  1. I predicted the Bears 53 man roster yesterday if anyone is interested: https://www.bagadonutssports.com/blog/2017/...cxtzjwwt476nnh5
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 07:50 AM) Dont they have Shaw on the roster as well? Yeah they do for now.
  3. I actually think Sanchez may get cut. he's not playing in preseason game #4 after playing 3 series total in the preseason. Seems like they don't want to risk an injury settlement. I bet they only carry 2 QB's.
  4. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 24, 2017 -> 12:56 AM) Because they got an absolute trash return for a top 15 f***in' player, even for what they wanna do. That is why Bulls fan would have wanted this kind of package, minus thomas. The pick alone is a better return than the trash that they got, and very obviously makes so much more f***in' sense for what you CLEARLY point out they wanna do, potentially land Porter/Bagley. All reports were that this type of package wasn't available for Jimmy Butler from Boston though. People can hate the Butler return all they want. My point was that this Kyrie Irving deal has nothing to do with the Butler trade even though people want to make that the case.
  5. QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 12:09 PM) Sure bro. Collins' robust .220 batting average is why everybody has him ranked higher than Seby. The fact that you are using batting average to make your argument tells me everything I need to know
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 12:34 PM) Ken Rosenthal moves to The Athletic. They have quite the stable of writers there, will be interesting to see if people are willing to pay to read their stories. Their subscription is like $4 a month and it's the best content in the city. I always recommend it to everyone. I usually just have my wife or someone buy that and BA for me for Xmas or birthdays.
  7. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 06:04 AM) I see Foster and Dedelow got demoted. It's likely so that they can play on Great Falls playoff team
  8. QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 24, 2017 -> 09:41 PM) SebZev with a hr, single, and walk. The dude is legit. I've got him above Collins no doubt. You are likely the only one
  9. David Haugh kind of glossed over the issue in his story. He said that he asked for and received his release while that isn't technically true. He asked for his release and then went AWOL. Hostetler was on the radio last week and said that Nick Capra and Buddy Bell gave Delmonico his last chance. He made it sound like other teams likely weren't going to give him a chance because he left the Brewers in the fashion that he did. Credit to Delmonico for working through his issues and credit to Bell and Capra for taking the chance on a guy with some upside.
  10. That's a solid deal for Leno. Get out in front of the contract year and lock him up for his prime. That's not much $$ and they put some of it in this season and saved in future years. That's basically Right Tackle $$. Good deal.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 10:54 AM) If I was a cavs fan the last thing I'd want them to do is use a top 5 pick on a nba-ready lower ceiling player just because it fit our window better. If that's the case, trade the pick for a player that is a more sure thing. If LeBRon leaves after season, they could likely trade Love and move IT in a S&T if they wanted to rebuild as well.
  12. I think this is actually solid for both teams. Cleveland did very well getting this much for Kyrie when they basically had to move him. IT and Crowder makes it so they are still the favorite in the East. They may lose LeBron and Thomas after the season but they'll have a high pick and assets to move toward a rebuild if they wanted. From Boston's end, they get 2 years of Kyrie and it's worth it if he re-signs (not sure if that's likely) in Boston. They set themselves up for the future and they absolutely didn't want to pay IT $200 million. As far as the Bulls are concerned, this has nothing to do with Butler. These deals aren't mutually exclusive even though people keep bringing them up in the same context. The Bulls likely wanted this year's pick for Butler. I would have insisted on a pick in this year's draft as well. The Celtics love Jayson Tatum and weren't willing to do that. Why would anyone want this package for Butler? The Bulls have no need for Isaiah Thomas. They are trying to lose as many games as possible. The plan involves possibly landing Michael Porter Jr or Marvin Bagley III. That's the silver lining in the Bulls deal.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Aug 22, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) Definitely think he can be a TOR guy, just not getting to the SouthSide as fast as Giolito, Kopech, Lopez, or Hansen...Cease, Dunning, Adams, Guerrero, Stephens, Clarkin may all very well be starters in The Show Dane Dunning doesn't project as a top of the rotation guy
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 04:02 PM) It's safe to say the league has figured him out. DFA him. There are still people that don't think Abreu is good. I understand that it's 1B and he's not a superstar but he's slashing .299/.348/.538. He's on pace for another 30 homer season with a wRC+ of 132 which is 2nd best in his career and a .371 wOBA.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 20, 2017 -> 01:48 PM) Hahn is lucky he didn't get fired after last season In Keith Law's most recent chat, he said that if Tatis ever actually played for the White Sox, they likely wouldn't have ever traded him. He never even played on the Sox DSL team.
  16. As of now, I'd predict it to look like this: 1. Leury Garcia CF 2. Yoan Moncada 2B 3. Jose Abreu 1B 4. Casey Gillaspie DH 5. Matt Davidson 3B 6. Nick Delmonico LF 7. Ryan Cordell RF 8. Kevan Smith C 9. Tim Anderson SS Rotation: 1. Carlos Rodon LHP 2. James Shields RHP 3. Lucas Giolito RHP 4. Reynaldo Lopez RHP 5. Veteran Free Agent Bullpen: Nate Jones RHP Zach Putnam RHP Free Agent Free Agent Aaron Bummer LHP 2 more spots
  17. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 15, 2017 -> 02:53 PM) To put Giolito ahead of Lopez is absolutely absurd to me. I still had Giolito ahead of Lopez
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 15, 2017 -> 07:55 PM) Personally I would put Hansen ahead of all but Kopech. I can't because of proximity to majors. Hansen and Giolito are the same age. Giolito is likely starting for the Sox on Monday. Hansen is at High A. Just more risk involved.
  19. I had Zavala on my midseason list but this is craziness. He went from underrated to overrated pretty quickly. He's 24 years old at High A and there's definite concern that he's not a major league catcher. He can hit but in no universe is he the caliber of prospect that Zack Collins is. These things aren't mutually exclusive. Every time Collins gets mentioned, Zavala doesn't need to be brought up. They will likely share time in Birmingham next year as well.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 14, 2017 -> 10:00 AM) If the PTBNL is sent after the season is over, do they still have to clear waivers? Maybe that is why they did a Named Later instead of just a deal? Just spit balling here. Tony Kemp would make sense because he technically needs to clear waivers or get claimed by Sox. If he's not technically "through waivers" yet it makes sense. The only way this matters in this sense is if Sox are acquiring someone on the 40 man. Astros can just trade any prospect not on the 40 man roster.
  21. Bears claimed former Bucs kicker Roberto Aguayo off waivers. Really nice move. He was awesome in college and is only 23. These are shots worth taking.
  22. Keeping guys down longer than necessary doesn't really make sense at this point. If Kopech does in AAA what he's doing in AA, he'll be in the majors at some point next season. I think there's a solid chance that Kopech and Eloy end the 2018 season with the Sox and they absolutely should if ready.
  23. Here's our FutureSox write-up on the Burr deal: http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2017/...onus-pool-room/
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 05:20 PM) Here's our detailed write-up, with videos and scouting information, links to interviews, etc. Everything you need to know (except the amount of pool room exchanged, which was not reported). As Matt mentions here, we never got any information on how much pool space was officially traded. They've traded some to Texas and Arizona. They have $4.75 million to spend. They signed 2 prospects for a total of $600K. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple more similar deals. Yrizarri and Burr aren't "elite" level prospects but I'm glad the Sox are using the resources they have to acquire potential talent.
  25. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 05:53 PM) Can anyone predict a starter for Saturday at Tex Rangers? Saturday 8/19 would be Derek Holland barring any changes. Lines up Holland/Gonzalez/Rodon/Lopez/Shields currently
