  1. Quentin swings at crap. Good name for a band. Teahen takes a dive, to free Jayson Nix. He was just starting to hit too.
  2. i'd still take Wood in a package with a decent arm or two. He's making his best Josh Fields impression, but i'd still play him over Teahen and see what happens.
  3. Peavy doesn't have his velocity today, but his change has been his best pitch tonight and he's locating well. Keep it up.
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 30, 2010 -> 12:40 PM) Q finds his power stroke and Gordon does awesome. Gordon's not playing today, but i bet he'll make a killing in clubhouse poker.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 30, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) They're below .500 with Kendry. They're not going to get any better with a worse 1B in Konerko. And you're right. They look stuck between a rock and a hard place. If we lose Alex Rios, does Kenny bend over and let another GM fist-f*** him? I'd hope not. I don't think they're going to let themselves get... fistf***ed , they're better off for now seeing if they can bring in someone like Dye or Delgado to get a cheap, burst of production, but i can see them willing to make a deal if the White Sox aren't shooting for the stars. Paulie's an expiring contract, it's not like they're looking at a long-term move.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 30, 2010 -> 12:30 PM) Not many teams could lose a player the caliber of Kendry Morales and replace them in-house. That's not the point. It's just not nearly as simple as "Gee, we lost Kendry for three months, let's mortgage some of our future for a good, not great, 1B for 2-3 months until Kendry gets back." Of course it's a "possibility." Just not very likely. There's a significant difference between treading water without your best player and playing Robb Quinlan every-day at 1b. I think the Angels realize that their best option is to go out of house. Now, this could mean Paulie, A-Gone, Adam Dunn, whatever. They're not burdened with an over-abundance of choice in the matter.
  7. Peavy needs to back up his talk tonight. This is a game that Buehrle should be pitching.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 30, 2010 -> 12:18 PM) Again, you're dealing away a good prospect for a 3-month rental due to a freak accident. It's not a win-win for them at all. The Angels don't have any realistic in-house options. Trumbo has potential, but his k-rate is about as optimistic as Tyler Flowers. Who else do they have? Calling up Hank Conger and moving Napoli to 1b? Robb Quinlan? The Angels have a bunch of toolsy OF and middle IF prospect in-house, most of whom are two to three years away. What they just lost in Morales is what their organization is lacking in-terms of depth. They're between a rock and a hard place. Dealing for Konerko is not out of the question.
  9. Beckham starts putting good swings on the ball and he gets benched. This is what i was complaining: about our lineups have no consistency. We're abusing versatility. Just send the same lineup out for more then two days, Ozzie.
  10. The Angels are in a pretty dire spot here. The best in-house option is probably Mark Trumbo. However, he has a huge problem with his K-rate. Another option is to promote Hank Conger (a catcher) and play Napoli at first. Neither is ideal. Honestly, i'm starting to see how someone like Konerko would appeal to them.
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 30, 2010 -> 01:35 AM) If he is released, would you take a flyer on him? Under no circumstances. Let him go back to the N.L. and reunite with his true love: Hitting a baseball.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 29, 2010 -> 07:40 PM) I mean that's Buehrle wearing the Catcher's mask. Peavy's on the mound, Buehle's catching. That's the joke. I never noticed that, good call.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 29, 2010 -> 07:37 PM) Um, I thought that was Buehrle in that commercial with him? Nah, Peavy. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/video/play...88&c_id=cws
