  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 09:16 AM) Yeesh that's quite the...something on Tatis. Not surprised to see Lopez not on his list though. He had the Sox system as a whole ranked 10th so he's clearly not as high on some of our guys as most. Exactly. They have 4 top 100 guys from Law. I bet Hansen is on his just missed list because he said a couple months back that Hansen would be top 100. I think mob pipeline with have 7 Sox in the top 100 (Moncada, Giolito, Kopech, Lopez, Collins, Fulmer, and Basabe). If they stretched to 150, probably Burdi and Hansen as well.
  2. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 09:00 AM) This party is dead, man. It's dead until at least Monday.
  3. I didn't realize that Luis Martinez took such a step in the right direction.
  4. I'll take a stab at the top 15 1. Yoan Moncada 2. Lucas Giolito 3. Michael Kopech 4. Reynaldo Lopez 5. Zach Collins 6. Carson Fulmer 7. Alec Hansen 8. Zach Burdi 9. Luis Alexander Basabe 10. Dane Dunning 11. Spencer Adams 12. Jameson Fisher 13. Jordan Stephens 14. Alex Call 15. Luis Curbelo
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 08:31 AM) Expected to see Call/Fisher in this list, I guess they maintained your interest even as the system beefed up. Quite a fall for Micker. Really hope he can stay healthy and have a season here. I think if guys like Call and Curbelo are top 15 prospects, then this system probably isn't as good as people think it is. It's very top heavy. The next 2 years are very important.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 08:39 AM) Lopez doesn't qualify? 44 innings means he's still technically a rookie. Law thinks he's a reliever. I doubt he's on there if we haven't seen him yet.
  7. http://www.espn.com/blog/keith-law/insider/post?id=6248 No White Sox in Law's 41-60. I'm expecting just Moncada, Kopech, and Giolito. He has Fernando Tatis Jr at #47. Yes, that Fernando Tatis Jr.
  8. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jan 24, 2017 -> 08:12 PM) Steve, why are you surprised? Did you see the responses he got on his campaign trail? Your faith in your fellow man is admirable, but sadly misplaced. Less than 30% of the people voted for him. I always remind myself of that every time some moron says "the people have spoken"
  9. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jan 23, 2017 -> 05:30 PM) Leury and his lifetime average of .188 has no business being on a major league ball club IMO. The guy is almost as painful to watch bat as Sanchez. I'd much rather let Peter takes his place who appears to provide the same positional flexibility and slightly more upside with the bat. Garcia can play average D at SS, 2B, and probably any OF position. He also has Plus speed. He;s not very good but you wanted reasons as to why Peter and Alvarez aren't there. They have other guys they want to see first. That's why.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 24, 2017 -> 11:51 AM) Jeff Thomas on the next season of Last Chance U? Midwest guys don't usually go to EMCC but something similar is possible
  11. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jan 24, 2017 -> 10:52 AM) Exactly No way the Pirates offer up 5 top 15 prospects for one player 3 or 4 tops The Pirates would be destroying their future with that proposal If the Pirates aren't willing to include Meadows or Bell, I don't think Hahn would do it for less than Glasnow, Keller, Newman and something else. I'd take Glasnow, Keller, Newman, and Hayes instantly. That's 4 top 100 prospects.
  12. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 24, 2017 -> 10:41 AM) I ranked Diaz somewhere 20-25 and still couldn't get him on the list. I'm with you here though. I'm probably too low. I literally just wrote down 40 names on my plan period and put a list together. My bottom like 10 isn't researched at all.
  13. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 24, 2017 -> 10:36 AM) I am sure Law will be as high on him as anyone. Law was a huge fan of Hayes when he was a draft prospect. Essentially said that he was a high school athlete who will hit but doesn't have a position. Since going pro, Hayes has really taken to 3B. I think Hayes is a big breakout guy this year and perhaps Law wants to be on the "I told you so" side of that. Law will definitely be the high man on Newman too. Bet he has him top 30.

  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 24, 2017 -> 09:38 AM) Yeah Thomas apparently got rejected by admissions and if what the Scout writers were saying about his transcripts are true, he isn't going anywhere. He'll go to JUCO and dominate and then be in the SEC or ACC.
  16. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 24, 2017 -> 10:06 AM) How could you include Hickhman? He didn't make my top 50. Will he not be healthy and pitching finally?
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 24, 2017 -> 10:00 AM) This is a good point. He was added as we were making the lists, so he may not have been in scope for everyone as they built lists that became our discussion points as a group. He's definitely a guy worth considering. I'm not sure he's any good but he probably belongs on just missed over Courtney Hawkins lol.
  18. I've heard that a few of mine aren't even in the FutureSox top 45. Here we go: 1. Yoan Moncada 2B 2. Lucas Giolito RHP 3. Michael Kopech RHP 4. Zack Collins C 5. Reynaldo Lopez RHP 6. Alec Hansen RHP 7. Carson Fulmer RHP 8. Luis Alexander Basabe CF 9. Dane Dunning RHP 10. Zack Burdi RHP 11. Spencer Adams RHP 12. Charlie Tilson CF 13. Jordan Stephens RHP 14. Adam Engel OF 15. Jameson Fisher OF 16. Amado Nunez IF 17. Jordan Guerrero LHP 18. Trey Michalczewski 3B 19. Luis Curbelo IF 20. Alex Call OF 21. Micker Adolfo OF 22. Bernardo Flores LHP 23. Brian Clark LHP 24. Jake Peter Utility 25. Matt Davidson 3B 26. Dylan Covey RHP 27. Ian Hamilton RHP 28. Corey Zangari 1B 29. Victor Diaz RHP 30. Blake Hickman RHP I've seen no mention of Willy Garcia anywhere. Kind of surprising.
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 24, 2017 -> 07:57 AM) This week, FutureSox will be releasing our new Top 30 White Sox Prospects list. For those unfamiliar, we do these lists twice a year, in January/February and July/August. Usually we release in 2 parts - 16-30, then the full list. But this year, because the system is the deepest it's been in over a decade, we added a third layer. Here is a list of 15 prospects we (the writers at FS) discussed for consideration, but who just missed the Top 30. It's kind of amazing to see that these are real prospects. There are a few names here I'm sure some of you assumed would make the T30. Who is on this list that you thought for sure would be in, or should be in, the Top 30? What are your thoughts on these 15 guys? FYI: Tomorrow we post 16-30, and Thursday will be the full list. I wouldn't have Eddy Alvarez on there but I expect to see him.

  21. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jan 23, 2017 -> 04:38 PM) Same here. Especially Peter. You'd think he could easily beat out Leury Garcia for a super-utility role. Frazier,Anderson, Saladino, Sanchez, Lawrie, Everth Cabrera, Davidson, Asche, and Leury could all play 3B, SS, or 2B.
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 23, 2017 -> 01:48 PM) Agreed on Bummer. If I ever knew his name, I forgot it. He's a lefty. 59 in camp as of now. 32 pitchers (11 lefties) 6 catchers 11 infielders 10 outfielders (Asche and Leury listed as OF) http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/roster/40-man/ Bummer has been injured a lot. He was an overslot 19th rounder a few years back. Throws really hard
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 23, 2017 -> 11:34 AM) Why would anyone even argue? Unless you know exactly what has been turned down, you have nothing to argue about. As far as I can tell, not one poster here has any idea what the White Sox have said no to yet. But there are huge problems. It's ridiculous. And this is where I agree with Dick Allen.
  24. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Jan 23, 2017 -> 09:33 AM) well astros are out and looks like pirates too. The Astros are out because their GM said so? We have no idea who is out and who isn't.
