILLINOIS... INSERT NAME HERE."
  19. The increasingly irrelevant Jordan Danks with a masterful 0-3 with 3 K's, Dayan adds a double and both he and Flowers put up nice numbers against a guy who has frequented the majors. (albeit, for the NATS.)
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:12 PM) Second best? I think not. He's been our best player and it's not even close. I should have put offensive player. Factoring in the defense, you're absolutely right.
  21. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:40 PM) hummmmmm Yikes.
  22. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:31 PM) I'm with stupid... AWESOME. I could get behind this banner.
  23. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:24 PM) The Peavy and Rios acquisitions chewed up too many resources to allow this team a chance at being a serious contender. That is squarely on Kenny. Rios has been our second best player this season. He's been worth that contract. Jim Thome is making the same amount of money that Mark Kotsay is. The money was there.
  24. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:18 PM) Could not disagree more. The influence of Guillen on the makeup of this roster is greatly exaggerated. Ozzie is the man behind the most pivotal baseball choices this team made in the offseason. Those being: to bring in Juan Pierre to have an “ideal” leadoff hitter and to forgo Jim Thome in favor of a rotating DH based loosely around mediocre, aging veterans. To say he had nothing to do with the making of this roster is false.
  25. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:16 PM) There is no evidence that KW isn't at least as responsible for the product on the field as Guillen is. The truth is KW boxed himself in financially where there were no great options to fill the holes on this team in the offseason. Throwing $15M at Teahen to play 3B is by far worse than any personnel decision Guillen may have had a hand in. It’s not about who is responsible. It’s about who is accountable. By all reason, it should be both of them, but from what we’re hearing Kenny is the one who is going to take the fall for this.
