  1. This team would be better off giving Nix some play and letting Vizquel return to the role of pitch-runner and defensive replacement. Naturally, that's not going to happen.
  2. QUOTE (dmbjeff @ May 31, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) and the sox will draw strasburg june 19th since he will be up for his first start on june 8th. mark that one down as an L. We tend to hit fastball dominant pitchers. Don't write us off so soon.
  3. I look forward to seeing Omar Vizquel starting every day, instead of Nix.
  4. Good for Lillibridge if this is true. He's earned it.
  5. I didn't expect him to actually acknowledge that the interest was there. I just assumed this would be one of the those things that the organization would want kept under the radar. Even though most fans could deduce it anyway.

Del Toro just left The Hobbit movie. I guess the constant production delays and studo bickering wore him out. Hopefully, Jackson steps in and directs it himself, or gets someone like Alfonso Cuaron to take on the project.
  7. Anyone up for an awesome Jayson Nix-James Shields feud? You might just get it. "Shields was miffed when he saw Nix flip his bat in the sixth inning, and he threw the next pitch high and tight to Alexei Ramirez. "This guy is doing a bat-flip, kind of pimping the home run a little bit," said Shields, the cousin of former Sox outfielder Aaron Rowand. "That's just sometimes the way it happens. I guess when you hit a game-winning grand slam, I guess you can do that." http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...omparisons.html
  8. Ozzie actually adressed this pretty directly in some comments he made. He confirms what we all know that the, "The Angels have been looking for Konerko for a long time," Guillen said. "That's not my call. Hopefully Konerko is playing good, and then like I say, it makes (the front office) make a decision." http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,5191881.story
  9. Lillibridge homered again. What has gotten into him?
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 30, 2010 -> 08:59 PM) After today, only him and Gordo are below .200. Still there's a pretty big disparity in the amounts of at-bats that Nix gets compared to these guys. I'm not saying he's proven he's deserve those ab's, it just needs to be factored in.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 30, 2010 -> 07:59 PM) I don't think you're the only one to have backed him on this board though... I know. I've just been obnoxiously vocal in my support. I was looking like a jackass for a while, still probably do, but it was still great to see him come through for all of us.
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 30, 2010 -> 07:52 PM) We were all holding off so you could do it, TBolt! Today, Nix finally backed up my talk. We'll see if he can sustain this for any prolonged period of time.
  13. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 30, 2010 -> 05:15 PM) Lets not wave the white flag just as this team is starting to play well. We will win the division. We will win the ALCS. And we will win the WS. Boy I'm glad you're not the GM. What team have you been watching? Every time we win a game, i hear this, and then we lost the next one. We're the very definition of mediocre. We can't keep holding on to the past, and losing sight of the future. Eventually, we're going to have to let Paulie go.
  14. No one wants to mention Jayson Nix? Well, i'll do it. JAYSON f***ING NIX!!!!! Also, those back to back great defensive plays by Vizquel and Pierre were a joy to see.
  15. I love how others teams can just run at will on us.
  16. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 30, 2010 -> 03:38 PM) Nix can't play short or third.......now if you are saying if Beckham stays cold should he move to second and Beckham AAA to work on things...... He can play third. Seriously, i know that double error was a kick in the nuts, but i vouch for him. That's all that matter.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 30, 2010 -> 03:34 PM) Nix has never, ever been good against RHP. I said he works the count, not that he hits the pitches. And look what he did.
  18. Nix tends to work good at-bats. See the ball, hit the ball.
  19. In a game that Buehrle should have started, Peavy talks another big game and doesn’t show up again. This is absolute bulls***.
