  1. Patrick Kane is at the game. Shaved his "beard" too.
  2. It troubles me that Walker thinks Beckham's problems are mental. Last year, he struck me as a guy who didn't let struggles get him down. In fact, he used to rib Q about that.
  3. QUOTE (aprec32 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) Hawk simply goes silent after every Beckham at bat. I used to get so excited every time he came to the plate. That kid could make things happen.
  4. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 04:37 PM) Not to get too far off track in the thread, but is Matt Kemp really that bad defensively? He has the worst fielding rating.....CQ is 2nd worst. Yes. Kemp moves like a gazelle that’s been blinded and stripped of its motor skills.
  5. Chad Tracy almost juggled himself out of that play.
  6. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 04:15 PM) I would love Rick Hahn and Joey Cora. Promote from within two very good baseball minds. Joey Cora and Ozzie have the same baseball sensibilities. That’s a lateral move.
  7. This could be one of AJ's last days as a White Sox. This is a great note to being going out on.
  8. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 04:01 PM) That first pitch was right down the middle, he took it. Good. It's a non-issue. So, is not swinging 0n 3-0. We want to increase our chances of getting on-base, not decrease them.
  9. Alexei with a blopper on an ill-advised 1-0 swing.
  10. Matt Purke is throwing absolute filth on ESPN 2, at the moment.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 11:09 AM) 33 runs is really not that much, and I'm kinda wondering about that number because it was listed as a lot closer than yesterday. The Twins picked up like 25 runs last night. Either way, this offense would actually be above average if Quentin, Beckham, and Pierzysnki hit like we expected. The Twins offense is actually underperforming, compared to last year. Their pitching has been the difference. I just don’t think this team was properly built to succeed. Obviously, the pitching staff was a major bust, but coming into the season we knew that we hadn’t put them in the best position to thrive in. I see it like this: our pitching staff was fantastic last year but was burdened by a mediocre offense. Our pitching staff was projected to be fantastic this year, and was surrounded by an offense that was projected to be (at best) equal to last year’s offense. Just because we’re pretty bad on both sides of the ball does not mean we should ignore the insane leaps of logic our management took in shaping this roster coming off last season. Now, just because our pitching staff is terrible now, does not mean it will continue to be in the distant future, because of this KW has to walk a very fine line here between unloading and reloading. This team should be competitive, but on paper never stood out as being the class of the division. Yet given the state of this division, it never really has to be.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 10:49 AM) Our offense is right there with the Tigers's offense as it is and only a little bit behind the Twins. Our offense is 33 points behind the Twins. Every projection system that had us on par with the Twins required our below-average offense to be mitigated by ace-level pitching. Even factoring that in the Sox would still be only just equivalent to, or just behind the Twins. Coming into the season we set ourselves up for failure, oddly we failed in a different way than anyone expected.
  13. I could go to war with this lineup. Albeit, it would be a war where i grossly outnumber a group of guys who have no limbs and are noted pacifists.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 09:48 PM) That trailer looks pretty badass, the other MK's were just too incredibly cheesy to be enjoyable. For those of you who like really insane lines of useless trivia: this was directed by the guy who did the FAME remake, Kevin Tancharoen who is the brother of Maurissa Tancharoen, who is Joss Whedon's brother's wife. I have no idea where Kevin Bacon is involved.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 09:04 AM) Sorry to be rude on that, I'm hoping more than just you get the message. Balta... i get what you're saying... but the x-factor is arbitration here. Could we stand to get draft picks from all of this?
  16. Where there's smoke there's all sorts of fire. The Guillen Family appears to be having a fallout with Kenny Williams, i'm not sure yet if they've had any sort of drama with Jerry Reinsdorf. That is why this thing is yet to come to a head. And that is why the recent Jerry interview where he brought up Oney was very interesting.
  17. If he's moved, it's for the good of the team. Not some attack on A.J's legacy.
