  1. Moncada could actually come up on May 15th and still be under control for 7 seasons. He'd probably qualify for Super 2 Status though.
  2. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 10:05 AM) I sticking with Adams or Lattimore. (Then a trade up into the latter part of the first round to grab one of the QBs.) The second part is wishful thinking. I think the QB part is very possible. I'll be pretty surprised if they take a DB that high though.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 09:50 AM) Don't post the whole list, selected excerpts is okay. You can put the whole list, you just have to type it out.
  4. I think the Bears end up with Solomon Thomas. He's my favorite player in the class but I think they'd love to move down.
  5. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Apr 26, 2017 -> 12:28 PM) Keith Law's TOP 50 list out todayl Most glaring player I noticed was the absence of Jordon Adell from his Top 50. According to scouts Law has talked to major hit questions and throwing very poorly right now. Is moving dramatically down everyone's list. The link is here: http://www.espn.com/blog/keith-law/insider/post?id=7027
  6. Pierre LeBrun is already an insider at TSN.
  7. Here's my 7 Round Bears Mock if anyone is interested: https://www.bagadonutssports.com/blog/2017/...ound-mock-draft
  8. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 26, 2017 -> 06:23 AM) what? He has an .462 obp and 1.084 OPS in his true freshman age season. That's after putting up .535/1.235 in what should have been his HS senior season. He's on pace to hit nearly as many HR as he did last year. His college BB:K rate is 104:49! I understand the argument to not take him #1 overall, but I'm not sure how people are "blindly" in love with him. If you mean we don't get to see him play often, yes that's true, but the same can be said for every amateur. I'm not sure how anyone wouldn't be in love with him, even if he's a 1b he has 30 HR total in NCAA in 346 AB, compared to 42 HR in 637 ABs for Zack Collins in the same conference This isn't true about Beer and it's a common misconception. He left HS early to enroll but he was still a 19 year old freshman. He's a 20 year old Sophomore right now.
  9. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 01:12 PM) If it's not a QB (which I don't think it is) it will be Lattimore or Adams. Impact DB at #3. Disagree. That's too high for Adams. I think it's Solomon Thomas or a QB.
  10. QUOTE (Donaldo @ Apr 23, 2017 -> 06:59 PM) Ouch. He did walk twice as well
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2017 -> 06:49 AM) .205/.265/.330 The White Sox team splits. A .595 team OPS. 32k there last night to try to get a cheap hoodie. But if this keeps up, the Hawk alarm clock, Buehrle day, the Cubs games, and Sale's return are all that is left for White Sox fan interest as far as attending goes. Trades making the team at least initially even worse will also keep many interested. This is going to be a really bad summer for baseball. Last night was the first time in my life when it wasn't pouring or freezing, I had tickets and really didn't want to go to the game. There really was no chance it was going to at least be entertaining. I predicted 8-1 to my wife. Pretty close. Today could be better, at least I want to go. I think people might go later in the year to see Moncada. I'd be more likely to attend if Reynaldo Lopez or Carlos Rodon were pitching. I go a lot anyway but there are others like me.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 09:44 PM) Was there much complaining going on in the stands? Any laughter at the bad team on the field this year? Any mention of the alleged "rebuild" from the fans? Tell us bout the crowd's demeanor please. The majority of people I talk to are fine with the rebuild. They aren't idiots though.
  13. Holy s*** this thread is overreaction city. Gonna be a long 4 years.
  14. QUOTE (credezcrew24 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 02:25 PM) The has got to be a rule prohibiting trading cash for a teams bonus pool. That would be a ridiculous if the White Sox could trade cash for a teams unused allotments to save on the tax They wouldn't actually receive cash. They'd just receive the slot which gives them the bigger pool of their own money to spend. It keeps them from paying a bigger penalty. It's all money though so it's kind of semantics.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 01:32 PM) Teams that are not able to spend over $300k on players have to have some room left. This is true. Those teams can trade all of their slots.
  16. Sox could acquire some bonus pool money. It will be small but help. They have like almost $1 million still. Lets say they trade for $2 million in pool money. Then pay Robert $20 million. They'd pay a tax of $17 million. Does that make sense?
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 10:16 AM) And the thread takes the inevitable turn to Jerry Reinsdorf culture of losing pissing match. I'm sorry mags.
  18. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 10:12 AM) Do those offers really have anything to do with Robert though? Gordon and Shark were proven MLB talents and Tanaka was significantly older and more polished at the time of signing his contract than Robert is now. Plus the Sox were "all in" then and looking to sign guys that could help the MLB team win right away. Comparing those guys to Robert is apples to oranges IMO. It was more to say they've offered contracts more than Abreu's in the past. People act like they won't pay more than $70 million for anyone ever and that's likely very untrue.
  19. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 10:09 AM) This is always the issue. Hopefully a team gets nervous. If the Bears want to pick one in the 2nd, I think Dobbs or Peterman will be there. I don't think those guys are future starters though. If they miss on Watson/Kizer/Trubisky/Mahomes I hope they ignore the position personally.
  20. They did offer Samardzija in the the neighborhood of 80-90 million and went pretty far for Alex Gordon too. The Tanaka offer was for over $100 million as well I believe. They haven't signed any of these deals. They've been in that area though before.
  21. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 09:43 AM) I think they either trade down and take one later or take one in the second round. I don't see them taking a QB at #3. All 4 will likely be gone by #36 in my opinion. I'd love to trade back but I'm not sure anyone wants the #3 pick.
  22. QUOTE (Two-Gun Pete @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 09:20 AM) No,that isn't central to my view on this. My view is that this organization hates to sign prospects because (in Jerry's words, not mine) "Prospects are just prospects." Moreover, recent history indicates that this organization will inevitably fail to get the 20 year old youngster in international FA, but when it comes to landing the 30+ year old veteran who's in decline, "Kenny always gets his man." Alright. Well you aren't really being rational.
  23. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 08:02 AM) I watched like the first 2 or 3 episodes and stopped because I knew what was happening. Just a bad idea. Was it a bad idea? I think it was fine. You had Ashley and Nicole in the finals after 2-3 episodes?
  24. I love that fans and media outlets predict the season prior to ANY DRAFT PICKS BEING MADE!!
