  1. Joyce and Galarraga were both pure class. They've handled this incredibly well.
  2. Sio, i have the Rangers broadcast tonight, and i really don't mind. Hawk has been getting on my nerves as of late.
  3. September? That'd be incredible. I'm sure the organization doesn't want him to push himself too hard, but that'd be incredible for him to get some at-bats at the minor league complex and get ready for the AFL.
  4. Nix time! At 2nd too! Think he'll put on a clinic out there.
  5. Can we making this a venting thread? One where we can just rattle off our complaints and frustrations? I think we could use a place where we can just sound off and get these kinds things off our chests without having to sound reasonable. I'll go first: and yes, some of these our petty and trivial: I hate turning on the TV and knowing that Mark Kotsay and Omar Vizquel are going to be in the lineup and hitting high in the order. I hate knowing that even if the game is close Ozzie is still going to let Randy Williams and Bobby Jenks get their play. I hate having to see guys like Jayson Nix rot away on the bench when this team sucks balls, and we have no better options, I hate that we reward a kid like Lucy with a demotion to the minors, I hate that we have to bunt nearly every time someone gets on base, I hate that our manager doesn’t operate through strategy, but instead by gut, I hate how this organization runs the draft, i hate that all of our prospects either suck or are injured, I hate how we treat the players that Ozzie doesn't like, i hate how Hawk gets while we're losing, i hate how a lot of us saw tihs coming early in spring, i hate those bulls*** White Sox tradition ads, and I hate that there's no sign of anything changing in the near future. But i love the Chicago White Sox, so where does that put me?
  6. I'm still going to watch every game i can, but i can't say i'm getting anything out of it. I think my biggest problem is that things don't seem like they're going to get any better in the near future, the people in charge will remain in charge. There's no accountability for the failings of players, coaches, and upper management in this organization. I've said it before and i'll say it again: what we are seeing is the price of loyalty.
  7. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 09:52 AM) Dewayne Wise is a free agent, he opted out of his contract withe Phillies. Anyone want to take bets as to how many days it is before Wise is starting in Charlotte?
  8. The Twins are attempting to fill one of their biggest holes by calling up top prospect Danny Valencia to play 3b.
  9. After A.J gets traded i wouldn't mind giving Lucy the job for a month or two until Flowers gets back on track. We won't be in contention, so why not reward the guy for his years of service?
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 08:57 AM) Was I the only one who saw Santos get bloodied up on Tuesday? He gave up a run-scoring hit and a walk. He got hit for what was really the second time in his big league career. It happens.
  11. For the record, i agree with Ozzie that Thornton's fine in his current role. There's just no logical excuse for having Jenks close out games when we have superior options in Putz and Santos on the roster.
  12. QUOTE (pktmotion @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 11:56 PM) Lee is about to be traded to the Angels. no word yet what the Cubs are getting. This isn't pending, it's speculation.
  13. Ozzie doesn't care how good Thornton is throwing, Jenks is his closer. "I talked to Bobby Jenks today, yes," Guillen said. "Hopefully, that's the last time Bobby goes through [injury troubles], but in the meanwhile, I can not worry about putting him in a save situation tonight." "Bobby's our closer," Guillen added. Guillen's statement put to rest any speculation about whether Jenks would continue to be called upon to close out games for the South Siders. Matt Thornton will regain his position as a left-handed setup guy, tasked with pitching the eighth inning or earlier, if a tough left handed batter happens to come up. "I don't care how well Thornton is throwing the ball. The reason we used him [on May 28] was because Bobby was down. You look at Texas' team, they only have two lefties. I have to go with Bobby. If they go with lefties, I might take a chance with Thornton. Right now, the way we play, we have to do everything to win the game Stubborn and stupid. That's our manager. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...rtnerId=rss_mlb
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 01:19 AM) I'd orgasm all over my keyboard. I would also orgasm all over Jordan's keyboard. What? I have a laptop. I've not cleaning that s*** up.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 11:24 PM) Yeah I'm sure we'll win any trade we make with them for Paulie. Sure we will. But hey we'll get rid of his contract like that matters one f***ing bit. It matters a hell of a lot. We need the money.
  16. So, what was A.J's plan in the last ab? Because it certainly wasn't to work a guy who wasn't throwing strikes in piss poor conditions.
  17. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 10:07 PM) First off, lmao at the Tigers.. that was awesome and im glad he was called safe.. Secondly, they need to just allow steroids in baseball because this s*** is boring.. ive seen enough 1-0 games the past month or so.. baseball is going to fade again due to this s*** Yes, because if the game needs anything it's more people cheating it.
  18. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 10:05 PM) Hawk really has no f***ing clue how to evaluate a player's defense. Everyone's f***ing amazing in his eyes. I hate how Stoney just takes it at face value. Never questions a damn thing.
  19. Have we been watching the same Carlos play the field, Hawk?
  20. I think the romantic arc in the reality show is going to be a love square between Ozzie, Ibis, Kotsay and Randy.
