6/10 GT: White Sox vs. Tigers - 1:05pm CDT CSN
ThunderBolt replied to knightni's topic in 2010 Season in Review
Did anyone else see this from Cowley? "Peavy just said that if he felt the Sox were going to go young and rebuild all over, he would asked to be moved." I love Peavy, but he needs to stop talking about this. http://twitter.com/cst_sox/status/15858542576 -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 02:25 AM) If AJ gets traded, I fully expect Castro merely to become the starter, don't you? You don't trade a veteran in a down year, to start another verteran in a down year, Flowers will start and Castro will either follow A.J. out or continue catching once a week.
-
As the Tyler Flowers era seems to be looming closer, it's good to see him proving he'll actually deserve the promotion.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 11:28 PM) Jeremy Roenick is crying. I actually was a Hawks fan and knew all about hockey in 1992 and followed that team closely Roenick gave me chills. That was such an honest display of emotion. -
Wow we be the living hell out of them. That's fun, but i hope it doesn't change anyones mind about his team.

Incredible, just incredible. What a feeling! World CHAMPS! -
At what point does it become time to move on from a 33-year old catcher who is showing signs of decline, can't hold or throw out a baserunner, has an expiring contract, and has a terribe approach at the plate? How about when your team is terrible, has a promising catcher waiting in the wings, and when it looks like you can actually get something for him. Eventually, we're all going to have to move on from the 2005 Good Feelings tour. Now, is as good a time as ever.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) I would be VERY surprised if he makes it past sunday night. That's what i like to hear.
-
And so with the selection of, David Vasquez a High School SS. the White Sox 2010 Draft is OVAH!
-
I'd be interested in hearing if this is a gut thing too, Rock. Most of the time if you say it, there's usually some truth behind it. Coupled by rumor, logic and gut feeling, i'd say A.J. is a goner.
-
Congrats go to UCONN LHP Elliott Glynn for going in the 49th round to the Padres. Better late then never.
-
IF we can sign Grimes to sign, this is a pretty good draft. If we can get Grimes and Griset to sign, they'll be even more to like from this draft.
-
Levi Schlick another HS LHP.
-
QUOTE (OilCan @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 01:48 PM) So, whoever was crying "why don't the Sox draft LHPs"...........HAVE ANOTHER SHINER BOCK! It's been a nice run of LHP's after the 26th-round,
-
Any chance that we can pay for a hitting coach to win this thing, so he can go and talk to him?
-
White Sox take HS SS Bradley Salgado.
-
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 01:40 PM) Anyone got anything on Chris Lee? I only found his bios, but no scouting report. His name is so common that google is giving me fits here.
-
This Griset kid might have the most upside out of anyone we've taken outside of Sale. I really like this kid's arm. If we can sign him, this is a major coup.
-
Christopher Lee another HS LHP from Florida
-
Rios doesn't want to be traded. Which is good, becasue i don't want us to trade him. http://www.realgmbaseball.com/src_wiretap_...t_to_be_traded/

I'm really liking this Griset kid. He's 6-2-195 and check out these this, " Each time Griset would toe the rubber, scouts would wield their radar guns, fixing their aim on the explosive power pitcher. He never disappointed. Griset was named the Western Athletic Conference MVP after posting a 6-3 record with six complete games, a 0.68 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 62 innings. He possesses a plus-fastball that tops out at about 92 mph, a sharp breaking ball and, with the help of CenCal director and pitching coach Mike McNeil, is developing a changeup. More important to his draft stock, Griset added 15 pounds to his lower trunk, which will help give his fastball more speed and movement as he moves forward." HS LHP from Cali for the Sox. Ben Griset. He seems like a really interesting guy. He's a commit to St. Mary's but said he'd sign for the right price. Named the top high school prospect in Merced County. He put up, "a 3-1 record with a 1.08 ERA. He's struck out 52 hitters and surrendered only 12 hits in 26 innings." Has a 90 MPH fastball Read more: http://www.mercedsunstar.com/2010/04/15/13...l#ixzz0qNTDElGR
