This season would be so much easier to take if Mitchell wasn't hurt. Remember how we all used to watch Beckham tear it up, while things were falling apart here? That was an encouraging sign for the future, little did we know...

He is a very talented pitcher. He hasn't been too good this year.
He's a slow starter. I have faith.

So why praytell is Rios who is one of our only good hitters not playing tonight. Is this so Ozzie can get his toy Kotsay in the lineup.
The rotating DH demands that one of our only good hitters sits three times a week.
I want to keep Peavy, Floyd, Danks, Beckham, and Rios. Everyone else can go elsewhere. I'd prefer to keep Thornton too, but as i have doubts we'll be able to resign him we need to maximize value.

You use purge in every post you make...Lost fan, are you?
Lost has been on my mind lately, and i am a huge fan. I think purge is the right word for this though. It's not exactly a firesale, just an elimination of parts.
I'd like to see us play out the second-half with a young core of players. I think we need to purge the majority of the veterans on this team, and eliminate a lot of the 2005 mentality that's still present.

cubs probably have the best bench, hitting and pitching coach in baseball...and the worst GM
Rothschild is awful.
KW is made of balls. That's one of the best things about him. No one without a massive amount of balls could have made the Peavy and Rios transactions.
I'm growing a bit tired with the Hawk-Stoney dynamic. Frankly, i think it's a by-product of my frustration with the team. Because normally i love Steve Stone. Stoney keeps making these statments that he obviously thinks are really clever. Like "Matsui looked like his old self at the start of the year, now he's just old." It's like he's winking at the damn camera.
